Chapter 39: Chapter 39: Calm Before The Storm
|3rd POV|
Dominik looks at his brother's smug expression with a frown.
"Stop with that smile, Robert, or I will rip your lips out of your face."
Robert, the third son of Lord Tepes, dropped his smile for a second but put it back on a moment later.
"Go ahead. I don't think my father will be pleased with that action. And you already know what happened to someone who made him angry."
Dominik holds himself together and releases a sigh.
"What do you want?"
"I come here to help you defeat those humans, brother. Their continued existence already makes our father angry."
"And how do you want to do that? Do you think we are not fighting them? We are fighting them, but we cannot defeat them. I already lost some of my vampires and undead to them."
"That is the reason why I came here. We will combine our two forces and attack them at once. You can use my undead army as the meat shields."
Unlike Dominik, Robert is not a close-combat fighter. He is more of someone who attacks from a distance, and because of this, he is the one with the biggest number of undead to use as meat shields and attack the enemy using his magic.
"How many of them did you bring?"
"I brought two hundred of them, but I already told the others to bring their undead as well. In a week or two, we will have more or less a thousand undead."
One thousand undead is a threat that can take over a country if it is unleashed into the public. Lucky for the mundane people, even they know that if they do that, the other faction will attack them to make sure the supernatural is hidden from the public view.
While they are an arrogant race, they know that if the other factions attack them at once, there will be no more vampires in the world. Even they know that they cannot beat the Greek and Norse Pantheon.
"You really want to please father, huh?"
"Of course, brother~ I want that crown, after all."
Dominik grits his teeth for a second before releasing a sigh. Out of all seven brothers, he hates Robert the most. He is full of shit and blatantly wants to take over the title of the crown prince of Tepes Clan from him.
If not for his father's order not to kill siblings as long as he lives, he would have killed Robert a long time ago.
"You know what? You can have the command of the army. I will give you direct command in this battle."
"Oh?"
"Yeah. You can use your force in this battle as you wish. I will step back and let you do the work. You want to show your prowess to our father, right? Go ahead."
Robert looks at his older brother in confusion for a second and smiles. In his mind, it is a confirmation that his older brother is an incompetent person unfit for the title of Crown Prince and Heir to the Tepes Clan.
"Kukuku~ You will not regret this, brother. Don't worry. When I get your title, I will give you a territory to command."
Robert says that with a smile on his face, not knowing that Dominik is smirking inside.
'Let's see if you can defeat them, brother. When they destroy your army, I will be the one to have the last laugh,' Dominik says in his mind as he leaves the room.

*BANG* *BANG* *BANG*
I release a sigh after I hit the last target.
"Good job, Kora!"
I look to the side and see Colonnello nodding his head in satisfaction.
"Your reaction time and accuracy get better than before. If only your box weapon gave you a bigger gun, I would train you to be a great sniper, Kora!"
"Thank you, teach. Will this be the last training?"
"For now, yes. I need to train the others as well. Your Storm asked me to teach him how to use other types of guns and some of my fighting techniques."
Because Luca and Colonnello have the same interest in guns, they bond like a leech on my leg. The Rain Arcobaleno also happily indulges him and teaches him a lot of things. Hell, Colonnello even let Luca use one of his guns.
Something that even surprised Reborn.
"Please don't get carried away. It is hard to restore the entire forest you guys destroyed yesterday."
The Rain Arcobaleno looks away and says.
"Yeah. Yeah."
I shake my head and leave the training ground. I grunt a little at the pain from the training Colonnello orders me to do. The training consists of endurance, reaction, and accuracy training. He shoots me with his rifle, and I need to dodge and shoot his attack using my pistol.
It sounds easy, but that bastard is fast and can shoot bullets that can change direction. Not only that, but he also brought out a turret during our training. Even though it is not lethal, my body still gets a good beating in this training.
I can feel my bruise have a bruise from that training.
I release a sigh as I enter the Healing House. One of the healers walks toward me and takes me to my healing pod. I enter the pod and feel my body get washed by Sun Flame. After a few seconds, the pod opened up, and my body healed.
I say my thanks to the healer and walk to my mansion. When I opened the door to my office, I could see Martha and Felicia inside the room doing some paperwork.
"Martha? Felicia? Are you two done training with Reborn?"
Felicia smiles at me and says.
"Yes, my lord~ We finished earlier than usual because Sir Reborn needed to return to Japan to take Madam Aria back to their world."
"Oh? Is there something wrong with Aria?"
"Nothing that needs your attention, my lord. Someone important needs to meet with Aria, so Sir Reborn needs to escort her back."
"I see."
I take my seat and take one of the papers on my table.
"Is there anything I should know?"
Martha looks at me and says.
"We managed to find a company who can produce the majority of our phones, my lord. Do you want to contact them and make a contract with them?"
I nod and say.
"Yes. Take our lawyer and make a contract with them. Where is this company?"
"India."
I blink for a second before saying.
"Are the Hindu Pantheon willing to let us enter their territory?"
"I don't see the reason why they won't let us enter their territory. We are good as long as we do not create a problem in their territory."
"If you say so. Go ahead and tell them to make a contract."
"Of course, my lord."
I look at Felicia and say.
"What about you, Felicia?"
"Something weird is happening in Bucharest, my lord."
I lean forward and say.
"What is it?"
"It is too quiet—no strange movement in the city whatsoever. However, the feeling of dread and cold still hovers around the city. We do not know the reason, and the others do not like it."
I nod and say.
"Take more crew and spread around the city to search for something, anything. Also, tell a group to do some investigation outside Bucharest."
I look at her right in the eyes and say.
"When they find something, tell them to return and report back to me immediately. I have bad feelings about this, and I want everyone to stay alert."
