Chapter 6: Sailing towards Nayori Island
Early the next morning, Whitebeard, Marco, and Vista were on the ship's deck, discussing something significant about Ali. Marco was surprised by what Whitebeard had decided.
"Father, you can't be serious. You were the one who advised Vista to slow down Ali's training to prevent Ali from improving too quickly and becoming arrogant. I acknowledge Ali's incredible talent; his talent gives me a shiver whenever I see him sparring or training with Vista, but he is still too young to learn Haki, even if it was just the basics." Marco said seriously to Whitebeard.
After hearing Marco's words, Whitebeard turned to Vista and inquired, "Vista, are you the one who is training little Ali?" Tell me, what do you think?"
Vista sighed, smiled at Whitebeard, and said to him, "To be honest with you, father, little Ali's talent in swordsmanship is monstrous. In the past, people referred to me as a prodigy when I was a child training in the dojo in my hometown, but Ali is different; he is a freak. He only needs to see the katas or the technique once to learn them. He also created his own techniques at 14 years old. If you hadn't asked me to suppress his growth, father, I believe he would be capable of fighting our lower-tier commanders. I also believe that one day he will be the greatest swordsman and beat Hawkeye."
Marco widened his eyes in shock when he heard Vista's evaluation, and Whitebeard burst out in laughter when he heard this, "GURARARARA, this is expected; after all, little Ali is my son."
Both Marco and Vista smiled when they heard this, and Vista continued, "But, Father, I agree with Marco: little Ali is way too young to learn Haki; he is only 14 years old."
Marco nodded in agreement, and Whitebeard also nodded in understanding. He then said to Vista and Marco, "I agree with you two, but I am only going to teach him the basics of Haki; that's all. The reason I decided to teach him the basics of Haki is because little Ali decided to leave Moby Dick and travel by himself, and I agreed to let him leave after I am sure he can defend himself."
When Vista and Marco heard this, they widened their eyes in shock, and Marco said, "Father, you can't let him go yo he is our little brother yo."
Vista nodded in agreement and said, "I agree with Marco for once; he is not only my little brother but also my apprentice."
Whitebeard smiled softly when he saw how much Vista and Marco cared for Ali. He then said to them, "I have no right to prevent anyone from following their ambition, my sons."
Vista was confused and asked Whitebeard, "What do you mean, father?"
Whitebeard smiled broadly and said, "I have no right to tell you the details; all I am going to say to you is that in order for little Ali to achieve his ambition, he needs to leave Moby Dick."
Marco and Vista were confused when they heard this but nodded to Whitebeard.
Whitebeard then said to Vista, "Vista You are little Ali's teacher. Your job is not only to train little Ali but also to prevent him from walking a wrong path as a swordsman so he could reach his full potential as a swordsman. You need to explain to Ali clearly that as a swordsman, his priority is honing his swordsmanship."
Vista nodded his head seriously in understanding, then he said to Whitebeard, "Don't worry, Father, I was planning on having a serious talk with little Ali and explaining to him clearly why his priority is focusing on swordsmanship."
When Whitebeard heard this, he nodded his head in satisfaction and then said to Marco and Vista, "My sons, you two may leave now, and Marco, go tell the navigator to take us to Nayori Island.
Both Marco and Vista widened their eyes in shock when they heard this, and Marco quickly said to Whitebeard, "Father, Nayori Island is too dangerous for Ali; he could die."
Whitebeard looked sternly at Marco, and he said to him, "Ali needs to experience life and death battles to get stronger and become more mature."
Marco tried to argue with Whitebeard and said, "But father."
Whitebeard waved his hand and glared at Marco. He sighed and said to Marco, "Marco, this is for the good of little Ali. We can't always shelter him; he needs this experience. If we prevent him from experiencing life and death battles, we will harm him, and he will die when he sets out to the real world."
Marco sighed and nodded, then he and Vista left, leaving Whitebeard alone.
