Chapter 8 - Little Cutie
“When did you come back?” Yang Shifei’s face showed surprise, and his gaze quickly fell on the table.
There was a black cloth wrapped package.
“Just now.” The young girl’s pretty face was full of smiles. “I went back to get some clothes.”
Yang Shifei smiled upon hearing this. “So, are you really planning to stay?”
“I’ll stay in the next room.” The young girl lifted her delicate chin, as if urging him, and waved her hand again. “Bite me~”
Watching the tender hand swinging back and forth in front of him, and the slightly expectant gleam in the girl’s moist eyes, Yang Shifei resisted the impulse and quickly said, “I didn’t ask clearly before, do you know what this cold energy inside me is?”
He pointed to his right arm. “It’s the cold air that entered after ‘biting’ you.”
The young girl blinked her eyes twice, tilting her head slightly. “I don’t understand.”
Yang Shifei was stunned for a moment. “You don’t know where the cold energy came from? Isn’t it absorbed from you?”
But the young girl pouted her pink lips, swaying her small feet under her skirt. “I’ve had it since birth.”
“…”
Yang Shifei was momentarily speechless.
It wasn’t acquired through some cultivation technique but naturally possessed from birth. Could it be the so-called innate true qi?
“But is it okay for me to absorb this energy from you?” Yang Shifei frowned, hesitating. “Won’t you feel uncomfortable, weak, or unwell?”
The young girl stared at him for a while, then smiled again. “Not uncomfortable, but rather comfortable.”
“?” Yang Shifei was a bit confused.
So, when she said ‘comfortable’ earlier, did she mean it literally?!
Could this girl really have some inexplicable quirks?
Yang Shifei scratched his head, his expression becoming somewhat subtle.
“Can you describe what you mean by ‘comfortable’?”
“My body feels light, my head feels clear,” the young girl smiled. “But overall, I just feel comfortable all over.”
Yang Sifei inwardly uttered a soft “Hmm” and vaguely sensed that something was off.
It didn’t sound like a description of having one’s inner energy drained, but rather…. like an increase in strength. Breaking free from constraints?
He once again assessed the other person, pondering silently.
Could it be that by absorbing this girl’s cold energy, there are no downsides for either party, and both benefit?
“Hey.”
The young girl raised her hand like a cat and pretended to claw twice, tilting her head. “Aren’t you going to bite me?”
Yang Sifei sighed deeply, helplessly smiling. “Biting and biting, it sounds so strange. Let’s use a different term next time.”
He held her right hand, quickly concentrating his mind, and a cold sensation burst forth in his palm.
A sensation of soreness, as if flesh was being torn apart, emerged, making him grit his teeth involuntarily.
This time, it lasted for more than a dozen breaths before reaching the limit, and he withdrew his hand tremblingly.
“Whew.”
Feeling the cold air filling his body again, Yang Shifei felt extremely relieved. Looking at the young girl in front of him, her bright eyes and the cute blush on her fair face made her look particularly enticing.
Even though he considered himself to have strong willpower, he couldn’t help feeling a bit strange at this moment. With such tender and rosy skin…Ahem!
Yang Shifei quickly shook off these distracting thoughts.
“If we’re not saying ‘bite,’ then how about—”
The young girl raised her head and blinked. “How about ‘sucking’ or ‘nibbling’?”
Yang Shifei: …
Is this little girl intentionally teasing me with suggestive language? But looking at her innocent face, he could only cough lightly. “Let’s call it ‘training.'”
The girl pouted. “Not fun.”
Damn, you really are teasing me.
Yang Shifei’s mouth twitched slightly, pretending to be indifferent as he continued, “Since Miss is going to stay here, shall we get to know each other first?”
“I know you.”
The young girl’s eyes lit up, and she quickly placed her hands on her knees, cleared her throat, and sang with a melodious voice: “A hidden dragon with ambitions, seeking adventure under the moonlight for a hundred miles, this is the son-in-law of the Luo family, Yang Shifei!”
“?”
Is she singing a play?
Wait, did they have prideful son-in-law stories in ancient times too?
“How was my singing?”
The young girl leaned forward slightly, her face full of curiosity.
Yang Shifei couldn’t help but feel a bit amused and speechless.
Originally, he thought this girl was mysterious and unpredictable, but after two meetings, she seemed to become more mischievous, like a playful child.
“Not bad?”
“Hehe~” The girl smiled contentedly.
Then, she stood up and stretched lazily.
“I’m called Yue Rui, don’t forget.”
The young girl yawned lightly. “I’m tired, I’m going to sleep.”
Yang Shifei was stunned, turning to look at the sky outside. The sun hadn’t even set yet.
“Come on.”
Without waiting for a response, Yue Rui casually picked up her luggage and swiftly flew outside like a ghost.
Yang Shifei stared in astonishment, quickly leaving the room, only to see the door of the neighboring room creak shut.
Did this girl just fly out?
No, she just tiptoed off the ground.
“So is this the so called ‘movement technique’?”
Isn’t this just like teleportation?!
Yang Shifei was both shocked and delighted, thinking that he might be able to learn something from her later.
But then he thought again, this girl named Yue Rui seemed so young and inexperienced. He had “taken advantage” of her three times already, making it seem like he was deceiving an ignorant little girl.
“Forget it, let’s just slowly build a good relationship first.”
Yang Shifei rubbed his face, adjusted his mood, and went back inside to change into the coarse clothes he brought from the village, intending to exercise before nightfall.
To make a name for himself in this world, even with the assistance of the cold energy, he couldn’t afford to be negligent.
Or rather, precisely because he had this cheating tool of cold energy, he had to seize this unique opportunity and take control of his life.
In this vast world, in a lifespan of a hundred years, if one couldn’t seek justice with satisfaction and harbor lofty ambitions, it would be a pity.
To put it bluntly, with a small fist, he was secretly anxious.
…
As the moon rose and the night wind began to blow.
“Whew—”
Yang Shifei ran around the courtyard for dozens of laps, his forehead slightly sweating.
After finishing the dinner sent by Tan Xiang, he rested briefly before starting the second round of training.
Recalling the black-clad man he saw last night, he stumbled, and suddenly flipped in mid-air.
As soon as his toes touched the ground, he forcefully tensed his legs and moved several feet away as if sliding horizontally, his left arm elbowing backward as he spun around.
The force created wind, causing the sleeves to rustle.
Yang Shifei took a few breaths, turning his arms thoughtfully.
Although he didn’t have any martial arts guidance, the actual combat last night more or less helped him remember the opponent’s moves.
More accurately, it was the method of exerting force.
How to exert force while running, how to gather strength while throwing punches, each step and punch are worth pondering.
For Yang Shifei, who had never touched martial arts, the more he thought about it, the more interesting it became, as if a new door had opened in front of him. Even just a little insight was immensely rewarding.
“But the most stunning thing about this person is those few strikes, sharp and unstoppable, making it difficult for anyone to defend against.”
Yang Shifei looked at the long knife placed not far away, his brow furrowing slightly.
He did indeed remember the posture of that man’s strikes. But now, with his right arm still injured, it wasn’t easy to exert force.
“Let’s try with the left hand first—”
Knock, knock.
There was a knock at the door.
Wiping the sweat from his face, Yang Shifei quickly put on his outer robe and went to open the door, only to see not Tan Xiang standing outside, but an unexpected graceful figure.
“Miss Luo?”
“Apologies for disturbing you, young master.”
Tonight, Luo Xian’er was dressed in a simple Ruqun dress, her arms hanging gracefully, her beautiful and delicate face still cold.
Yang Shifei quickly stepped aside. “Miss Luo, please come in. May I ask what brings you here at night?”
“You don’t need to be so formal.” Luo Xian’er moved lightly, her figure swaying as she walked into the courtyard. “I’ve been busy with some things these past few days, and I rarely have any free time. But last night’s accident was quite unexpected, and I’ve neglected you in the process, which is my fault.”
Yang Shifei smiled wryly. “Miss Luo is being too modest. I’m not so petty.”
“…Hmm, that’s true.”
Luo Xian’er nodded slightly, her gaze quickly drifting to the long knife not far away. “Is that… the weapon dropped by the assassin last night?”
“Yes.” Yang Shifei led the woman to the hall. “It fell into the weeds at the time, and I only picked it up this morning. I heard that Miss Luo went to the authorities today. Do you want to take this knife back as evidence?”
“No need. The matter has been settled, and you don’t need to worry about it.”
Luo Xian’er smoothed her long skirt and sat down gracefully. “In the future, the Feilin Gang will definitely not come to trouble you again.”
Yang Shifei smiled. “Thanks to Miss Luo’s protection.”
“Besides the incident with the assassin last night, I also learned about the situation at the Clear Moon Pavilion from Tan Xiang.”
Luo Xian’er took out the account book from her sleeve and handed it over. “If you’re willing to be the accountant at the Clear Moon Pavilion in the future, I would feel much more at ease.”
“..”
Yang Shifei solemnly accepted the account book, his expression serious.
After a moment of silence, he looked directly into her deep and beautiful eyes and said in a low voice, “Regardless, I’ve only been at the Luo Mansion for a few days. Can Miss Luo really trust me?”
“You’ve been doing well these past few days. Why would I have any reason to doubt you?” Luo Xian’er blinked. “Besides, the Clear Moon Pavilion isn’t that important to me, just some small change.”
Yang Shifei: “…”
Seeing his subtle expression of wanting to speak but holding back, Luo Xian’er’s eyes flickered slightly. She took out another small booklet from her sleeve.
“What is this?” Yang Shifei carefully took it, looking puzzled.
But upon seeing the words ‘Triple Forest Crossing Technique’ on the cover, he was suddenly shocked.
“I heard that you visited many sects these past few days, so I thought you might be interested in martial arts.” Luo Xian’er hummed lightly, “When the assassin was detained, this secret manual was found on him. I thought of bringing it back to you, so you could try practicing it.”
Yang Shifei was speechless for a moment, feeling moved.
This Miss Demon Lady was simply a treasure.
Even if she appeared scary, he felt like going up to hug her.
“Sir, don’t get too excited yet.” But Luo Xian’er shook her head. “I came here tonight to ask for another favor from you.”
Yang Shifei was taken aback for a moment, then chuckled. “Please, Miss, go ahead.”
“I want you to help me establish a sect.”
“Ah?”
