Chapter 18: Artifacts Acquired
"Alright you can go wait in the side room. Be careful how much you advance while you're there. But you should cultivate since this will take a moment." Xiu Lui said, shoving me out of the room.
I guess I should go and practice. Perhaps I can advance by a layer or two with a place so dense and rich as this room. Though the senior did warn me about the danger that lay hidden in such a place. It wasn't dangerous to everyone. No, just those who were below… well… the open heaven Realm. Still though I decided to take a shot in the dark at such an opportunity.
I sat down inside the room and focused deeply. The energy that surrounded me was nothing short of intense and powerful. It gave me shivers all up my spine. I had to circulate my strength in order to handle this new massive power that began to well up within me. A day later and I could feel that I had grown perfectly accustomed to my realm.
The amount of Qi I had in my body was shocking. Yet somehow I felt completely comfortable with this new degree of power. I decided to go outside to wait since I felt strange. It was almost like a breakthrough was about to happen. That's not something I'd like to have happen when in a confined space. Even though there wasn't really any benefit to it. I just preferred to not feel confined.
I walked outside of the Artifact Hall. I had forgotten just how desolate the world outside was. My face must have looked depressed since I could see the looks from a few others. So this is the degree of destruction that I will stand against one day. I guess I should prepare my strength with this in mind.
At that moment I was promoted to the 3rd layer in a smooth exhale. As if at peace seeing what I must eventually fight one day. It almost felt like the heavens themselves were tempting me to advance.
"My training… I'll need a sturdy opponent who can drop me in place as easy as breathing. It would be best if I had multiple of these kinds of people." I said out loud, without realizing that I did.
"It seems like you aren't turned away by the evil that exists out there." Gao Sang said, appearing behind me.
"Senior, I won't let anything stand in my way. Rather now I know what it is I will fight in the future I know how to prepare in advance. Though if I could find a way to neutralize their ink force perhaps it will become magnitudes easier." I said, deep in thought.
"Your father Yang Kai has the power of the light of purification. Perhaps since you're his son you might have a similar ability in the future." Gao Sang said, then check my cultivation.
"If this is indeed the case it seems I'll have to advance." I said, punching my fists together.
"Don't rush your cultivation too much, you never know what hidden dangers may arise if you're not careful." Gao Sang said. He said this since he saw me promote so fast I was already rapidly approaching the 4th layer all from a simple conversation.
"I thank Senior for Seniors' words. And I won't advance any faster than I can handle." I said, and Gao Sang nodded then disappeared again.
Seriously I feel like an ant in the middle of a stampede. Everyone around me is completely beyond my comprehension. Such an amazing power. I must have it for myself. I wonder how my father will train me? That place must be an excellent place to stay and practice. I wonder if he will pass on his attainments in the Dao of Time to me? Oh whatever, I'll just continue to practice.
Two weeks passed and Xiu Lui found me. She had a grin from ear to ear. It was clear to see she had an excellent result. I was excited to see these results. After all they were weapons crafted by someone so powerful and skilled it should be reasonable to assume that the results would be outstanding.
She presented the spear first. "This is a peak mid rank Artifact and boasts quite a vast amount of power. I'm certain that with it in your possession. You'll find fighting above your realm a fair bit easier." Xiu Lui said, handing me the spear.
"This spear is truly amazing. Thank you Senior, Xiu. I'll be sure to master its use in short order." I said, as I started playing with it. "This is great! It feels as if it's resonating with… Senior Xiu made a spear that resonates with my Dao." I said after using it in a few motions.
She simply smiled with pride as she presented the hammer. "This is a high Rank Artifact. Since I managed to create this I have a good chance of breaking through soon." She said full of glee.
I took the Hammer and instantly felt the resonance with my true body. "This hammer feels as if I have found a missing part of myself." I said, tearing up, before doing a few moves. "These weapons are perfect fits for me as if they were my left and right arm!" I added.
"Good, The Spear of Eternity and the Hammer of Infinity. I created them to suit you. It is very likely no one else will be to wield these mighty weapons. So make them claim their fair share of ink blood when you grow in the future." Xiu Lui said, motioning that it was time to leave.
"Thank you again senior. I won't let these go to waste." I said.
I then left since I could hear Senior Tang calling for me. I reunited with him and then the two of us flew off. Leaving Gao Sang and Xiu Lui there.
"What do you think the future will hold Xiu Lui? That boy's future I mean." Gao Sang asked for another opinion.
"From what I saw the weight of both weapons didn't even phase him. He even managed to swing them around and gain their approval without having refined them first. His future in short, is as a mighty pillar." Xiu Lui said, not thinking about anything else. "If there had been a young man like him in my generation he would have had the eyes of all the women." she then added.
Tang Qiu and I landed back where Yang Kai was. He was still sitting there doing nothing. I had an odd urge to tickle him until the scent of steamed buns filled the air. I floated along with the scent to the place where they were being made by the super gorgeous lady from before.
"Oh you want to try my buns?" She said, with a light smirk
"I love buns." I said, salivating.
"He really is just like her, isn't he." she thought to herself.
