Who Said My Wife Is A Demon!

Chapter 10 - Yue Rui

Luo Xian’er did not stay for long.

After a hasty farewell, she returned to the Luo Mansion alone.

“It’s rare for Miss to lose her composure like that.” Tan Xiang slowly poured tea by her side, glancing sideways. “Was it that man who disappointed you?”

“I didn’t expect his skill to improve again.” Luo Xian’er sipped her tea lightly, her face relaxing slightly. “I showed a bit of ugliness.”

Tan Xiang looked slightly surprised.

She leaned forward and said, “Do you want me to investigate his background?”

“No need.” Luo Xian’er’s eyelashes drooped slightly as she looked at the reflection swaying in the cup. “Although he is meticulous and pretends to be mature, he is ultimately just a naive young man.”

Tan Xiang was taken aback. “Is Miss praising him?”

“Living in this world with such a mentality is indeed a treasure.” Luo Xian’er gently stroked her shoulder, as if there were still lingering warmth. “Although he’s a bit mischievous.”

Tan Xiang: “…”

Luo Xian’er shifted her focus, taking a sealed letter from the table. “The Blade Forge troops are coming to the East City?”

“Yes.” Tan Xiang lowered her head. “They will arrive in less than twenty days.”

“Hope they will be sensible.” Luo Xian’er pondered for a moment and said, “I’ll go to the authorities tomorrow morning. I have something to convey.”

“Alright.”

In the neighboring mansion…

Yang Shifei practiced the technique two more times. Clenching his fists, he felt somewhat surprised.

It seemed that because of the replenishment of cold energy, his physique had improved significantly compared to before.

If not for this, he wouldn’t have caused the small accident just now. But thinking about it, he couldn’t help but laugh.

“This miss looks so cold, but turns out she has a bit of a temper.”

Lost in his thoughts, images of her well-proportioned figure appeared in his mind again.

Even though she was dressed in a dignified and modest skirt, not a hint of skin exposed, the size of her chest, wrapped in layers of silk cloth, still caught his attention.

“Stop it!” Yang Shifei suddenly tapped his forehead.

When people have idle time, they’re indeed prone to wandering thoughts.

But the look in Luo Xian’er’s eyes, like a reproachful glance, made him feel a bit tingly all over.

“If only she wasn’t a demoness…”

Yang Shifei was momentarily stunned, but quickly pushed aside such thoughts.

It’s okay, even if she’s a demoness.

He briskly returned to the main hall and picked up the account book, flipping through it.

The book recorded the expenditures and income of the Clear Moon Pavilion in recent days in much greater detail than before, with many footnotes added.

“It does lighten my workload quite a bit.”

Half an hour later, in the study,

Yang Shifei put down his pen and, by candlelight, checked the accounts once more before nodding in satisfaction.

The first day’s accounting work was successfully completed.

If he could maintain this, he would have a decent and stable livelihood in this world.

However…

“Miss Yue Rui.”

Yang Shifei carefully put away the account book and looked at the delicate girl sitting across the desk. “When did you arrive?”

“Just now.”

Yue Rui sat on the chair, hugging her knees. Her petite body was almost curled up into a ball, looking quite adorable.

She blinked her gem-like eyes. “Are you done with your work?”

“Yeah.” Yang Shifei chuckled. “Seeing you like this, do you have something to tell me?”

“Suck.” Yue Rui smiled and extended her jade-like hand, her fingers playfully moving back and forth.

Yang Shifei smiled wryly. “I thought we were calling it ‘training’.”

He stood up and held the girl’s small hand, focusing his thoughts as usual.

“Hiss—”

Yang Shifei quickly took a breath and withdrew his hand, shaking it.

With a thought, he realized that the cold energy entering his body had become thinner.

Was it because his body couldn’t handle more, or had this girl been drained dry?

“You seem a bit ‘full’.” Yue Rui suddenly spoke, her bright eyes shining. “So, I’ll give you a little less.”

Yang Shifei was momentarily stunned by her words, then quickly smiled. “You’re quite considerate.”

He casually picked up the nearby candle. “I’m going back to rest. What do you want to do next?”

“Don’t go.”

But Yue Rui puffed up her cheeks and patted her knees. “Stay with me.”

Yang Shifei was taken aback. “Now?”

Looking outside, it should be past midnight, and the entire East City was dim.

“Aren’t you going to sleep?”

“I’ve had enough sleep.” Yue Rui jumped up, hands on her hips, her face full of pride. “I’m wide awake now!”

Yang Shifei: “..”

Seems like you’re a pure night owl.

A little while later, on the rooftop of the mansion…

Yang Shifei climbed up cautiously and saw the stacked tiles around him, then looked at the girl next to him who was smiling and patting her ‘seat’.

“….You’ve been here before?”

Yang Shifei’s expression was somewhat strange as he bent down to sit next to Yue Rui. So she’s a night owl, but he didn’t expect her to climb onto the roof.

“This is where I often come.”

“Do you know the Niu family?”

“No.” Yue Rui pointed to the moon in the sky. “It’s just that the scenery here is very beautiful.”

Yang Shifei nodded in realization.

But as he looked at the bright crescent moon in the sky, he felt curious.

This little girl looks so innocent, but she enjoys sitting alone and admiring the moon?

But then Yang Shifei realized that he knew almost nothing about Yue Rui.

“Why did you specifically ask me to join you for moon-gazing tonight?”

Yue Rui looked at the starry sky and replied without hesitation, “Because you’re like me.”

“Uh, how so?”

“We’re both alone.”

“…Damn.”

Yang Shifei rolled his eyes, almost thinking the girl was teasing him again.

But then he thought for a moment and looked at the girl thoughtfully. “You also have no family or friends in the East City?”

“Yeah.” Yue Rui leaned her elbow on her knee, hands supporting her face. “I grew up in an abandoned temple deep in the mountains outside the city. No one would disturb me. When I grew up a little, I came to the East City and wandered around, usually only appearing at night.”

“You’ve had it tough.”

Yang Shifei could hear the deeper meaning in her words.

It seemed this girl had grown up without parents in the wilderness.

“So, I can tell.” Yue Rui turned her head slightly, smiling faintly. “We’re alike.”

Yang Shifei was speechless.

Thinking carefully, this girl wasn’t wrong.

After crossing over to this world, he had to sever all ties with the past. Coming alone to the East City, wasn’t he another ‘Yue Rui’?

“Your words are making me homesick.” Yang Shifei sighed. “Are you trying to make me cry tonight?”

“Nope.” Yue Rui tilted her head. “Just enjoying the moon together is more relaxing.”

Yang Shifei raised an eyebrow, realizing he had misunderstood.

This girl, perhaps she was quite warm-hearted.

But he quickly became curious. “There should be others in the East City who have had tragic experiences. Why didn’t you try to make friends with them?”

“I don’t want to.” Yue Rui’s response was unexpected. “They have nothing to do with me.”

Yang Shifei was taken aback. “Then why did you specifically come to find me?”

Yue Rui glanced at him, her lips curving into a charming smile.

“Because you sucked me~”

“???”

Wait, what are you talking about?

Yang Shifei’s mouth twitched, about to speak up, but then he saw Yue Rui shaking her slender finger, smiling.

“Since we dual cultivated together, of course, we should be together.”

“What! Is this considered dual cultivation?!”

Yang Shifei was shocked.

He instinctively looked at Yue Rui’s petite figure. Would he be arrested by the FBI?

Wait, the age for women to get married in this world seems not to be very high.

“Hmph, you’re daydreaming again~” Yue Rui tilted her head, playfully saying, “You used to act so serious, but now you’re more interesting.”

Yang Shifei was startled by her words, feeling a warmth in his heart.

He sighed deeply, shrugged his shoulders, and smiled somewhat lazily. “I also want to joke around, but unfortunately, being alone outside, I have no choice. Not only do I have to speak eloquently, but I also have to bow and greet people whenever I see them. It’s exhausting. I’ve wanted to quit and not care about anything for a long time.”

“Then don’t worry about it~”

Yang Shifei raised his gaze and saw Yue Rui’s face glowing with a lovely smile. She clenched her small fist and waved it lightly. “I don’t like speaking formally. From now on, you can speak however you want.”

“…”

After saying that, Yue Rui stretched her body without any defense, lying down casually on the roof.

“Stop talking and look at the moon~”

“Fine!”

Yang Shifei also lay down, imitating her.

Although there were still many mysteries about Yue Rui, there would be more opportunities to get to know each other in the future.

It wasn’t just because of the ‘golden finger’, but he found this little girl quite interesting.

He rested his hands behind his head, silently gazing at the bright moon in the sky.

Separated by distance, he wondered if his parents and friends were also looking at the same moon.

The next morning.

As sunlight spilled onto his face, Yang Shifei slowly woke up to the warmth.

He was about to sit up when he almost slipped, only to realize that he was lying on the roof.

Damn.

Did I fall asleep on the roof?

Yang Shifei looked around quickly, only to see Yue Rui lying next to him, sleeping soundly with a cute expression, drooling at the corner of her mouth.

“How long does this girl plan to sleep in a day?”

Yang Shifei was a bit dumbfounded.

He gently shook Yue Rui’s shoulder. “Hey, wake up, little girl.”

But the girl just rolled over, still wanting to sleep for another half a day.

Yang Shifei sighed helplessly, hesitated for a moment, and then carefully picked her up.

He couldn’t just leave this girl on the roof, could he? Maybe it was because of last night’s moon viewing, but Yang Shifei felt that the two of them had grown closer.

However, after the girl was in his arms, he felt a bit awkward.

He hadn’t expected that this little girl, although petite and delicate-looking, actually had some weight beneath her thick clothes. As his palm slid over her thigh, his fingers seemed to sink in.

Delicate and soft.

Yang Shifei had to grit his teeth and suppress any impure thoughts.

It wasn’t that he wanted to pretend to be a noble gentleman; it’s just that someone who had only just become his confidant last night, turning around and trying to take advantage of her the next morning seemed a bit shameless.

After finally jumping down from the roof, he quickly carried Yue Rui back to the bed and laid her down. He then took off her shoes and socks, covered her with a thin blanket, and, seeing that there was nothing else he could do to help, quietly left the room.

“…”

As the room gradually quieted down, Yue Rui, who should have been fast asleep, quietly opened her eyes, a faint smile playing at the corners of her lips.

“Yang Shifei.”

She rolled around in bed, wrapping herself in the blankets, giggling mischievously with her head buried.

“This person is quite interesting~”
