Warhammer: Lord of the Endless Monster Horde

Chapter 80: Warhammer: Lord of the Endless Monster Horde [80]

Rhodes couldn't replicate this kind of monster capsule, but he still had confidence in Balt, even though he was only a biology expert.

That didn't mean he wasn't proficient in other areas—after all if he could create Zetton, studying a monster capsule shouldn't be a problem. It was all within the same field anyway. If the scientists of the Land of Light could do it, there was no reason he couldn't!

While Rhodes was extracting monsters, the Dark Eldar had already piloted their spaceship back to the main city, Commorragh.

The fleet of interstellar pirates scattered, and the fleet assembled by the Arena Queen, Lelith, also returned to their respective factions. Some of them were part of the city lord's army, while others belonged to various Warlock sects or shadow organizations. They had temporarily formed a slave-hunting team under Lelith's call.

Lelith personally transported the massive Bemstar to her exclusive arena and then locked it up in the largest prison.

"Don't worry, my big baby. Mommy will come to see you later. Just lie here for a while." Lelith patted the cage, a slight smile appearing on her lips as she looked at the Bemstar inside.

This big guy was simply too enormous, and its combat power was frighteningly high.

If she could defeat it in single combat, it would grant her unimaginable prestige, more fans, and even more souls.

A giant beast of this size would undoubtedly bring an unprecedented spectacle to the entire Commorragh Arena.

Next, she needed to meet with her sponsor, Vect, and then start preparing for a grand competition in the near future.

"You guys, keep an eye on the big guy. Activate the restriction force field around it and raise the defense level to the highest setting.

This big guy is incredibly strong, and it can fly. If it escapes, capturing it again would be a nightmare." Lelith turned to her subordinates and instructed them.

"Rest assured, great Arena Queen, Lady Lelith. We will watch over this creature carefully."

"Good! I'm going to see the city lord." Lelith nodded and left her residence impatiently, heading towards her sponsor—Vect, the nominal ruler of Commorragh City.

Meanwhile, Rhodes activated his ship's stealth mode and carefully docked it on a small asteroid. This asteroid was positioned about two astronomical units away from Commoragh City.

The distance was safe enough, and there were plenty of large asteroids around to provide cover. Generally, no Dark Eldar's private ships would come around this area.

After securing the ship, Rhodes headed to the second-floor hall, where he observed the Deathwatch Chaplain who had already awakened.

The Deathwatch Space Marines were reporting to their Chaplain about everything that had happened while he was unconscious.

The Emperor's Chosen had appeared, capable of controlling giant bio-weapons and wielding divine machinery of immense power.

He also possessed weapons similar to the phase teleportation technology of the Necrons and commanded human ships from the Golden Age.

After the Emperor's Chosen appeared, they followed him to destroy several Tyranid Hive Ships, forcing the entire Tyranid fleet to retreat—securing an unimaginable victory.

"How is this possible?! There were fewer than fifty of you, and you accomplished this?" Chaplain Magro asked in disbelief.

It was utterly surreal—like waking up and being told that a few dozen people had defeated an army of millions.

"Hahaha! Chaplain, we were just assisting. The one who dealt the most damage to the Tyranid swarm was the great Emperor's Chosen, Lord Rhodes." A Deathwatch Space Marine from the Space Wolves Chapter replied.

"Chaplain Magro, I know this is hard to believe, but all our battle-brothers can testify to it. We have already made our decision—

In the future, we will pledge our loyalty to the Emperor's Chosen and assist him in carrying out the Emperor's secret missions." Titus spoke solemnly.

"My mind is about to explode... The information you've given me is... just too overwhelming." Chaplain Magro rubbed his temples.

Was this man truly the Emperor's Chosen?

In the psychic communication channel, he had indeed seen the golden light belonging to the Emperor and had suspected that this person might be the Emperor's Chosen.

But he never imagined that this Emperor's Chosen would come to save them.

"No need to doubt, Chaplain Magro. If you need proof, I can show you."

Rhodes appeared in the hall, channeling his psychic energy. A golden radiance surged from his body, gradually forming a hazy golden humanoid figure behind him.

This was a new way of manifesting the Emperor's golden psychic power. Rhodes had never seen the Emperor's true appearance,

but as long as he formed a massive golden silhouette, the others could fill in the details with their imagination.

"The Emperor! The great Emperor above!"

Seeing the golden figure formed purely from the Emperor's psychic energy, Chaplain Magro and the Deathwatch members were overwhelmed with emotion and immediately kneeled.

That golden psychic energy, as warm as the sun; that terrifying power; that golden, indistinct figure—

it could only be the ruler of humanity, the Emperor Himself.

"Praise the great Emperor! Lord Rhodes, was it you who spoke with me through the psychic communication?" Chaplain Magro knelt on one knee before Rhodes, asking in awe.

When he first woke up, he had harbored some doubt—questioning whether this Emperor's Chosen was real.

But now, after seeing this golden psychic energy and the figure behind Rhodes, he was certain—Rhodes' power came from the Emperor.

"It's understandable. When someone first hears that an Emperor's Chosen has appeared, their first instinct is to suspect a fraud."

Rhodes chuckled and retracted his golden psychic energy.

"Please forgive my rudeness, great Emperor's Chosen. Praise the great Emperor! I just never imagined that you would personally come to save me." Magro remained kneeling.

"I don't blame you—it's only natural. Rise, all of you." Rhodes smiled and helped the kneeling warriors to their feet.

"Yes, I did communicate with you through the psychic channel. When I learned that you were in danger, I immediately reported your situation to the Imperium.

But you know how slow the Imperium's bureaucracy is—your rescue request would have been queued for decades before the Imperial Navy arrived.

And your planet wouldn't have lasted even a few more days. So I had no choice but to come myself.

The great Emperor has entrusted me with a sacred mission, and I need the help of Guilliman's sons—as well as the sons of other loyal Primarchs."

"Lord Rhodes, are you going to resurrect our gene-father, the great Roboute Guilliman?" Magro asked.

Although Titus and the Deathwatch members had already told him about this, he still wanted to confirm it personally.

"I keep my promises—Roboute Guilliman will awaken in the final year of the 41st Millennium."

"In that case, my lord, I have no doubts. Please allow me to follow you and contribute my humble efforts to the resurrection of the Emperor's divine son."

"Hahaha! That's more like it, Chaplain! You should have believed us sooner instead of making the Emperor's Chosen convince you personally." A Space Wolves Deathwatch Marine laughed.

"Lord Rhodes! I heard that you also plan to improve the Space Marine augmentation procedures.

And that the one overseeing this project is a top-tier human biologist who has been in stasis since the Golden Age?" Magro asked.

Other Chaplains would have outright rejected such an idea. Even he would have, under normal circumstances.

But if the one proposing it was the Emperor's Chosen—and if the scientist in charge was from the Golden Age—then perhaps it wasn't impossible after all.

"That's right. The Space Marine augmentation procedure is part of the Emperor's will, as well as the will of the Primarchs.

You'll learn more details in the future. For now, just cooperate with Master Balt and complete the procedure."

"Praise the Emperor! If it is His command, we will fully cooperate with the Golden Age master on the Space Marine augmentation improvements."

Rhodes nodded, chatted with the Space Marines for a while, granted them free access to the second deck, and then headed to Balt's lab.

The transformation here has already been preliminarily completed. The medical pods that were dismantled earlier have been converted into Petri dishes, and various alien instruments have been organized and set up by Balt.

On the operating table, there are even two unconscious members of the Deathwatch lying there. These two Deathwatch members have already undergone minor dissection experiments, allowing them to gain a better understanding of the modification procedures of these interstellar warriors by Balt.

He even extracted the superhuman organs from their bodies and placed them in petri dishes for analysis. In any case, as long as there are Pedan medical pods around, no matter how they tinker with these individuals, they won't die.

When they wake up later, they will have no idea that many of their superhuman organs have already been removed and analyzed.
