Chapter 47 - My king(8)
Before the system could even process its shock, it witnessed Le Tian suddenly lifted off the ground.
His entire body floated mid-air, long limbs hanging limply, his head tilted as if leaning against someone unseen.
System: …
There was only one being in this world that it couldn’t perceive—Land.
Sigh… How should it put this? It actually felt a strange sense of satisfaction, like watching its “daughter” finally get counterattacked by the “good man” she had been playing with. It even had an urge to say—”Well done.”
The system quickly scolded itself. What the hell was it thinking?! It mustn’t let Le Tian’s corrupt mind influence it!
Meanwhile, Land felt a tinge of guilt. He had already used divine light to cleanse Le Tian, but the bite marks, fingerprints, and bruises from certain impacts couldn’t heal instantly.
Though he felt apologetic toward Cyril, he had no regrets. Carefully, he carried Le Tian to the bed and whispered softly to his unconscious figure:
“I’m sorry… Please don’t get married, okay?”
After a brief pause, he added to himself, “You said that silence means consent.”
System: …Wow. I didn’t know you were like this.
Land sat beside the bed, resting his forehead against his hand as he gazed at Le Tian with a peaceful, almost euphoric expression, unable to hide the smile tugging at his lips.
When Le Tian regained consciousness, he realized his limbs were so weak they barely moved.
Land… Damn. No doubt, the Son of God was truly something else.
Seeing his eyelashes flutter, Land immediately leaned over. “Cyril?”
The angelic face came into view, with ocean-blue eyes brimming with tenderness. Le Tian was so overwhelmed by his beauty that his vision blurred.
Shocked, he blurted out, “Wait—you’re not glowing anymore?!”
Land had no idea what he meant. Instead, he apologized again. “I’m sorry, Cyril.”
An angel was apologizing to him… Le Tian suddenly felt like the bad guy.
How did this happen?! Just moments ago, he had been righteously rejecting that human lightbulb, yet now, when facing this holy angel, he felt like a scumbag.
Still, his body betrayed him. He smiled and said, “It’s fine, just… be gentler next time.”
Next time?!
Land’s face lit up instantly, as if angels were now circling him, singing hymns.
Le Tian glanced at him up and down before suddenly realizing something. He turned to the system, exclaiming, “Wait a minute—is this what people mean when they say a ‘virgin halo’ has collapsed?!”
System: … What the hell kind of term is that?!
Suddenly, it felt like Land was actually the one who got taken advantage of. This damn lustful elephant—what did he do to deserve this?!
For a long time, the system had hidden the fact that it could actually see Land’s face. It knew that anyone who possessed the same divine power as Land wouldn’t be affected by the blinding holy light. But it had kept quiet, fearing that if Le Tian found out, he would shamelessly drag him into his bed.
Who would’ve thought that Land would strike first?
The system was deeply conflicted. “Why… Why does Land, who looks like a pure angel, end up being seduced by Le Tian?! Sure, Cyril’s face is stunning, but Land himself is even better-looking! Why doesn’t he just… take care of himself like Le Tian does?!”
The system failed to realize that its thought process was slowly starting to resemble Le Tian’s. It was too busy mourning yet another male lead who had fallen victim.
Meanwhile, Land gently ran his fingers through Le Tian’s soft golden hair, just as he had imagined. “Don’t get married, okay?”
The pleading tone made Le Tian feel like a jerk again.
Why? How? Against that annoying lightbulb, he was so self-assured! But now, facing this angel, he actually felt guilty?!
Le Tian hesitated. “Not getting married would be… troublesome.”
Land was silent for a moment. Then, he lifted Le Tian’s hand and pressed his own palm against it. A soft holy light shone from his fingertips, blending with Le Tian’s skin.
“No matter what the trouble is, I’ll take care of it. This land belongs to me.”
Le Tian was stunned.
That CEO-like declaration, coming from such an angelic face, was dangerously attractive.
Truly, looks change everything.
For a second, he wanted to say, “Okay, darling, I’ll leave it all to you.”
But Cyril would never say that.
Land’s beauty was enough to dazzle Cyril—but that was it.
Cyril might be an irresponsible king, but he had the arrogance and pride of one. He had been spoiled since birth, and he had even dared to betray the Church—no doubt, he was the most headstrong king in the entire empire.
Le Tian smirked. “Land, I’ll be honest—I really like you.”
Land’s heart leaped with joy, but before he could react, Le Tian shattered his hopes.
“You can be my lover. That doesn’t interfere with my marriage.”
Le Tian said it so casually, resting one arm on the bed as his royal robe slipped down, exposing his flawless, muscular chest—still marked with traces of their earlier encounter.
Yet he could say such ruthless words without blinking.
System: This damn scumbag elephant!!
Land’s deep blue eyes darkened.
What a spoiled little prince. Selfish to the core—yet somehow, unbearably charming.
He lowered his gaze, smiling faintly. “Cyril, have you forgotten? I’m the Pope.”
Le Tian narrowed his eyes and smirked. “Baby, are you threatening me?”
Land was silent for a long time. His long hair cascaded down, pooling on the bed as he whispered, “It’s not a threat.”
Le Tian relaxed slightly—until Land loomed over him, his deep blue eyes darkening almost to black.
“It’s a warning.”
The Pope held power over kingdoms. He might not interfere with politics often, but he could support or destroy any nation with a single decree.
“Cyril, I know you don’t care about anything…” Land’s voice was gentle as he knelt over him, parting Le Tian’s softened legs. “…except your face.”
Le Tian: !!!
He panicked, turning to the system. “MOM?! Is this a disfigurement threat?!”
System: “Isn’t this exactly what you wanted?”
Le Tian: “NO! My beauty is more important than ANYTHING!”
If Land really dared to ruin his face, he would fight him to the death!
This kind of Pope would end up on a crime documentary in modern times, you know that, right?!
Glaring at Land, Le Tian was furious, trembling with anger.
Land, seeing his adorably frustrated expression, softened.
Burying his face in Le Tian’s shoulder, he whispered, “…See? You get mad over things you care about. I’m the same, Cyril… I really don’t want you to marry someone else. Can’t you consider my feelings?”
His voice even carried a hint of grievance.
Le Tian sighed. As long as his face stayed intact, they could negotiate.
After a moment, he muttered, “…Fine, I’ll think about it.”
Land smiled and kissed the corner of his lips. “Think carefully.”
Then, as a final incentive, he added, “I’ve sent my messengers to buy mirrors.”
Le Tian: “Seriously?!”
Land nodded. “Enough to cover my entire chamber.”
Le Tian’s heart pounded.
“…Even the bathroom?”
“Even the bathroom.”
Land, you really are my little angel! Baby, I love you! Le Tian screamed internally, but on the surface, he remained calm, stroking Land’s hair. “Not bad.” Actually, it was amazing, absolutely amazing! He couldn’t be happier!
Land whispered, “Do you want to come to my chamber tonight and have a look?”
Le Tian answered without hesitation, “I do!”
Land leaned in and kissed his neck again, a sly smile appearing on his face.
The system, having witnessed everything, was utterly shocked once again—”I never expected you to be like this, Land.” Using both the carrot and the stick, Land had completely outmaneuvered Le Tian. The system couldn’t help but reflect on its own approach to handling Le Tian. Maybe it should learn from Land.
Le Tian, meanwhile, was still stroking Land’s silky silver hair as he mused to the system, “Such a little cutie, and he even has tricks up his sleeve. I’ll definitely miss him in the future.”
The system was instantly alarmed. This man had already seen through Land’s ploy completely, and yet he was thoroughly enjoying it? Even more disturbing was—”…You’re already thinking about the future?”
Le Tian shrugged. “Just a little sentimental thought. Who knows, maybe the next one will be even better, and I won’t miss him at all.”
The system: “…” What a terrifying scumbag.
Le Tian: “Hehe.”
After resting enough, Le Tian changed into a new outfit. He and Land’s soul form exchanged several affectionate kisses before Land reluctantly left, urging Le Tian to come to his chamber soon.
Le Tian sighed with admiration, “Skilled and clingy—I really like him.”
The system coldly retorted, “Your ‘like’ is worthless.”
Le Tian: “Wuwuwu, Mom, you’re so mean! You broke my heart saying that.”
With his heart “broken,” Le Tian put on the Church’s ceremonial robe and meticulously styled his golden curls in front of the mirror. The light gold waves naturally parted to either side. With his face blank and expressionless, he actually exuded a solemn, priestly aura. Holding that expression, he murmured, “System, I’m so excited.”
The system refused to engage.
But Le Tian continued speaking to himself, “Wearing the Holy Robe in front of a mirror—”
The system snapped, “Shut up. Say another word, and I’ll blast rave music in your head all night.”
Le Tian: …
Had he really pushed the system this far? For the sake of his beauty sleep, he decided to stay quiet.
The Holy Robe had a large hood. Le Tian, too lazy to wear a mask, pulled it over his head instead. His small face and delicate features were almost completely hidden, revealing only the tip of his chin.
As he walked through the long corridors in the highest-ranking white robe of the Church, many church officials were momentarily dumbstruck. They suddenly realized… this crazy king actually had an incredible presence.
The long, flowing robe fit perfectly on him, draping smoothly down his frame. Without the heavy armor, his excellent proportions were finally revealed. One official, gazing at his back, muttered, “He looks just like a divine being descending upon the world.”
Another smacked him over the head. “What nonsense are you spouting? Our Pope is the true Son of God.”
The first official rubbed his head. Well, the Pope was indeed the Son of God, but honestly, he was a bit much—too radiant to even look at directly.
Le Tian walked at a deliberately slow pace, drawing countless gazes. His elegant, steady steps left many captivated.
He thought to himself, “If it weren’t for the fact that Cyril is such a beast, I’d probably be unable to get out of bed right now. Virgins are terrifying.”
The system: “…”
Le Tian chuckled. “But I like it.”
At the entrance of the Pope’s chamber, a rare scene of chaos was unfolding. The Church’s attendants, looking miserable, were hauling in massive, human-sized mirrors—two people per mirror, making multiple trips back and forth.
Many had heard about Le Tian’s complaints regarding the lack of mirrors in the Church when he first arrived, and they were still salty about it. Now, with the Pope ordering them to buy and install mirrors everywhere in his chamber, several attendants were on the verge of a breakdown. Some of the more emotionally fragile ones even started crying.
Land made things worse by glancing at the newly mirrored wall and smiling. “Cyril will definitely love this.”
The attendants: …Please… Is this Cyril some kind of demon?
“He’s here,” Land suddenly turned around, eyes bright with excitement. Ever since he and Cyril had been together, their souls were now intertwined to some extent. The moment Cyril got close, Land’s soul shivered with anticipation.
The attendants watched in stunned silence as their dignified Pope—like an eager child—rushed out and wrapped his arms tightly around the white-robed mad king. And it wasn’t just a friendly embrace—it was possessive, both arms locked firmly around his waist.
The attendants: This… This can’t be happening…
