Chapter 21: New Software
[Sure.] Iris responded promptly.
Within moments, the software and a sleek UI interface appeared before him. Sanjay stared at it in disbelief—everything had come together so quickly, and the interface was one of the most polished he had ever seen. It was intuitive, clean, and professional.
"Okay, now what should I do?" He murmured to himself, his mind racing. Do I upload it for free like the last one, or charge a subscription? It was the standard model everyone used these days, so why not follow the trend?
"Iris, create a subscription model."
Not even a second passed before the subscription interface appeared on his screen. Sanjay didn't have to fill in any details; Iris had already set everything up. When he checked the tiers, his eyes widened in surprise.
The basic tier offered unlimited use with 10x compression. The next tier, advanced, had 30x compression. The premium tier upped it to 50x, and then the elite tier offered 90x compression along with customer support. As he scanned through the options, he noticed additional features, like cloud storage and added encryption.
He was floored. In 2025, the best compression you could get was 10x. But this... He marveled at the figures on his screen. And the encryption—if this was from 2100 technology, it would be unbreakable for at least 50 years. He couldn't even imagine the kind of security it provided.
"Iris, if I want to deploy this, what will I need?" he asked, trying to keep his focus.
[Host, you will need a server and a customer support AI.]
"Show me the available servers and AI systems for customer support," he requested, his curiosity piqued.
Iris quickly displayed several options. Sanjay scrolled through them, his eyes scanning over more than a thousand servers. Most of them were quantum-level—far beyond anything he'd seen on Earth. After confirming the specifications with Iris, he decided to go with a simpler one, a server that would cost about 5 million quarks. It could support up to 10 billion users, which was, of course, far more than Earth's population of 8 billion.
He then turned his attention to the customer support AI. He selected one that could handle video conferences and assist in sales, generating a human-like face for real-time interactions. For complex decisions it couldn't handle, it would connect with Iris.
Sanjay was impressed by the AI—it was exactly the kind of support he would need, especially considering the costs of hiring a traditional customer service team. The system was efficient, self-sufficient, and would save him a lot of time and money.
"Now, Iris, make sure the software is compatible with both the server and the AI," Sanjay instructed. "For testing, use all the available data on the internet for now. I'll need to buy the server and the AI in the future world."
Iris processed his request, confirming that everything was set up for testing. However, as she reminded him, he would need to physically travel to the future world to complete the purchase.
There was still time before that, though. For now, Sanjay decided to focus on another world—the medieval one. He wanted to make sure everything was in order and maybe transport a few things.
As he appeared in the medieval room, he saw the soldiers still guarding it, as they had been for the past few months. They had become familiar faces by now. As Sanjay stepped out of the room, the soldiers, no longer surprised by his presence, saluted him.
He nodded in acknowledgment, about to leave when something unexpected happened. A figure suddenly jumped into his arms. It was Alisha.
Sanjay caught her instinctively, his heart swelling with a mixture of surprise and warmth. For the past six months, in this strange new world, someone had become very important to him. That person was Alisha, the maid.
"I've missed you," he murmured, holding her close.
Alisha pulled back slightly, looking up at him with a soft smile. "How long will you stay?"
Sanjay's heart sank a little, knowing he couldn't stay long. "Sorry, I can't spend much time, but I'll be here for at least a few days."
Her face brightened, and she hugged him once more. "I'm glad you're back."
"Are you enjoying it here?" he asked, his voice quiet.
"It's alright," Aisha said, pouting slightly as she glanced away.
Sanjay chuckled, a gentle smile spreading across his face. "What happened?"
Aisha crossed her arms, a playful glint in her eyes. "You've bought more people. Are you trying to gather a harem or something?"
Sanjay's smile deepened, and he couldn't resist teasing her. He picked her up effortlessly, his enhanced strength making it feel like he was lifting a feather.
"Hey! What are you doing? Put me down!" she protested, laughing as she tried to squirm free.
Sanjay winked at her. "Well, I think it's time I show you who's the master around here."
Aisha didn't reply but gave him a playful, mock-annoyed look as she relaxed into his hold. He carried her toward the room, the one where he had recently added a comfortable bed with soft, plush bedding. The door clicked shut behind them.
Outside, the patrolling soldiers exchanged glances but remained silent, their expressions unreadable.
A few hours later, after everything had calmed, Aisha lay beside Sanjay, her body warm against his. She laughed softly, looking at him with a mix of admiration and exhaustion.
"How was it? Did you like it?" Sanjay asked, his voice low and teasing.
"You're a beast," she replied, playfully punching his chest, but soon collapsed back against him, too tired to move. She smiled, content, as her eyelids fluttered closed.
Sanjay smiled, satisfied with the moment. His enhanced stamina had made everything feel effortless, and the night had been a whirlwind of energy. There had been no need for protection this time. Thanks to Iris, he had ensured there would be no risk of pregnancy, adjusting his body's biology to prevent it. He'd even told Iris to boost his own production, just to add a little extra fun.
He chuckled quietly to himself, knowing Aisha would take care of cleaning up afterward. It had been a lot of fun, and now, she deserved some rest.
After giving her some time to recover, Sanjay slipped out of bed, dressing quickly. He stepped out of the room, heading toward the top of the fort. He needed to check in with Nirav.
Nirav was training the soldiers, pushing them hard as always. He didn't notice Sanjay approach until he called out.
"Nirav, how are you?" Sanjay asked, his voice carrying over the sound of the training.
Nirav turned and grinned. "I'm good, Sir," he said, saluting with a smile.
