When Love and Fire Meet

Chapter 10: The Journey to Kings Landing

I stood up from my bed, and my legs gave out as I tried to stand. The lady-in-waiting came over to me and helped me stand. I smiled. "Thank you, Elizabeth." I leaned on her for a moment. "Did I miss anything?"

Elizabeth nodded. "Yes, my Lady. Everyone has left Winterfell to make the journey to Kings Landing."

I nod. "Oh. Do you mind getting Robb for me?"

Elizabeth smiled. "Of course, my Lady. Just wait here." She helped me sit down on a chair near the door. Before leaving the room to see if she could find Robb.

Meanwhile, King Robert and Ned made their way to the capital along with the royal company. Robert looked at Ned as they stopped briefly to let the horses drink water from the nearby stream. "Ned, why didn't you mention that Winterfell was guarded by a dragon? You know as well as I that dragons have been dead since the reign of the Mad King."

Ned nodded. "Aye. So they were. It seemed that Feiro's existence had brought back magic. I can not deny that having one guarding the North is a good thing. Who knows, maybe the Wildlings and The White Walkers will not show their faces."

The King looked at him. "Ned, The White Walkers haven't been seen in thousands of years. They don't exist."

"You don't know that, Robert. Every child in the North is taught that the Wildlings and The White Walkers could come back. We need to be ready. I think that Feiro is the perfect guardian."

Not far from from both men Barbara and Joffery were sparing. Being the eldest and the heiress to the Iron Throne, Barabra wanted to make sure that she was up to date on her sword training. She couldn't help but smile as she trained with her younger brother. Barbara sidestepped as Joffery attempted to land a blow on her. As she landed a small tap on her brother's leg, she noticed that he was getting distracted. She sheathed her sword. "What are you thinking about Joff?"

Joffery turned. "It's none of your concern." He didn't want to talk to his sister as if she had injured his pride by challenging him to a sparing match.

Barbara stood there as she watched her brother leave. "What the hell was that all about? It was just a question. Gods, I wish he wasn't just a crybaby about everything."
