Chapter 44: The Scandal
Taking this last step was dangerous—not just for me, but for everything I had built. My image, my business, my entire reputation was at stake. If things spiraled out of control, there would be no turning back.
I called Aryan to my place. He arrived hurriedly, concern evident in his eyes.
Aryan: "What happened?"
Me: "It's urgent."
Aryan: "What is it?"
I was about to speak when his phone rang. He glanced at the screen, his face instantly paling. I watched as he hesitated before answering. His voice was tense, his breathing uneven.
I didn't need to hear the conversation to know something was terribly wrong.
When the call ended, he sat down on the bed, visibly shaken.
Me: "Aryan… is this about our pictures?"
His head snapped up. Aryan: "How do you know?"
I exhaled slowly. Me: "That's why I called you. But first, tell me—why do you look so shocked?"
His voice was barely above a whisper. Aryan: "My family and relatives… they saw our compromising videos and photos."
A chill ran down my spine, though I kept my face calm. Me: "What?"
Aryan: "Yes… somehow, they got leaked."
My jaw clenched. Me: "My family received them too."
Silence. The weight of the situation pressed down on us.
Aryan: "What do we do now?"
I took a deep breath. Me: "We talk to our elders."
Aryan: "You're right. Let's call them together."
Me: "I'll inform my parents to come tomorrow."
Aryan: "Then I'll call mine too."
I met his eyes and spoke firmly. Me: "Aryan, I know this is a big deal for a middle-class family. Especially for a girl. But don't worry—my parents trust me. They know I take my own decisions."
He sighed, rubbing his forehead. Aryan: "I know… and I'm ready to face all the consequences."
I leaned in and hugged him tightly. Me: "It's okay, everything will be fine."
Just then, his phone buzzed.
Aryan glanced at the screen—and in an instant, his expression changed. His grip on the phone tightened, tension flooding his face.
I wrapped my arms around him again, resting my chin on his shoulder.
And as he remained frozen, lost in thought, I smiled—a slow, villainous smile.
