Warhammer: Lord of the Endless Monster Horde

Chapter 50: Warhammer: Lord of the Endless Monster Horde [50]

Some scattered Tyranid troops on the ground had been completely abandoned, and even the Tyranid's will was no longer commanding them—because a certain giant bird was wildly preying on them.

Rhodes spent 1,000 system coins to enhance Bemstar's height, allowing the giant bird to continue hunting the Tyranid troops on the planet's surface.

Then, he let out a sigh of relief, slumping into the cockpit as if a heavy burden had been lifted. He wiped the sweat from his forehead and gasped for breath.

That was close! He had almost pushed himself to the limit!

That last Super Metallium Ray was the final attack from Ace Robot, which Rhodes had already strengthened to its maximum level. He had no means left for a rapid energy recovery.

If the Tyranid had continued their assault, Rhodes would have only had two options: strengthen the Pedan Mothership and counterattack with its Pedanium Main Cannon, or use the remaining system coins to summon a new monster.

Although the Tyranid had been repelled, this was only temporary. The Tyranid Fleet had retreated a single Astronomical Unit away, merely reconsidering their strategy for dealing with him.

Rhodes couldn't afford to show any signs of weakness. He quickly recalled Ace Robot into the system space to let it recover energy.

In the system space, as long as a mechanical or organic monster remained for 24 hours, it would recover from normal injuries and regain its energy.

Since he could no longer continuously fire Super Metallium Rays, it was time to consider a new tactical approach.

Rhodes glanced at his system coin balance and smirked.

This battle had been incredibly risky, but the rewards were just as great. The destruction of over a dozen Tyranid motherships and biological warships had earned him 260,000 system coins.

Even after spending nearly 100,000 coins to upgrade Ace Robot to its ultimate form, his actual earnings from this battle totaled at least 370,000 system coins.

It was time to spend some money. Rhodes immediately invested 30,000 system coins to upgrade his spaceship comprehensively.

A flash of golden light enveloped the ship, increasing its diameter to 80 meters and its surface area to 5,024 square meters.

Its height expanded to over ten meters, and the internal space was now large enough to accommodate 3,000 passengers—qualifying it as a large Pedan spaceship. If further upgraded, it would transform into a mothership-class vessel.

A 100,000 system coin upgrade would push it into mothership-class, a significant leap forward.

Even the smallest motherships far surpassed large spacecraft, serving as true flagships of space fleets and bases for expeditionary battle groups.

Following standard procedure, Rhodes stowed away the captain's teleportation bracelet and the officer's teleportation bracelet, along with their weapons.

He also transferred all the newly refreshed Pedan weaponry inside the ship into King Joe's chest compartment—free equipment had to be collected!

After completing these tasks, Rhodes immediately initiated another round of upgrades, spending 100,000 system coins to further enhance the Pedan spaceship.

A golden light enveloped the spacecraft again as the Pedan Mothership upgrade commenced.

The ship underwent massive structural changes—its armor became more resilient, its interior more spacious, and its shape transformed. Instead of a simple disc, it now had four rectangular extensions protruding outward.

The Pedan spaceship had truly evolved—it was now a space mothership, albeit the smallest-class one.

Its diameter increased to 200 meters, with a total surface area reaching a staggering amount—equivalent to four and a half standard soccer fields.

Its height reached approximately 30 meters, and its internal structure expanded to seven levels. (Some people might think a 200-meter diameter is small, but converting it to square meters tells a different story—a full-sized soccer field is only 7,000 square meters).

The passenger capacity expanded to 10,000, and it now came with five small Pedan spacecraft, each 10 meters in diameter. However, these five ships could not be upgraded, as they were considered part of the mothership itself.

What a pity! If those five ships could be strengthened, Rhodes would have struck gold.

However, King Joe's fragments had started appearing again. If he could gather enough fragments, he could assemble another King Joe, which would come with another Pedan spaceship.

I won't stop at just one mothership! The true value of King Joe was that it came with a spaceship!

The small Pedan mothership's main cannon was upgraded to two barrels, increasing its firepower beyond King Joe.

Meanwhile, the Pedanium Ray secondary cannons increased to twelve, and energy shields were further reinforced. Now, Rhodes no longer had to fear the firepower of Tyranid bio-escort ships.

Now THIS is what a proper alien mothership should look like!

The fifth upgrade would require 200,000 system coins to advance to a medium-sized mothership, while the sixth ultimate upgrade would cost 1,000,000 coins to become a large mothership.

For now, Rhodes didn't have enough coins, and it wasn't necessary yet—this small mothership was sufficient for the time being. Still, he eagerly anticipated upgrading it to a large mothership in the future.

The Pedan mothership also provided top-tier equipment for its soldiers and officers.

The mothership captain's armor was now sleek, metallic, and highly advanced, offering thicker plating and significantly enhanced defense. It even featured an energy shield that could be activated around the wearer's body for additional protection.

Rhodes put on the armor and found it lightweight and extremely comfortable as if it did not weight at all.

The mothership captain's teleportation bracelet had also turned golden, allowing for over 100 teleportations within a single planet, and instantaneous returns to the mothership from anywhere within the star system.

Additionally, the golden teleportation bracelet could teleport a 200-man team along with him, enabling group boarding assaults.

If combined with other teleportation bracelets, this group size could be increased. The older teleportation bracelets had now reached a total of 10.

Rhodes was also equipped with a visually stunning Pedanium Pistol, boasting far greater firepower than the previous captain's sidearm.

I wonder what would happen if I shot a Tyranid straight on? I should find an opportunity to test it!

Even regular soldiers had received upgraded weapons.

In addition to their standard rifles, they now carried shoulder-mounted Pedanium rocket launchers, which fired powerful Pedanium energy beams. These weapons required two operators, but stronger individuals could likely use them alone—perhaps interstellar marines could handle them solo.

The storage bay was now stocked with powerful timed bombs, far superior to the Imperial thermite bombs.

What if I used a teleportation bracelet to place these timed bombs inside a Tyranid mothership?

That would be a different kind of boarding operation, but it would also be extremely risky—after all, each Tyrand mothership housed a Norn Queen.

These Norn Queens were colossal creatures standing 150 to 200 meters tall—true monsters.
