Chapter 54
Chapter 54: How Do I Make Him Like Me?
“Don’t be ridiculous!” Qiao An reprimanded. He looked at the window, which had been smashed open, then frowned and asked, “What’s going on?”
Why did Eldest Young Master Ji just fly out? Can it be that Chief didn’t want to consummate the marriage, but Eldest Young Master Ji insisted, so she kicked him out? That’s the most likely possibility!
Chang Huan stepped forward and kicked Ji Yuxian’s leg. “Serves you right! If you want to seduce our Chief, you deserve it,” he snorted coldly.
“Stop it. Hurry up and carry him inside. There was a lot of noise just now. If Ji Manor’s people have been alerted, then we’re in trouble!” Qiao An instructed solemnly.
Fortunately, there were not many people in the yard, and the night guards had just walked away. Hu Dapao and Ah Shu lifted Ji Yuxian, who was unconscious, into the room. Su Jiu was behind the door and looked like she was about to leave. When she saw the gang carrying Ji Yuxian, she was surprised. She made her way to them and said hurriedly, “Get him in here!”
Qiao An looked out the door then shut it tightly. Walking into the inner chamber, they laid the man on the ground and shone a light at him. His face was deathly pale, and cold sweat dotted his forehead. His eyes were closed, and his brows were knit tightly together. It looked like he was in excruciating pain.
Hu Dapao was stunned. She looked up and exclaimed, “Chief, your kick is vicious!”
Su Jiu looked at Ji Yuxian. She was astonished too, but Hu Dapao’s understanding of what had transpired was really wrong.
After the man had lowered the bed curtain, he’d told Su Jiu to go to sleep. So, Su Jiu had taken off her tedious robe and even asked the man considerately, “Do you sleep on the outside or inside?” However, he’d winked seductively at her and said, “My lady, you should ask your husband if he sleeps in front or behind.” She hadn’t understood this and found the man baffling. She’d lifted the quilt and burrowed beneath it. Then, the man had taken off his robes, lifted up her quilt, and reached for her clothes to remove them. Somewhere on her body, Su Jiu had hidden the jade pendant that she’d stolen from the ice-cold man. Naturally, she couldn’t let him see it. She’d held down the man’s hand and asked what he was doing.
“Sleep!” the man had replied.
“You go to sleep, then. Why are you taking off my clothes?” Su Jiu had asked, puzzled.
The man’s eyebrows had knitted together. He’d smirked, but his gaze was cold. “Are you really silly, or are you only pretending to be silly to play hard to get?”
Your mother’s a fool! As soon as Su Jiu had been about to push him away, he’d suddenly frowned. His eyes had flashed with shock; then, he’d fallen on her. Su Jiu hadn’t thought about what she was doing; she’d just extended her legs to kick him and then this happened! Even if she was impulsive and unable to resist retaliation, she was not capable of hurting a man so badly with one kick!
Qiao An had some medical knowledge, so he squatted down to feel Ji Yuxian’s pulse. His brow furrowed, and he shook his head. “His pulse is extremely erratic. It is by no means the result of Chief’s kick.”
“What’s going on?” Su Jiu asked.
“I don’t know. My medical knowledge is too limited!” Qiao An stood up, then instructed, “Let’s get him to bed first!”
“Got it!” Hu Dapao and Ah Shu answered. Then, they lifted Ji Yuxian onto the carved bed covered with brocade satin and fur.
With Ji Yuxian in a coma, the five people gathered in a circle in the room to discuss their countermeasures. Now that the political problems have changed, there is no longer a question of whether to sleep with him or not!
“Should we call a physician?” Ah Shu asked.
“No. As soon as the physician comes, the whole Ji Manor will be in an uproar. How would we explain it?” Qiao An said. They couldn’t possibly say that Eldest Young Master Ji had been severely injured by a kick from Su Jiu because he wanted to sleep with her, right?
“Let’s observe him tonight first. If he doesn’t wake up tomorrow morning, we’ll make plans!” Su Jiu declared.
“While he’s in a coma, why don’t we run away with the boxes of the dowry?” Hu Dapao suggested gruffly.
“That won’t work!” Qiao An rejected directly. “Even if we get out of Ji Manor, I’m afraid we can’t get out of Shengjing City.”
“Master An, what should we do, then?” Ah Shu asked.
Qiao An thought for a moment, looked up at Su Jiu and said solemnly, “Chief, I want you to be the real Young Mistress of Ji Manor!”
Yes, the real Young Mistress of Ji Manor! No longer would they merely rob the dowry and Ji Manor’s treasure, which would mean being hunted down by Ji Manor and the government. If they did that, there would be no peace. They wanted to stay in Ji Manor and carve out a piece of heaven and earth for themselves in Shengjing City!
Su Jiu looked at Qiao An and froze. Suddenly, she smiled. “Master An, that’s what I intended to do, too!” She’d thought about this strategy before but hadn’t expected Qiao An to have the same plan.
“What do you mean? Let Chief be the Young Mistress?” Hu Dapao asked naively.
“I don’t agree!” Chang Huan suddenly cut in.
“Why?” Qiao An asked.
“What, why?” Chang Huan turned his head away and said, “I don’t agree anyway!”
“Chief is married. It’s not up to us whether we agree or not!”
Su Jiu smiled and patted Chang Huan on the shoulder. “I know what you are thinking.”
Chang Huan’s ears turned red. “What do you mean, Chief?”
“You don’t want to be a servant girl forever. Don’t worry, I won’t be the Young Mistress for long. When we stand firm in Shengjing City, I’ll kick Ji Yuxian away!”
Chang Huan was stunned and looked down in silence.
“In that case, we have to change our strategy! What matters now is that Chief must obtain the Ji Manor’s approval or the Eldest Young Master Ji’s love,” Qiao An said.
Su Jiu’s legs straddled the chair. “How can I make him like me?”
“Men! They all like gentlewomen. Chief, you can’t kick out the Eldest Young Master Ji like you did today.” Embarrassment flashed on Qiao An’s face, and he coughed lightly. “Depending on what you want, if you don’t want to sleep with him, you must find a way to excuse yourself.”
“It doesn’t matter if we sleep together. Didn’t you and I always sleep together in the same bed before?” Su Jiu remarked nonchalantly.
As soon as her voice fell, the others felt embarrassed. They looked at her innocent face and didn’t know how to explain it. One day, they would take Chief to a brothel. When other women are about to marry, their mother or nanny tells them about consummating the marriage. Su Jiu was in an unusual situation; the Second Mistress had thought that Nanny would explain it, but Nanny did not know how, so she hadn’t said anything at all.
Qiao An coughed again then said, “This… this is a little different from what we used to do. Well, in the future, Chief will understand, naturally. We’ll skip this issue for now. The main thing is, Chief, you can no longer strike Eldest Young Master Ji.”
“Men like gentlewomen. Chief, just treat Eldest Young Master Ji with more sweetness in the future!” Ah Shu chuckled.
Su Jiu frowned. Killing or fighting was effortless for her, but she was no good at being gentle!
“Chief can also ask the Manor’s servants what Eldest Young Master Ji likes. We can find a specific resolution to the problem. Also, observe his other concubines.”
Qiao An thought of an idea. If Ji Yuxian doted on her, it would be much easier for them to act in Ji Manor or Shengjing City. Even if Ji Yuxian did not favor her, he had to like her enough so that they would not be chased out.
Su Jiu was neither dignified nor gentle. Fortunately, she was incredibly beautiful. and they considered this one of their advantages.
