Undertale: Taking The Underverse

Chapter 1: Let The Trumpets Blow...

'Enough.'

The world froze, they eye broadcasting the teenage Frisk's silent tears as she clutched her head dilated as Gaster reveled in the memories he had forced everyone to recall, their pain and anger finally directed towards the correct outlet rather than each other . His ever present detached smirk froze for a moment as time slowly resumed. An honest half grin formed that stretched and distorted in his glee.

'Was.'

The small skeleton, the one his own son was but an imitation of, though that would be remedied soon enough.

'Enough.'

He'd finally reached the limit of what he would allow to happen to his world, the world. The original universe.

His goal was almost in sight. He would finally create the perfect world for everyone. A world where everyone was equal. A world where he was finally in control. His overwritten companions were prepared to engage their originators, and for the most part, his intervention was wholly unnecessary with his previous modifications. Good, for this one would require his unfettered attention.

Roars echoed as more eyes appeared, this time focused upon the short skeleton that had appeared behind Frisk, not as he last remembered; no longer in a blue oversized jacket and turtleneck with slippers. There was armor, how useless, beneath a thick leather jacket, combat boots now adorned his legs, hidden almost entirely by the black padded pants he wore.

For a skeleton to change his appearance in any way, was attesting to a great change in heart or soul. After all there wasn't much variation in appearance and so their people expressed themselves through clothing for the most part. It's only when a skeleton grows past puberty that they start expressing their emotions and allegiance in other ways.

The empty sockets bored through the projection, startling every being watching the broadcast silent, meeting Gaster's own for but a moment. A few steps brought the small skeleton face to face with the wide teary eyed human, watery red meeting endless black for an eternal moment.

Another step brought the monster( w̸̢̢͚̟̭͈̟̦̰͕̝̭̠̻̔́͗͜ṛ̵̻̬͊̈́͂̈́́́͋̃̑͆͜͝o̷̙̒͐̽̐̍̑͘̕͝͝ņ̸̭̙̲̺͎̯̮͇̖̳̼̰͛͂̏͑̌̇̂̆̃̚͠g̴̨̤͇̝̻͗́̔̓̿͋͘̚W̸̪̅̋̚ŗ̵͍̭͐̄͂̀̕ͅO̵̮͐͋̉͒̃͆̒̈́̈͒͑̓͘̕n̴͔̪͔̮̪͔͍̺̫̺͕̅Ǧ̶̡͚̲̪͚̼̯̳͓̞̑̒̎W̷̨̹̱͖̪̩͍͎͎̘͇̤͚͆̈́̀̀͂̋̍̐͊̚ͅR̴̛̯̫̈́̑̽̎̓̑̌̈́͂͠O̶̧̱̖͙̠̞̺̤̠͊͑̄̈́́̓͌̓̐̅̉́̀Ň̴̫̝̔̇̓͂̂́͠G̵͕̝̏̊͗̎̃̒̇̕͝ )

between the girl and the glowing purple eye, and his control over reality brought on by his greatest creation trembled.

The distorted grin on his face shook for a moment as he regained his control over what would soon be his universe. This would be… interesting to say the least.

'Our new owner.'

Why?

'That's your fault, right.'

Of all the people to appear before her now…

'It makes it kind of hard to give it my all…'

Why would he ever step between her and someone( thing ) like that?

'We would just wind back down here with no memory of it, right?'

Why would he ever intervene in anything that might set him free?

He towered over her, as he always had, presence suffocating as it had been during their first meeting, animosity caked the air as black eye sockets bored themselves deep into her, where she felt Chara seep even further into their soul in an effort to escape his gaze. There were no puns flying, or winks given as he offered cryptic words of comfort. And she felt herself and Chara flinch as she realized something else…

… he wasn't smiling.

They were face to face now, a moment in time imprinted into her being as he stepped past her so that they were back to back. Her fists clenched themselves white as she looked down, shaking past the confused mess of tangled feelings where her DETERMINATION usually resided, as it had since meeting that thing and he had erased her control over time to prove to her how powerless she truly was.

"Why…?", finally made it's way past her lip, bleeding from how hard her teeth were even now clenched.

"Why now?", her words continued after a moment as she forced herself to stop the tremors wracking her slight frame. "You've never bothered before so WHY NOW?!" She was left panting as her body resumed its shaking with a vengeance, her hands wrapped around herself as she tried to take control of her body only to fail as she fell back against the indifferent weight of her first...

…everything...

Silence reigned for a time as she recovered against his back, until, "Don't pretend you were ever in any actual danger before this."

"... I can see it all, remember?"

"...The endless possibilities of the universe, it's all I can see most of the time, an endless swirling chaos of creation and destruction; light and matter clashing against antimatter… it would have been beautiful if it wasn't so blinding most of the time."

"... I know every future, every possible avenue you could take, every moment of peace, every eternity of war you wage… I saw it all."

"... My intervention wouldn't have changed anything… You choose your path and follow it until the end… That's what makes you, well you. That ability of yours, it was meant to be a record of events. A chronological series of timelines of what is happening in this universe and every universe. Of how it all began… and how it will all end. It was never meant to be played as if it were a game. I allowed it to connect with every timeline, hoping to find someone… but that seems to have been a mute point I guess… And then when I was this close to giving up, anomalies like you and the weed showed up… No one was supposed to be able to control time, it's meant to flow from the beginning to the end in a kaleidoscopic stream. And then start again as it always has for the ones that come after. You changed that, you know kiddo?"

"You didn't answer my question.", the terrified girl finally replied. "If it never mattered then why now?"

"... Because as much as I hate you…"

She shuddered as her shaking petered out and she fell limp deeper into his warm solid back. As mirthless giggles fell just as freely from her bleeding mouth as tears did her closed eyes, she felt the skeleton turn his head to blindly stare into her broken heart.

"...We were friends once upon a time…"

Red eyes snapped open as she stumbled back, the solid pillar she leaned on gone from reality as if it had never been there.

"...and I'm not letting this be the end of our story…"

Wild eyes strained off into the horizon, unto a hill where a small figure stood parallel to a tall dark one as more black and white figures appeared to surround it, him.

The clock began to tick once more; time began to coalesce into one stream, flowing to the end of one era, and into a new one as two monsters who existed outside of time and space met face to face for the final time. A desire for change, and escape from control bound them together, even as their goals ripped them apart. Under the eyes of every being in the multiverse, two entities prepared, the war had finally begun.

Notes: I'm back bitches!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! For the most part at least, anyways this is a fanfic of Underverse by Jakei on YouTube. I own none of this beautiful masterpiece they have put together, I'm just here for the feels and because I feel like sans is kinda getting left behind in the actual Underverse storyline and wanted to do something about it. Anyway, leave a comment and review I need to know what ya'll think about this one because it would just not leave me alone.
