Chapter 29: Marriage

The legal steps to marriage for two husbands began with scheduling a pre-marital health check-up with the doctor. The next day, they brought their personal documents to the marriage registry office to receive their marriage certificate, followed by the wedding ceremony.

As Xi Tian tied his tie in front of the mirror, his mood was surprisingly calm—so calm it was almost unbelievable.

First attempt and the tie was successfully knotted!

Much better than Ellis. Despite waking up earlier than Xi Tian, Ellis was still busy trying on and changing clothes.

He had already switched ties several times, struggling to tie the knot on the first one.

But his belt was perfectly fastened.

After their medical examination results came back yesterday, Xi Tian refrained from doing anything before bed to ensure he was well-rested for their registration the next day.

However, Xi Tian did enjoy loosening his belt.

Ellis remained frantic, rushing in and out. Although he had already shipped most of his dormitory clothes back home, Ellis found them too outdated and ordered a variety of new clothes and accessories, as well as reordered skincare products.

The selection was overwhelming, leaving Xi Tian speechless. He had thought all females were rough and masculine, yet here was Ellis, meticulous and refined.

Seeing Xi Tian’s amazed expression, Ellis awkwardly explained that he had picked up these habits when he was younger.

Xi Tian maintained an air of mystery and, when Ellis wasn’t looking, secretly applied a fragrant white cream to smell it and was once again amazed. He made up his mind never to apply such things to his face in the future.

Finally, Ellis emerged with a new pair of cufflinks, looking very refined.

They arrived at the marriage registry earlier than scheduled, with several other nervous couples waiting ahead of them.

Among them was a couple who had taken pictures with Xi Tian before. One of them, along with his partner, was eagerly waiting.

The partner was a female with an extraordinary aura.

On zerg Star, marriages between the same genders were not legally recognized, but heterosexual marriages were legal.

When the female saw Xi Tian, they were almost startled. The other couples also turned to look at them, unable to conceal their amazement when they saw Xi Tian’s appearance.

“Do you… do you remember me?” The female asked with a smile. The other couples also exclaimed in surprise when they saw Xi Tian’s appearance.

Ellis sounded the alarm, tightening his grip on Xi Tian’s arm. Nearby, Xi Tian asked, “Do I know you?”

“I took a photo with you a week ago at the military hospital,” The female replied, making a distressed expression when he showed no recollection.

“I was a nurse in Captain Ellis’s ward,” He clarified. His smile when he recognized Xi Tian was evident, causing the zerg by his side to switch instantly into a defensive stance.

Ellis raised his head, smiling sharply. The other person’s expression darkened briefly before returning to a composed demeanor.

Xi Tian was accustomed to being the center of attention and paid it no mind. He leaned close to Ellis and whispered, “Do you remember him? I have no memory of this at all.”

“It was a trivial matter, not worth remembering,” Ellis replied steadily, his gaze unwavering.

“True, I’ve never been good at remembering people.”

Xi Tian chuckled quietly.

Meanwhile, the nurse was about to say something but was pulled back by his partner.

In a moment of boredom, Xi Tian took Ellis’s hand, tracing stars in his palm and exchanging a few whispered words. Onlookers envied their intimacy.

Soon after, the office door opened. A female office worker softly bid farewell to the exiting couple, calling the next pair.

The nurse and his partner were precisely that, stepping out. Judging by their height and physique, they were a typical male-female pair.

The male, short and lean, wore sunglasses and sparkly earrings on his earlobes and cartilage. He walked proudly, followed by a submissive female.

As they passed by Xi Tian, he remarked, “Huh, two females daring to come here, how embarrassing!”

The female behind him was evidently a military female, walking with steady and powerful steps, each step precise.

Xi Tian couldn’t be bothered to glance at him and continued tracing stars in Ellis’s palm.

“Just a commoner, yet acting so arrogant.”

The male clicked his tongue, removed his sunglasses, and looked up, “No wonder you’re so rude. You didn’t answer my question. You must have grown up on growth hormones, didn’t you?”

Suddenly, the male’s face changed. He grabbed Xi Tian’s collar. Ellis exploded instantly, his palm slapping the male. The military officer rushed forward, calmly intercepting Ellis’s hand.

Ellis probably didn’t use much force, assuming the male was fragile.

The two females faced off.

“It’s you, Xi Tian! A guy like you should roll back to your barbaric homeland. How dare you stay in Siming and register with some blind person you’ve fooled!” The male sneered at Ellis.

Xi Tian remained calm, holding the male’s hand and gradually exerting pressure. While not as strong as a female’s, Xi Tian’s grip was enough to make the male uncomfortable.

“Do we know each other?”

“Fine! Fine, Xi Tian! You’re still pretending not to recognize me now, you’re just as nauseating as before!”

The male struggled, gritting his teeth to free his hand from Xi Tian’s grasp, saying, “Xi Tian, you just wait for me!”

With that, he left in a huff.

Xi Tian’s hand, strained from excessive force, remarked coldly, “I wonder where this lunatic came from.”

His voice was just loud enough for the male, who was reaching the door, to hear.

The male, impatient, shouted to the female military officer behind him, “Why aren’t you keeping up, are you trying to piss me off?!”

The officer, surprisingly, glanced apologetically at Xi Tian before hurrying to catch up.

A hint of coldness appeared between Xi Tian’s brows, his beautiful face turning sharp. “He’s crazy!”

It was the first time Ellis had seen Xi Tian angry, and he was startled, stammering as he tried to comfort Xi Tian.

Better not to comfort, Xi Tian was still angry, and he was annoyed with Ellis.

Xi Tian rarely became angry, but when he did, he tended to lash out at nearby objects, as he did with Ellis.

He pulled Ellis close, kissed deeply, and Ellis was almost unable to resist.

When Ellis was released, he took a while to regain his senses, the glances he sneaked at those around him pretending not to have noticed, even to the point of quietly recording it.

After a while, Xi Tian’s anger subsided, feeling a bit sorry for Ellis hiding behind him, but more amused.

He took Ellis’s hand and wrote two words: “Sorry.”

Ellis lowered his head, leaning against the male, whispered softly: “No need to apologize.”

“Mm,” Xi Tian said, “Let’s go in quickly.”

The nurse and the partner walked out of the office, only the electronic farewell music played.

As they entered, the smiling officer led the way, sitting opposite the staff and electronic equipment’s long table, scanning their identification into the light brain.

“Mr. Xi Tian, are you marrying the female lord?”

The questions asked by the staff were only allowed to be answered by the male.

“Yes.”

“This is no child’s play, have you considered it carefully?”

At this point, Xi Tian looked at Ellis, who was now uneasy.

“Yes, I’ve considered it very carefully.”

Xi Tian smiled.

“Okay, next I’ll pull up your medical examination form, check for genetic diseases, and test genetic compatibility. It won’t take long.”

However, the electronic instrument suddenly made a loud, sharp buzz, causing Xi Tian to cover his ears in pain.

The staff’s expression was initially surprised, but quickly returned to normal.

“Sorry, this machine is quite old and often malfunctions. Could you please wait for a moment?”

“Okay,” Xi Tian whispered softly.

They sat in their chairs, unaware that the staff quietly pressed the alarm button under the table.

Soon, four police officers in uniform entered, armed at their waists, politely saying to them, “Please come with us.”

Ellis remained silent but prepared for an attack.

Xi Tian’s mind still rang with a sharp buzzing sound. He held his head, patted Ellis’s hand, and walked out helplessly surrounded by the four.
