Chapter 879: Big Egos Always Cause Trouble

Villain Ch 879. Big Egos Always Cause Trouble

Larissa couldn't help but notice how different Allen was behaving. When using his disguise as an assassin, Allen typically maintained a stoic demeanor, never showing his romantic side, especially in a crowded market. Yet today, he was different. Several times, he grabbed Larissa's waist, pulling her close as they navigated the throng of players and NPCs.

The intimacy of the gesture, so out of character for him in such a public setting, made her heart race and her cheeks flush.

She tried to make sense of his behavior. Allen was usually so composed, his emotions carefully controlled. But now, there was a vulnerability in him, a need for connection that was rarely visible. His restlessness was palpable, as if he was battling something internal that he couldn't quite grasp or articulate.

Glancing at him, she noted the furrow in his brow and the tension in his jaw. Allen was clearly struggling with something, and it was affecting his ability to engage with their surroundings. She felt a pang of concern, wanting to reach out and comfort him, but unsure of how to broach the subject without making him uncomfortable.

To be honest, this surprised Larissa. Allen's touch felt different, more hesitant, almost as if he was seeking comfort rather than offering it. It wasn't like him to follow her lead, especially not in a setting like this. Normally, he exuded confidence and control, guiding her through the bustling market with an assuredness that made her feel safe and protected.

But today, it was as if the roles had reversed. Allen seemed to follow her wherever she wanted to go, his grip on her waist a subtle plea for direction and stability.

Larissa couldn't shake the feeling of unease. She glanced at him repeatedly, trying to read his expression, but his assassin hood obscured his face, hiding any clues to his internal state. "Are you okay?" she asked several times, her voice laced with concern.

Each time, Allen answered with a simple "Yeah," his tone flat and unconvincing. There was no elaboration, no reassurance, just a mechanical response that did little to alleviate her worry.

Larissa's attention was suddenly caught by a nearby conversation. Five players, two of whom she recognized as healers from the large guild Order of Valiance, were deep in discussion with members of the Celestial Vanguard. They immediately caught her interest.

"Hey, did you hear anything about Yora?" one of the Celestial Vanguard members asked, his voice tinged with curiosity.

"Yeah, is she still in your guild after that clash with Mac?" another added.

One of the healers from Order of Valiance sighed heavily. "Honestly, I don't know. She's still listed in the guild, but she hasn't replied to any of the messages. It's like she's vanished."

"Really? That's strange. She was always so active," a third player from Celestial Vanguard remarked, frowning.

"Yeah, it's pretty annoying," the first Celestial Vanguard member said, shaking his head. "She dragged Red_King and Father^Alex in her drama and then just disappeared. It's disgusting."

The healers exchanged glances, clearly uncomfortable. "We don't like it either," one of them said quietly. "To be honest, Yora's been acting weirder and weirder lately. It's like she feels entitled to everything."

"What do you mean?" another Celestial Vanguard member asked, raising an eyebrow.

"Well," the healer continued, "she's been the top healer in this game for a long time. She always attracted a lot of attention wherever she went. For Mac, she was like his golden child."

"That's true," the other healer chimed in. "But lately, she's been more demanding, more arrogant. It's like she thinks she deserves special treatment just because of her status."

"Sounds like a real pain," a Celestial Vanguard member muttered.

"Yeah, and it's causing a lot of tension in the guild," the first healer admitted. "Some members are starting to get really fed up with her."

"Do you think she'll leave the guild?" another Celestial Vanguard member asked.

"I don't know," the healer replied with a shrug. "Mac's been trying to smooth things over, but it's hard to say. Yora's pretty unpredictable."

"Typical," one of the Celestial Vanguard members said with a snort. "Big egos always cause trouble."

The healers nodded in agreement. "Yeah, it's a mess. We're just trying to keep the peace and focus on our quests, but it's not easy with all this drama."

"I can imagine," the first Celestial Vanguard member said sympathetically. "Well, good luck with that. Hope things calm down soon."

"Thanks," the healer replied, sighing again. "We'll need it."

Larissa leaned closer to Allen, the murmur of the market around them becoming a distant hum. She whispered, "Did you hear that?" referring to the conversation about Yora and the guild drama. But instead of a verbal response, Allen let out a heavy breath, his body sagging against her. His forehead came to rest on her shoulder, his breath warm and uneven against her neck.

"I feel weird," Allen admitted, his voice husky and strained.

Alarm shot through Larissa, her concern mounting rapidly. She could feel the tension in his body, the unusual heat radiating from him. "We need to log out now," Allen said again, his words clipped and urgent.

Larissa turned to him, her heart racing. "What's wrong?" she asked, her voice laced with worry.

Allen straightened his posture with visible effort, pulling back his hood just enough to show his face. Larissa's eyes widened at the sight. His face was slightly red, a stark contrast to his usual complexion. His breathing was a little heavy, each inhale and exhale more labored than it should have been. She reached out, her hand hovering near his arm, unsure whether to touch him.

"Are you sick?" Larissa asked again, her voice softer, tinged with worry.

Allen shook his head slowly, his movements sluggish. "I don't think so," he replied, his voice low and rough. "I will log out now."
