Chapter 14: Playful

The night was tightly wrapped by the curtains.

Xi Tian rested on Ellis, his head leaning against his chest.

The old marks on the female’s neck had not faded, and new ones had appeared.

Xi Tian murmured, “Your heart is beating so fast.”

Ellis’s hand ran through Xi Tian’s short black hair.

Ellis said, “Master, your reaction just now seemed different from usual.”

Xi Tian became interested and looked at the female, “What’s different? How was I before?”

Ellis said, “Master, come a little closer.”

Xi Tian, not understanding, moved himself up a bit.

Ellis’s strong arms slipped under Xi Tian’s armpits, hugged him tightly, and flipped over, face-to-face with Xi Tian, so close they were almost kissing.

Xi Tian was startled by the sudden move, his heart pounding, but he soon laughed, “You rascal, you didn’t even give a warning.”

He leaned in and lightly bit the lip of the female.

The two kissed again.

Xi Tian: “Quickly, tell me, what’s different?”

Ellis: “In the past, you didn’t like to talk while doing it.”

Xi Tian: “Oh? Really? I talk enough already.”

Ellis pondered, recalling past memories, confirmed it was true, but was interrupted by Xi Tian.

Xi Tian: “When it’s so comfortable, who has time to talk?”

Ellis laughed: “This time you talked a lot more than usual, except for the first time. The first time, you asked questions the whole time, and I answered.”

Xi Tian reached out a finger and pinched the soft flesh on Ellis’s face: “The first time was because I felt sorry for you. The forum said the first time for females would hurt, and some would cry out in pain. Who knew you could endure so well? If I had known, I would have just gone all out from the start.”

Ellis didn’t say anything, smiling as he brushed Xi Tian’s hand away. He slightly tilted his head and bit a red mark on Xi Tian’s left shoulder, his soft tongue gently licking it.

In the bodies of females, which are more robust and strong compared to males, there is a steroid hormone ten times higher than in males. This hormone makes them larger in size and more aggressive.

This evolution was to survive better in primitive society, but it is not suitable for reproduction.

Before adulthood, the reproductive organs of both male and female bugs are not fully developed. It is only after the transformation into adulthood that they mature.

Before adulthood, any sexual activity would harm the female’s reproductive body.

Long-term evolution has made adult females completely indifferent before their first time.

A female’s first time is often slow to warm up.

Modern society has spoiled males, making them impatient, gradually forming the notion that it’s normal for the first time to be painful for females.

Ellis always liked watching movies. During college, he accidentally opened a documentary out of the hundreds of movies a friend had packed and sent. At the end, the host angrily accused society of spoiling the males.

That documentary once made Ellis hesitant to marry.

“Who made you such a gentle person?”

Xi Tian was silent, unusually a bit embarrassed, and didn’t stop Ellis from marking him.

He wasn’t gentle; he was just sensitive and afraid of pain. Any pain he couldn’t bear would instinctively make him empathetic towards others.

His gentleness towards Ellis fundamentally stemmed from his own body’s gentleness towards itself.

He lightly kicked Ellis and asked, “Don’t change the subject, you haven’t told me what change I have.”

Ellis: “No change, you still don’t like to talk.”

He kicked Ellis again, “How is that a change?”

Ellis got off him: “From your expression, it’s clear that you are more immersed than before. There’s a faint mint green light in your eyes.”

Xi Tian fell silent again. His eyes were black, so why would they glow green? How had he never noticed this before?

Xi Tian shook his head, pushing Ellis to get up and join him in the shower.

Living together had just begun, and moments of passion happened frequently. Yesterday they managed to wait until night, but today they ended up in bed before the sun even set. Both enjoyed the intimacy afterward, sharing sweet nothings. Now it was nighttime, and prime-time TV shows were starting.

After returning from the hospital, Ellis remembered the doctor’s advice for Xi Tian to eat more meat, so he went to the supermarket and bought three portions of fresh meat, intending to try cooking at home.

After all, takeout food, to be appealing, often uses heavy oil and strong flavors, which isn’t ideal for frequent consumption.

As a result, when Xi Tian saw Ellis cooking, his curiosity and the schedule weighed against each other, and he happily abandoned his study plan to join Ellis. He eagerly suggested his preferred recipes and pondered over the vague instructions like “appropriate amount” and “a little” seasoning.

Too salty, too bland, missing ingredients, added the wrong ingredients, overcooked, undercooked.

They seriously studied the recipes and seriously ruined two pots of meat.

Xi Tian, not one to mistreat his stomach, threw away the inedible failures.

However, just as they started marinating the third batch of meat, they ended up fooling around and naturally ended up in bed again.

Ellis, adhering to his military habits, took a quick shower.

When Xi Tian came out, Ellis was sitting upright in the living room, watching a cooking tutorial on the screen.

For Xi Tian, the fun of cooking was more about the experience than the eating.

It seemed Ellis was serious about making this meal.

Xi Tian took out a calcium tablet and chewed on it.

Ellis’s actions and demeanor bore the deep imprint of military discipline. He sat upright, with a serious expression, focused on the screen.

Xi Tian took out another calcium tablet, held it between his fingers, and tried to put it in Ellis’s mouth.

Ellis kept his mouth shut, so the tablet didn’t go in. He turned his head slightly in confusion, then quickly turned back to the screen, pretending nothing had happened. He lowered his head slightly and licked Xi Tian’s palm, rolling the tablet into his mouth with a slightly pained expression.

Ellis didn’t like sweets, and calcium tablets made for sub-females were almost all sweet.

Xi Tian patted his head with a smile: “Good boy!”

At that moment, Xi Tian’s wrist terminal vibrated. He checked it and was surprised to see a message from his long-absent mentor.

Ellis paused the video tutorial and went to get a large glass of water to wash away the sweetness, listening to Xi Tian.

He came over curiously and asked, “Master, who messaged you?”

Xi Tian enlarged the screen and showed him. “It’s my mentor from university, Cody.”

Ellis was surprised, “Cody? He’s a famous biology professor on Zerg Star!”

Xi Tian wasn’t sure: “…Really? He teaches at Siming University.”

Ellis couldn’t help but laugh. “There’s only one Professor Kirstie at Siming University, so it must be him.”

Curious, Ellis asked, “Master, why do you call him a mentor? At university, only those pursuing research degrees have professors as mentors.”

At Siming University, mentors and teachers were different. Teachers gave regular lectures, while mentors guided their students through experimental research. Mentors didn’t have to teach undergraduates, and only a prestigious place like Siming could afford such a luxury.

Xi Tian touched his nose. “That restriction is for females, right? In my second year, my classmate and I chose Professor Kirstie as our mentor. Mostly, we just assisted him. My friend, Liang An, got so engrossed in biological experiments that after graduation, he left his family’s business to work nine-to-five at a research institute.”

Xi Tian continued, “The professor was very kind. While we were still at school, he often took us out for meals and even covered for us when we skipped class. After graduation, he contacted me to see if I wanted to continue studying under him.

“But this fall, he seems to have taken on a new project that requires collecting data off-planet. The last time I sent him a message was two months ago.”

He then changed the mentor’s contact name from “Long-term Missing Person” to “Missing Returned.”

Ellis remained silent, unsure of what to say.

Perhaps, he thought, it was best to go back to cooking.
