When My Enemies Began to Regret

Chapter 4 - 2. I’m Part of the Advance Team. (1)

Fanora spent her day figuring out whether this was reality or a dream. In the past, she would have suffered from seasonal fever so she needed to go to bed early, but it didn’t happen this time.

She stayed awake late into the night as her excitement peaked at the thought of getting rid of her enemies, despite her poor health. However…

“Hmm?”

The moment whenshe still hadn’t yet adapted to the strange phenomenon of regression, something even more bizarre happened. It was exactly 12 o’clock at night.

Twang.

As the hour hand of the giant wall clock in the hallway pointed to 12 o’clock, something unprecedented happened before her eyes.

<…>

<…>

<Transfer completed>

<You can enjoy today’s free chapter.>

<Do you want to read the first chapter of Dangerous Love?

(Yes/No) >

As soon as Fanora saw this, she trembled and got up from her seat, just like anyone would do if a white text suddenly appeared in front of their eyes.

“!?” She blinked her eyes and even wiped her eyes, but the text in the air didn’t disappear.

“Huh?”

<Do you want to read the first chapter of Dangerous Love?

(Yes/No) >

Even when she looked back and forth, the mysterious text didn’t change. Closing her eyes reflexively, Fanora began to think. From the fact that she killed a person and went back to the past, she didn’t expect to go through hallucinations like now.

Oh my gosh. I’m really becoming crazy.

When she opened her eyes again, the text was still floating in front of her.

“Free chapter…”

Fanora tilted her head to the side as she started skimming through the text. Even when she calmed down and read the text again, she couldn’t quite understand the meaning of those sentences.

“Read?”

Is this a dream or a hallucination?

As if it was not enough for her to go back to the past, a glowing text popped up in front of her at 12 o’clock that night.

“What does it mean?”

Fanora decided to act on her own as the text didn’t disappear no matter how much time passed. If it was her in the past, she wouldn’t dare to touch the text as she was a coward. But after killing Haures, there was nothing she was afraid of.

“It’s only a text in my head anyway. It’s not like I’m going to die from it, right?”

As she muttered some self-assuring words and there was no response from the text in front of her, she reached into the air and poked the text.

“What is it? Let’s see… Yes! Let’s read it!” At the same time, she mumbled to herself like a crazy person.

After a while.

“!”

Twitch.

As her finger accidentally brushed the word ‘yes’, the number of words in front of her eyes increased instantly. It couldn’t even compare to the previous text.

~Dangerous Love~

Chapter 1

#1. The Mansion of the Duke Guelder

In the gorgeous room, Vasago raised her body from the bed. Next to her stood a servant who brought washing water for her.

Servant: You’re awake.

Vasago: Aah! How could I procrastinate right now? This day finally has come. After the celebration of my 16th birthday, I will be recognized as the successor.

Servant: Even Master will be impressed when he sees Lady has grown up.

Vasago: Did my cousin say he could come today?

Servant: Yes!

Vasago: You go down first and prepare the dress for the celebration. I have to say my greetings to my father.

The servant put down the washing water and left the room.

#2. Hall on the First Floor of the Mansion

Vasago: Father!

Eyal: Baby, virtuous nobles don’t run around making such a loud noise.

Vasago. But I wanted to say my greetings to Father before anyone else. But, what is that letter you’re holding in your hand?

Eyal: It’s sad news about the jousting tournament, which should be a sacred duel, is being tainted by the greed for wealth.

Vasago: Hasn’t it been a long time since the jousting tournament became a game for gamblers.

Eyal came to Vasago’s side and tapped her on the shoulder with a sad expression.

Eyal: The problem is this time it was revealed that a certain knight received money from the noble to manipulate the victory. It was said that the King, who was enraged by this, arrested a large number of the manipulated participants. But, Preta’s friend, who was innocent, was unjustly taken along. Preta rushed to the capital to speak for him.

Vasago: Does that mean brother Preta can’t come to my celebration today!

Vasago became angry with it.>

“…!”

Naverius!

Her fiancé’s name was written at the top.

“This… how…”

If it was only her fiance’s name there, it might be just a coincidence. “Vasago… Aloken…” But the characters’ names were named after the nobles she knew.

What is this!

Could it be this novel created by imagination?

Fanora thought like that at first. However, the content was quite specific. It even listed the names of people she didn’t know.

It definitely said ‘transfer completed’ earlier. What does that mean?

For a moment, she thought over the first message that had unfolded before this text came to her mind. Of course, nothing was clear in the current situation.

…No. I might be out of my mind right now. Ah, that’s right. Let’s write it down somewhere for now. I need to check it out with a clear mind after waking up. If it was written because I’m out of my mind, it would look strange when I read it in the morning.

Eventually, she decided to write down the text. After she finished it all, she closed her eyes tightly and lay down to stop looking at the text.

* * *

“Lady Fanora? I brought the washing water.”

Fanora was reading the morning newspaper. This newspaper, which had been published under the council not long ago, contained news of famous people’s marriages within the Kingdom, records of wanted criminals, and major events that should be known throughout the Kingdom.

“…” Fanora silently read the newspaper in her hand for a while. After that, she washed her face with the ice-like water brought by the servant.

What was the thing I saw yesterday?

As soon as she woke up in the morning, she remembered everything that had happened at midnight. When she read the paper she had hidden under the pillow, she realized it wasn’t a dream.

However, what surprised her more was that the news mentioned in today’s newspaper was the same incident in the novel.

The King was angry at the fraudulent jousting, which should be a sacred duel between knights.

It wasn’t until her debutante that she started reading a newspaper. That meant Fanora never saw this newspaper when she was 15 years old.

“…”

She skimmed through other vulgar information in the newspaper and raised her head only after the servant had left her room.

An event that I don’t remember matches the text I saw yesterday?

She crumpled the newspaper then stopped by the mansion’s library to search through the list of nobles.

Vasago’s relatives… No way. There’s really a man named Preta among her relatives!

This was also evidence that proved what she had seen in the midnight wasn’t a hallucination.

Returning to her room, she plopped down on the bed. After she started thinking about it, she came to this conclusion.

Maybe it’s not a dream, but reality?

At this point, it wouldn’t be bizarre to guess that the text came to her at midnight might be magic.

“Magic. It’s magic.”

But soon, her brow furrowed.

Is it because of magic that I remembered my past life? I don’t really want something like that.

She returned to her past after suffering, so she couldn’t miss this chance.

“I need power to take revenge. For example…” While thinking about it, she spat out the thing she was aiming for. “Holy relic.”

Fanora already accepted the fact that she went back to the past, so what happened last night was easily accepted.

“Io… It is definitely unknown at this time, right?”

Because in this world, there was nothing besides the holy relics that allowed humans to use magic.

* * *

“Among the three holy relics of God, I have finally found the one that Your Majesty desired the most!”

“Ooh! Sir, your hard work has borne fruit! It’s not enough just to bestow you with a title, I will hold a congratulatory ball for you!”

A long time ago, there was an omnipotent being who took care of the earth. They called this being the Mother Goddess, who created the world and took good care of it. However, God has never rested in a thousand years, so one day it decided to take a long slumber.

During that time, human’s intelligence developed day by day and was already in the state of tribal society. Among them, those who were especially outstanding became the heads of the group and led their men well, so God thought that they could develop on their own. But, as their parents, its worries were endless.

Worried that a disaster might strike while it was sleeping and annihilate them, God gave them with some of its power before slumber. The three most outstanding heads of the beginning of mankind were given tools that could interfere with the laws of the world.

God divided it into three people, and it was today’s ‘Holy Relics’. The name of the holy relict was based on the name of the person who owned it, but it wasn’t clear as it was an old story passed down as a legend.

“With this, it wouldn’t be a dream for our Kingdom to become more prosperous and strong to unify the world!’

“That’s right, Your Majesty!”

Those holy relics were called Io, Ganimed, and Europa. Their powers have had a number of impacts on human history.

Europe could interfere with the laws of time in the world. Ganimede could control the space. And Io was said to control strength.

“Io, a holy relic that is said to give you superhuman strength. With this, we will win any war!”

“Glory to the Kingdom of Kasius!”

“Eternal Glory!”

The holy relic that Fanora was currently aiming for also was Io.

* * *

Io. The holy relic was originally discovered two years later by the knights ordered by the King to search for the holy relic.

If that’s the case, they wouldn’t even find a clue at this time.

Fanora once imagined those holy relics could change her life. What if she went to the King with her current memories and disclosed the whereabouts of the holy relic first? Should she chase for money and honor instead?

Io. As long as I have that holy relic that’s said to give you superhuman strength…

However, that was usually a delusion that would never come true.  Aside from the crime of stealing it, it was impossible to tell them about her past memories.

As long as I have that holy relic!

The current Fanora fulfilled all the conditions to have that. She knew where the holy relic was and as she decided to take revenge, there was no longer any need to be conscientious.

It’s none of my business who was the knight that was supposed to be promoted from finding it.

She didn’t care if that knight would wander around the world for the rest of his life to find it.

It would be helpful if news about me finding the holy relic would spread out.

She needed power anyway. Of course, if she started training and changed what she eats, she would be able to gain a certain level of strength. However, no matter how hard she trained, it would be difficult to have enough physical strength to defeat people who were threatening her life 100%.

I needed strength anyway. Of course, if I start training and change what I eat from now on, I will be able to gain a certain level of muscle strength. However, no matter how hard I train, it’s difficult to have enough physical strength to 100% defeat my enemies that threaten my life.

If I don’t have strength, I might end up getting caught killing someone. Besides, the more she has strength, the wider range of means she could do, and it may make it difficult to estimate the perpetrator.

What she wanted was the power to completely subdue the other person and take their lives.

“I don’t have time to procrastinate. Let’s move right away tomorrow.”

Fanora was determined to acquire the holy relic that would help her more than anything else. It wasn’t as difficult as she thought to steal it from its future owner.
