Wings of Fire in MHA

After catching Stain the last day of his internship Carter spent the day flying back to Ryukyu's agency and getting his things before taking the train home. The entire way there all people could talk about was the Hero Killer getting caught, as well as a strange video that had started to pop up on the internet that was basically Stain's manifesto.

Though it was pretty annoying to hear 'Stain' everywhere Carter enjoyed his Sunday off and was back in the classroom bright and early, what he didn't expect was for Katsumi to be there surrounded by the girls and taking a closer look he saw why, 'Not too shabby' he thought as he peeked over someone's shoulder and saw that whoever Katsumi had interned with had somehow tamed her hair that looked like an explosion, now it was straightened and she had it in a low ponytail as she glared and swore at everyone. 

Seeing him over Mina's shoulder Katsumi snapped "The hell are you looking at?" as Carter shrugged "You looked half decent before you opened your filthy mouth." he said as everyone froze and slowly backed away fully expecting Katsumi to go ballistic, and go ballistic she did "THE FUCK DID YOU SAY TO ME??" she screamed as Carter smirked 'this is fun' seeing him smile Katsumi stood up ready to blow him to bits, but before she could get out of her seat she froze, as Carter glared at her "If you stand up, you'd better be ready to die." he said as Katsumi glowered at him but sat back down as the class glanced warily at them.

Seeing she was curbing her aggression Carter smiled again "See, you're so much more likeable when you aren't being an asshole." Carter said giving Katsumi a bright smile before going to his seat when everyone froze, they didn't think he could smile so brightly, and more than one person in the class blushed while thinking of his bright smile as Aizawa walked in and everyone scrambled for their seats.

"Now that you're all sitting, welcome back from your internships, some of you may have had more action then the rest of you but hopefully you all learned something useful." he said as a few nodded while others looked bored. "Now that internships are over, it's time for the next big thing, final exams." that caught their attention as a few of the less academically focused like Mina and Kaminari started to panic, since they had been training for the sports festival they had neglected their studies, others such as Momo and Shoto had no such worries. "You have a month to prepare, the final exams will consist of two parts, a written and a practical. The written will be the easy part." Aizawa said smiling as he watched a few squirm, "What will the practical be over?" Ida asked raising his hand as Momo and a few other nodded their heads as they also wanted to know. Zipping up his sleeping bag Aizawa grins at them "Wouldn't you like to know." he says before promptly passing out.

Frozen Ida just stares in shock as do the rest of class, never expecting to see Carter and Aizawa smile back to back in one day. Taking control, Momo organizes those that need help into groups as they start to study. Since he hadn't neglected his studies Carter didn't care much and tapping Aizawa with his foot he got permission to go to the Support course area to get his hero costume redone.

After walking over Carter banged on the door tha read 'Support department' and a few seconds later Powerloader the support course teacher opened the door "what'd you want?" he asked as Carter explained why he was there, "Fine by me, just don't knock anything over with those wings, oh and go to Hatsume as she won't shut up about you." he grumbled as Carter nodded and walked in. Looking around he saw several workstations full of mechanical parts as well as various fabrics and other materials. It looked like an engineer and a seamstress had a baby and then threw in some expensive materials for the heck of it. "FLYBOY!" someone yells as Carter whips around half expecting Katsumi to be charging at him as Mei runs over as people scramble out of her way, "You're here! You can help me test some of my babies!" She squealed as she grabbed his arm and dragged him towards her workbench, that was buried under a pile of various gadgets "I'm just here to get my hero costume redone Mei." he tells her as she digs through the pile as she looks back at him "Well why didn't you just say so?" she asked as he felt like facepalming.

As he explained how he needed a costume like Ryukyu that could expand and shrink with his form Mei tried to take some of his hair to use as threads but ended up breaking her scissors so he plucked a few and setting them aside she started to take him measurements getting way too close for comfort at time as she seemed to have absolutely no concept of personal space. After she measured his human body she wanted to measure his other form next but since there wasn't enough space in the room he just told her to scale Ryukyu's dragon form by about 1.5 and that it should be close. Once that was all done, Carter finally managed to extract himself from Mei and get back to his class right as Mic arrived for the English lesson.

After class Carter walked home and wondered what they would do for the practical portion of the exam, 'they might have us fight the teachers for all we know' he thought not knowing he was right on the mark as he made it home and started making some food. As he ate he looked at his phone and saw that Momo had added the entire class to a group chat and that she was organizing a study session at her house, despite not needing help he told them he would go to help and that seemed good enough for Momo as he set his phone back down and got back to eating.

NEXT DAY-

After school Momo sent out her address to those who were going to the study group, arriving at the address Carter saw that instead of a house there was a massive mansion in front of him 'A peacock?' he thought watching the bird strut around in the grass as he rang the buzzer and a butler opened the door and let him to Momo and the others. Entering the room, well hall with how massive it was, Carter saw that Momo, Mina, Kirishima, Ochako and Kaminari were already there waiting for him. "Oh, Carter you're just in time, could you help Kaminari and Kirishima, others might show up later." Momo said, waving at him as he nodded and got to work 'enlightening' the boys as he pushed them even after their brains stopped working. 

As Ojiro and Toru showed up Momo seeing Kaminari close to an aneurysm decided to take a break and bring out some snacks, as he ate Carter and Momo talked about what they thought the practical exam would be over as the other gave their opinions as well.

After eating Carter dragged Kirishima and Kaminari back to studying as Ojiro followed behind. After another couple of hours it was getting late so everyone decided to go home, Momo was nice enough to give everyone a ride back to their station or house. As they rode back to their apartment Carter and Ochako talked about the things that they struggled on as Momo's butler silently drove. Reaching home they walked up together before saying goodnight.

In the morning Carter made it to school a bit earlier than usual, as he listened to his music vibing he watched as more and more people arrived to class, listening to them talk about the upcoming exams. Throughout the day Carter was bored as he was preparing for the written exam, and being the strongest in the class he wasn't worried about the practical either. He still put in effort during training however as he would never allow himself to stagnate when he knew that he could get stronger. Realizing he hadn't looked at his system in a while he opened it.

System store is now available

'Why did you not tell me that I had unlocked the store?' he asked the system as he saw that his stats had somewhat risen, {Host never asked.} it said as he deadpanned. 'Well from now on tell me when something big happens ok?' {Very well, would you like a brief overview of the system store?} it asked as he nodded curiously for something other than Midnight's basics of hero law. 

{Since the system is new there is not much, but the things available can be used in most realities, they can be bought with system points that are awarded for tasks and any number of things.} it explained 'what kind of things can I buy?' {Anything available in the current universe, when you enter a new one items from the universe will be added as well.} 'So it's basically a way to buy anything and everything as long as I have enough points right?' {Correct, as long as you have the points you can buy anything and everything, with no limit, and the list of things you can buy only gets bigger the more universes you explore.}. As he thought about it, Carter realized that this one thing would be what eventually helped him get his revenge, "So what's available right now, and how can I earn points, is there a way to get passive points?" {The shop currently looks like this.}

{For now host, the shop will consist of these 4 basic categories. I will bring up repetitive tasks that can be used to grind for points in a moment, as for gaining passive points that requires the system to reach maturity so that it can separate a small portion of itself to latch onto a sub-host, as that host gains power and accumulates points the host will get a small return, once the system in the sub-host reaches maturity the cycle will repeat.} 'Ok, that's kinda freaky' Carter thought as he answered a question that Midnight had asked after seeing him staring off into space, 'So you really are a symbiotic life form aren't you?' he asked the system {Yes, bringing up tasks now.}

System tasks-MHA

1-point- Daily exercise (100-push ups, situps, squats, 10km run), 

2-points- Take down villains( 2 each, more depending on strength), Saving people/ heroic deed( saving civilians, assisting heroes ect)

{Money can also be exchanged at the rate of 1000=1 point, but can only be done 10 times everyday to give semblance of balance.} it told him 'Why are the hero things worth more points?' he asked as the bell rang signaling lunch, as he got up the system answered {Since the current universe is oriented on a hero vs villain basis, the Will of the World looks more favorably upon those who abide by its rules, this it just to encourage the host to focus on building strength and experience.} it told him as he snorted, he had more combat experience then more of the pathetic heroes on this planet, other than monsters like All Might and Star he was confident is beating most heroes . 'Show me some of the powers.' {Very well.}

Sitting down at his table Carter looked at the prices and frowned 'Why's it so expensive?" {Because the host is already much stronger than most beings in this world, so the prices have been adjusted accordingly to keep hosts growth stable.} It made sense but he still didn't like it, but he wasn't going to complain, he would just get to work and grind out the points, though just looking at the price of special quirks made his wallet hurt 'Why are those special?' {Because they are dangerous in the hands of this world's inhabitants, if the host got his hands on them there would be nothing short of a planet cracking bomb capable of stopping you. The price is there as a reward for hard work and for the safety of this world's inhabitants} 'Ah, that makes sense.' he thought as he froze wondering who held quirks that made the system want to keep them out of his reach.

As he looked through the rest of the shop he saw that there was nothing really worth buying so far. This is what it looked like:

As he looked through everything Carter wondered if the system wanted him to take over the world or something, {No, the items in the shop are there to assist the host to accomplish whatever he wants, the system merely provides the resources necessary to accomplish those goals.} it said unfeelingly as he packed his things ready to head home, 'Still, I now have the capability to buy living people, how is that even possible?' {I don't know, but just wait until the host visits other universes, there are some places that will let you buy entire planets worth of people, or the planet itself if you so wish.} He sure didn't expect that as he almost tripped, an entire planet's worth of people? 'How many people are there?' {On the small end, a couple hundred thousand lives, at the higher levels it can reach millions if not billions of lives.}

He had to stop and just not think for a whole minute from how shocked he was, he had seen a lot of messed up things, but to purchase entire planets worth of people was something beyond his imagination. As he got home he went straight to bed, not even wanting to eat from all the mental flashbangs he had to deal with today, 'All because of the damn systems.' he thought as he went to sleep, right before he slipped into unconsciousness he somehow felt the system flip him off, how it did that he had no idea, but he was glad to not dream that night.

A/N- Hey, messed around with the system since I haven't touched it since chapter 2, sooooo.

Most of those things are just there for looks, once this book is over with the next world will make a bit of use of the more interesting items in the shop.
