Chapter 25: Chapter 25: Adding a Few More Dishes

Feeling relaxed, He Kui returned home after picking up dinner from the shopping mall.

"Did everything go well?"

Noticing He Kui's cheerful demeanor, Shi He couldn't help but smile and ask.

"Things at Director Sule's didn't go so smoothly."

He Kui shook his head and briefly recounted what had happened that day.

"That manager is way out of line!" Shi He exclaimed angrily. "I'm going to report him anonymously!"

"No need for that."

Though Shi He was part of the Sara faction, the director of Sea Lan Design Bureau was also in the same faction. The factions were all intertwined, so a single complaint wouldn't be effective.

However, Shi He should have understood that too; it was just her nature to be straightforward and a bit impulsive.

"The new residential area is a commercial complex, so the security is guaranteed, and the spy problem won't be as severe. The three-year housing period is just right."

The housing information was confidential. As long as he was cautious and didn't disclose his address, very few people would know exactly where he lived.

Plus, he had thoroughly researched the security measures there; at least it had A-level defenses.

As for the three-year term, although he didn't remember the specific details, the war shouldn't last until the third year.

In fact, He Kui believed that his current value wasn't high enough to warrant assassination attempts.

"But if you get promoted to chief engineer, you'll likely be restricted from going out," Shi He asked.

"That's fine; I won't be promoted that quickly."

Becoming A-level didn't automatically mean he would become chief engineer. Research skills, experience, and loyalty were all factors to consider. He wouldn't be able to hold that position until it was confirmed he could handle responsibilities independently.

Shi He, for some reason, seemed very confident in him.

"Plus, the apartment can be transferred. Once I'm A-level, I can pass it on to my parents."

Since apartments in the design bureau couldn't be transferred, the commercial complex's housing option met this need perfectly.

"That's true," Shi He said, happily picking up the meat He Kui had brought back and heading into the kitchen.

The next day.

"I'm sorry."

As soon as He Kui entered Sule's office, the petite young woman looked apologetic.

"I've dealt with him already, and I'll apply again after some time! Don't worry! He won't dare to act up again!"

"No, that's not necessary. I've actually signed a contract with Mechanical Maze."

"The talent program from Mechanical Maze?"

Sule paused for a moment, surprised.

"Yes."

"Is that so? That's good. Do you have any updates on the AME-WAC01 radar group plan?"

Sule's expression shifted quickly as she continued, "No?"

The AME-WAC01 was an early warning and air command type of electronic warfare model developed by the Sea Lan Design Bureau, a derivative of the production model AMF-101 Deen designed for use in Earth's atmosphere. Though the Deen project had existed for a while, this time, the successful testing of the Deen would allow it to enter production, and their reconnaissance modules would naturally need to be transferred from the GINN.

Luckily, structurally, they were quite similar, so the reconnaissance modules could be shared. They only needed to study multi-radar systems for atmospheric use.

As the name suggested, the AME-WAC01 served as a warning and command aircraft. Due to the foundation provided by the previous reconnaissance GINN, the radar systems for operation in the atmosphere were nearly complete, though they still required finer adjustments and practical testing.

This aircraft had no weapons to increase its flight range and endurance. Many external features differed from the original Deen, sporting a sky camouflage in a deep blue color. The paint used was a ferrite powder that absorbed electromagnetic waves. The back no longer had six pairs of flexible wings but instead resembled conventional aircraft wings, equipped with engines to enhance speed and reach a maximum subsonic velocity.

The issue Sule was inquiring about was one of the problems they faced: the vertical stabilizers added for aerodynamic optimization blocked the installation of their radar, forcing the disc-shaped radar to be handheld. However, the Deen was designed so that the reconnaissance seat could rotate 90 degrees, allowing for overflight reconnaissance tasks, yet now, the large dish obstructed the view, making it difficult to see anything, which also hindered the aircraft's agility.

As a result, the aerodynamics and radar teams were in constant conflict.

"Then go back and keep thinking about it."

"Huh?"

Wasn't this something he shouldn't have to think about? Was she just passing the buck?

"Huh? Consider it a homework assignment. If you can't figure it out, just bring me a couple of extra dishes with more sour and spicy sauce."

"…Alright."

He su

spected Sule just wanted a couple of extra dishes, but he had no evidence to prove it.
