Chapter 6
Chapter 6: The Protagonist Arrives, Completely Unfazed:
The sun and moon had gone around, and it was now noon on the second day since Lu Feng arrived in this world.
He woke up in his spacious 100-square-meter bedroom, leisurely listening to Zhang Qiang’s report.
“Everything is just as you expected, boss. Yan Qingxue hasn’t left; she’s still working in the main company building. Moreover, I’ve seen her go up to the top floor more than once.”
“Is there any problem with the tasks I assigned?”
Zhang Qiang shivered slightly. “No problems at all. I was the one acting as the secretary today, and I followed all your instructions to the letter. When Yan Qingxue found out you drank all night and were still asleep, she turned as red as a traffic light.”
“Good, keep it up.” Lu Feng said, satisfied, as he hung up the phone.
Even though the protagonist had lost his luck, his system was still very much active. Being able to single-handedly dominate the battlefield was no small feat, especially with the system’s support. If Lu Feng wanted to crush him completely, he had to go all out.
Lu Feng had been busy today. He had already gathered intel on the two female supporting characters. Both were stunningly beautiful, on par with Yan Qingxue—one named Xu Qian, who was the landlord of the place where Su Chen was staying.
She was young, attractive, and outwardly glamorous, but in reality, she was burdened with debt.
Then there was Xiao Yue, a recent graduate who was Su Chen’s childhood neighbor.
Coincidentally, she had just joined the same company as Su Chen and witnessed his daily battles with the oppressive manager.
The idiotic author loved to drag out the plot, but this gave Lu Feng the perfect opportunity.
However, for now, his priority was to win over Yan Qingxue.
Although Su Chen had lost his protagonist’s aura, he hadn’t lost his luck. And luck was now something anyone could gain.
What if Su Chen used every trick in the novel to reclaim his luck?
What then?
At the company, Lu Feng deliberately dressed disheveled, looking lost and dejected as he wandered around the building.
Suddenly, he bumped into Yan Qingxue, who was coming downstairs to pick up her food delivery.
The sight of Lu Feng in such a state made Yan Qingxue’s heart ache.
What pained her even more was the expression of pure joy on Lu Feng’s face when he saw her.
[Ding! Yan Qingxue’s luck +200]
Lu Feng was even more delighted.
This wasn’t a mere coincidence—everything had been meticulously planned by him and Zhang Qiang.
Lu Feng had purposely chosen this moment to appear.
“It’s quite a coincidence, meeting you here.” Lu Feng said, his usual quick-wittedness deliberately replaced by a foolish grin.
Yan Qingxue’s previously serious expression softened into a smile at Lu Feng’s antics. “Isn’t this your company? It’s not unusual to run into you here.”
“Ah, I meant, the company is so big…” Lu Feng scratched his head.
Zhang Qiang suddenly appeared from around the corner, rushing over in a flash. “Boss, why are you putting yourself through this? There are elevators, yet you’re taking the stairs, wandering around for no reason?”
Yan Qingxue blushed, feeling a mix of shyness and warmth. This was a new feeling she had never experienced before with Lu Feng.
Just as Lu Feng was pondering how to approach the situation, he suddenly heard someone calling his name.
“Lu Feng! Stay away from her!”
“Su Chen?” Yan Qingxue exclaimed in surprise, noticing two security guards behind him, both with bruised faces.
“Boss, we couldn’t stop him! This guy’s a beast! You wouldn’t believe it—he lifted my cousin with one hand! My cousin weighs 200 pounds!”
Zhang Qiang glanced at Lu Feng’s smiling face. As a skilled lackey, he had honed his skills in reading people’s emotions.
Without hesitation, he scolded the two security guards.
“Why did you try to stop him? Who told you to do that?”
The security guards, still grimacing, replied, “We didn’t want to stop him, but he barged in without saying a word.”
Before Zhang Qiang could say more, Yan Qingxue’s face darkened. “What do you think you’re doing, barging in like this?”
“Barging in? Me?” Su Chen pointed at himself, his anger flaring.
Throughout the day, Su Chen had felt off, as if he was suddenly plagued by bad luck.
In the past, when he acted out of line, it always led to unexpected rewards. But today, Yan Qingxue had actually gotten mad at him.
Lu Feng slowly turned his head, smiling at Su Chen, which only made him feel even more powerless.
As the saying goes, ‘You don’t hit someone who’s smiling at you.’
But under normal circumstances, this simple-minded Lu Feng should have already exploded in anger by now, right?
“Stop me? Do you know who I am? I’m the real grandson of Old Master Lu!” Su Chen declared again, trying to assert his moral high ground. This was his trump card, his source of confidence. Even the current chairman of the Shanning Group wouldn’t dare challenge him.
But Lu Feng remained completely unfazed.
Sure, he was adopted, and Su Chen was the old man’s real grandson.
But how many times had Su Chen played this card already?
Every time he came to the main company building, it was the same routine: barging in, getting scorned, and then revealing his identity.
After more than ten times, even the staff had grown tired of it.
“You’re older than me, so I should call you ‘big brother.’ But I don’t understand why you keep bringing up that you’re Grandpa’s real grandson.” Lu Feng said, his sincere tone only infuriating Su Chen further.
He hadn’t noticed Lu Feng signaling Zhang Qiang, who quietly slipped away.
“What’s there to understand? The Shanning Group will be mine one day! Who do you think you are?” Su Chen said, barely containing his rage. The calmer Lu Feng remained, the more frustrated Su Chen became.
In the past, Su Chen was the one who stayed calm, not Lu Feng.
“Brother, no one’s saying the Shanning Group isn’t yours. You’re older, and Grandpa’s real grandson. Who else would inherit the company?”
