Unordinary: A Dream...? More Like A Nightmare

Chapter 10: A Not So Private Moment

A Dream?... More Like A Nightmare

His aura was heavy, she noted distantly, as she felt the still healing energy of John's soul meet with her own in an explosion of love/adoration/concern/confusion/amusement/loss/grief/self-loathing the king of Wellston's soul brimmed with, pouring into her. She was quickly overwhelmed by the tidal wave of emotions stemming from the tired king she laid upon, however before she allowed her soul to be lost in the ecstasy of connecting to John, she had to make sure he felt her. To make sure he knew without her words that she was there for her best friend. With the last of her mind that hadn't been taken over by delirious joy, she sent everything she felt for John; every ounce of love she felt for him, the terrifying sea of loss she felt away from him, her hope for what they could become, and all of desire to explore everything about herself and John together. All of it was sent in one scalding hot package of aura meeting with John's own as she lost herself completely to the pleasure of connecting with her best friend.

Elaine didn't walk with the others towards the doctors office; she floated in a giddy daze. She released a breathless giggle as she took in the shell shocked faces of the boys carrying each other along. Arlo's subdued disbelief carried his numb body forward, Blyke's exhausted confusion as he stumbled for the sixth time that minute, and Isen's horrified muttering continued as he stared into nothing on the way. She once more took a greedy gasp of air as she subtly stared at the girls' differing reaction in silent smug glee. Claire had crossed her arms the entire way back and glared into space, occasionally giving the healer a detached stare as if pondering something, only to look away after a few seconds. Claire openly glared bloody daggers into Elaine's back only to slump down to turn and pout at John as he walked next to the still fuming doctor, eyes half closed as he swayed past every corner and person they encountered, walking past as if they weren't there in search of a hot shower and food, the blood on his body having dried and clung to his many scars now flaking off. The healer had to turn her head away from John as she kept her eyes on his wide and slightly tense shoulders long enough to almost run into a passing refugee, only to burst into another quiet laughing fit. Remi walked next to her as she pouted at anyone unfortunate enough to glance into her sad puppy dog eyes, only focused on either Sera in John's arms or the giddy healer beside her.

Seraphina stared at John partially gaunt face, a result of the four day coma he'd been in, as he carried her in his arms because she had refused to part with him, even latching onto his chest to snuggle when he'd tried to stand up. His tired confusion as he'd stared at her, latched onto his neck, dangling a few inches off the ground by his height, had been priceless, she remembered as she once more devolved into a breathy giggle fit. He'd silently adjusted her into a princess carry, earning the second round of glares from the girls who'd been awoken by the doctor's fear ability, the first going to her when she'd giggled through a recount of John's wound and how she'd treated them to Darren. They all followed the doctor for a round of checkups into John's room, only to see the bed's for each of them the school doctor had placed inside as he glared at them all throughout their physicals. He'd given a particularly nasty eye to John when he'd placed a slightly lost looking Sera onto a bed for her physical and left the room without a word, coming back nearly half an hour later, carrying a bowl of food and the scent of shampoo in his now flat and damp hair, he stepped to the side as a still fuming Darren passed him by, muttering to himself about his job as usual. As Sera perked back up from her increasingly obvious separation anxiety, Elaine had stopped curling into her chair to stare with the other girls, as a single drop of water fell from his now dark gray bangs of hair down his cheek, towards his adams apple, down his right peck, between his abs, and disappeared into his new light gray sweatpants, and fell back herself into her own assigned bed in a breathless and giddy puddle as the doctor scowled at the king of Wellston. John simply leaned into the doorway as he closed his eyes and continued to eat out of the bowl big enough for four already half empty, and closed his fascinatingly still glowing eyes, despite clearly not using his powers.

Sera quickly launched herself into John's chest, nearly bowling the tired teenager over as he dropped the now empty bowl onto a nearby cabinet before looking around for some help from the boys, only to be ignored as everyone rested on their beds. The visible confusion in his eyes as he glanced all around, only to eventually give up and carry his best friend to the bed he'd been laid up in for the last few days, and tuck themselves into so Sera could snuggle into his chest as he spooned her tight against his chest. Elaine quickly took her chance to sit and lean into John's muscled back to lose herself in her emotions once more.

John had connected their auras!!!!! That was big! Only a very small minority do it, and only if they've been in a relationship for years, because you can't lie to whoever you connect your aura with. You can't pick and choose what to show whoever you connect with. You show them everything about you bar your memories, and you can only do it with so many people before your aura refuses to connect with anyone else other than those you've already connected with. The only study that was made about it stated the number was exactly five, however that was decades ago, back when technology wasn't very developed, and most science was educated guesses being worked together. Elaine giggled once more as she kept her face turned away from the two behind her as John shifted to lay on his back and pull her best friend on top of him, earning a small yelp from the magenta haired young woman.

Elaine couldn't hear what was said in their quiet voices, however she was perceptive enough to realize that the two needed some kind of privacy through her own delirious joy, so she tuned them both out to meet the stares of the silently sulking girls all seated together on Cecile's bed. Remi was done pouting off into space and looked at the two behind Elaine with a slightly glazed look in her eyes as she visibly contemplated murder, Cecile had finally taken the blanket off of herself and sat back against the wall to offer her own dead stare at Elaine herself, and Claire refused to acknowledge the healers existence entirely, choosing to keep her focus on the wall behind John's bed and stay still.

Elaine looked at each of these girls in their eyes as she cast aside her giddiness, and gained their attention as she thought over how she would stoke the flames of jealousy in her confirmed enemies in attaining John's undivided attention. Until she caught sight of the aurora of two auras that the blanket hid behind her and smirked before blowing a kiss at the other three before mouthing two words while pointing at herself and then behind her…

First…

Second…

She decided to ignore their reactions to lay down beside the two spiritually connected next to her as she snuggled into the firm side of Wellston's king and allowed herself to fall back into delirium as she drifted off to sleep.
