Villain Ch 876. I Don't Want To Be That Guy
Allen chuckled, shaking his head in disbelief. "True," he said, thinking about Sophia and the bizarre turn of events that had brought him here.
Larissa's laughter faded as she looked at him, her eyes softening. "But on the bright side, that whole mess brought you to me. And I'm so happy about that."
Allen smiled, his heart warming at her words. "I should do this more often," he said, squeezing her hand.
Larissa's eyes sparkled with curiosity. "Do what? Get frustrated at the gym?"
"No," Allen laughed, "show up at your door with flowers and breakfast."
Larissa grinned. "I wouldn't mind that at all."
Allen huffed, his mind drifting to a more serious topic. "I wonder if I could take you guys to stay at Goldborne Mansion."
Larissa raised an eyebrow. "You guys? You mean all of us?"
Allen nodded. "Yeah, I think it'd be nice. But I'm not sure about Shea and Zoe. They have their own mansion. Plus, I just moved in, so I'm wondering if it's too much to ask."
Larissa held his hand gently, her touch calming. "One step at a time, Allen. Be patient," she reminded him.
Allen smiled dryly, nodding. "Yeah, you're right. I just... I don't know, sometimes it feels like everything's moving so fast."
Larissa leaned in and kissed his cheek. "It's okay. We'll figure it out."
"Thanks," Allen said, his shoulders relaxing. "Now, let's eat."
Their attention moved to the plates of food. The aroma of grilled chicken and quinoa filled the air, making their mouths water.
"I will be honest, this looks delicious," Larissa said, taking a bite. "You did good, Allen."
"I try," he replied with a grin, digging into his own food. The flavors were rich and satisfying, the perfect complement to the morning's excitement.
As they ate, Larissa's playful nature resurfaced. "So," she said, a mischievous glint in her eye, "should we do it after this?"
Allen nearly choked on his food. "Do what?"
"You know," Larissa said, waggling her eyebrows, "it seems like you're pretty frustrated. Maybe we should, uh, take care of that." She pointed to Allen's crotch with her gaze.
Allen pouted, shaking his head. "I've had a cold shower. I'm feeling better now. I didn't want to jump on you like a pervert because of those stupid moans."
Larissa burst out laughing. "Oh, Allen. You're too cute."
"I'm serious!" he said, though he couldn't help but laugh with her. "I was frustrated but I don't want to be that guy."
"You're not that guy," Larissa assured him, reaching across to squeeze his hand. "But I appreciate the effort."
They continued eating, the conversation flowing easily between them. Allen felt a sense of contentment settle over him, the morning's frustrations melting away in the warmth of Larissa's presence.
Larissa took a bite of her grilled chicken and quinoa salad, savoring the flavors. "This is really good," she said, looking up at Allen with a smile. "You've got good taste."
Allen grinned, pleased with her approval. "I'm glad you like it."
"So, what are your plans for today?" Larissa asked between bites.
Allen took a moment to think. "Not much. I might try to finish a few chapters of my stories to build up a chapter bank. Next week is going to be crazy busy with meeting vendors and getting everything ready for the conference and party."
Larissa nodded, understanding the stress he was under. "Do you need my help with anything?"
Allen was silent for a moment, considering her offer. "Not yet," he finally said, "but I'll let you know if I do."
"Okay, just tell me if you need it," Larissa said, giving him a reassuring smile.
"I will," Allen replied, appreciating her support.
The comfortable silence was filled with the clinking of cutlery and the occasional appreciative murmur about the food. When they finished, Allen leaned back in his chair, feeling satisfied.
"That was great," Larissa said, wiping her mouth with a napkin. "Thank you for breakfast."
"You're welcome," Allen said, standing up and collecting their plates. "Let me help you with the dishes."
Larissa smiled. "Thanks, Allen. I appreciate it."
They moved to the kitchen, working together to wash and dry the dishes. The mundane task was oddly comforting. As they finished up, Larissa turned to Allen.
"Do you need anything else?" she asked.
Allen thought for a moment. "What about dessert? The incident at the gym earlier made me crave something sweet."
Larissa laughed. "I have some chocolate in the refrigerator. Just take it. I'm not into sweets."
"Okay," Allen said, heading to the refrigerator. He opened it and scanned the contents, looking for the chocolate. He frowned when he couldn't find it and was about to ask Larissa when something caught his eye.
A small, fancy-looking box sat on one of the shelves. It was new, and the design was elegant, with the word "chocolate" written on the cover. Allen took it and hesitated for a moment, unsure if it was the right thing, but curiosity got the better of him. He took the box and opened it, finding three large chocolate pieces inside.
"Well, this looks interesting," he murmured to himself. He picked up one of the pieces, examining it before taking a bite. The rich, smooth flavor melted in his mouth, satisfying his craving. He closed the box and put it back in the refrigerator, then returned to Larissa.
"Found it," he said, a hint of a smile on his face.
"Good. Is it tasty?" she asked without glancing at him.
"Definitely," Allen replied, turning to her. "You sure you don't want any?"
Larissa shook her head. "Nope, I'm good. Sweets aren't really my thing."
"More for me, then," Allen said with a grin.
He took another piece from the box. The second piece was just as divine as the first, the flavors dancing on his palate. He let the chocolate dissolve slowly in his mouth. It was the perfect antidote to the frustration and annoyance he'd felt earlier.
After finishing the second piece, Allen carefully placed the box back in the refrigerator and closed the door.
