Chapter 14: Chapter 14

The next day, over three hundred women arrived at the Uchiha clan compound for interviews. After careful screening, about half were selected. This pattern continued every day for the next week.

Within that short time, Haruto had successfully taken in nearly a thousand wives and concubines. However, as time passed, the number of interested women began to decline significantly. Haruto realized that the initial excitement had faded—those who intended to come had already done so.

These women shared a few common traits: they were either poor girls from humble backgrounds within Konoha, hoping to marry into the once-powerful Uchiha clan for its name and wealth, or they were wealthy women from Konoha's business community, drawn to Haruto's appearance and charm. Some were so entranced by him that they were willing to give up everything.

What was notably absent, however, were women from the middle class—especially kunoichi. Female ninjas, with their steady income from missions, were not impoverished and didn't have the same urgency. Their pride and independence prevented them from lowering themselves to marry into Uchiha, especially for someone like Haruto.

In Haruto's case, kunoichi like Anko had only fallen for him due to the right circumstances—like their encounter in a dark room and the influence of alcohol. The same was true for Akemi Inuzuka; she had been captivated by his "charm" after spending time close to him.

"It seems if I want to attract the higher-quality women of Konoha, I'll need to take a more proactive approach," Haruto mused as he stretched and rose from bed.

For the past few days, he had been tirelessly working on his "procreation" plan within the clan compound, focusing day and night on securing the future of the Uchiha bloodline.

"At this rate," he said to himself, "I should be able to bless every wife within the next four months..."

He got up, determined to continue his efforts, and headed to the next room.

**Konoha Village, Hokage's Office**

"Knock knock…"

"Come in."

Danzo entered, expressionless as always, and took a seat on the sofa. "Hiruzen, you called me urgently—what's the issue?"

Hiruzen exhaled deeply. "It's about the Uchiha clan. Otherwise, I wouldn't have asked to speak with you alone."

"What's happened now?" Danzo asked, feigning ignorance.

Hiruzen frowned. "Don't play coy, Danzo. I'm aware of your surveillance operations around the Uchiha clan."

Danzo smirked. "Looks like we're on the same page. I've noticed you've got your own people watching them as well."

Hiruzen sighed. "I'm starting to regret agreeing to Haruto's terms. I never imagined he'd take things this far… I thought he might take seven or eight wives, but this? It's gotten out of control."

He took a long drag from his pipe, eyes filled with a mix of envy and concern.

Danzo remained unfazed. "Are you really that concerned over an Uchiha fool who only seems to think with his lower body?"

Hiruzen retorted, "Danzo, it's not that simple. I've received numerous letters of complaint from the young men in the village. If this continues, Konoha might turn into a village full of bachelors."

Danzo scoffed. "Why are you panicking? From what I've observed, Haruto is nothing but an arrogant, lust-driven man. If he keeps going at this rate, he'll likely end up with a serious case of exhaustion and die within six months."

"Once that happens, all those women will become widows, and the men will marry them anyway. The idea of Konoha turning into a 'bachelor's village' is absurd."

Hiruzen wasn't convinced. "Who would willingly marry a widow, Danzo?"

Danzo replied coldly, "It's better than staying a bachelor. Those complaining are likely the powerless men of the village. Strong men have no issue finding wives. Only the weak worry about such trivial things, and they deserve no better than to marry widows."

Hiruzen looked disturbed. "Danzo, that kind of thinking will alienate the villagers."

Danzo shrugged. "I don't care what the weak think of me. Their feelings are irrelevant."

Hiruzen shook his head, frustrated. "I didn't come here to argue with you. I've decided to limit the number of wives and concubines Haruto can take. We accepted his money, but allowing this to continue unchecked isn't feasible. I'll cap it at the current number—around a thousand."

Danzo was quick to oppose. "No, I disagree."

Hiruzen, surprised, asked, "Why?"

Danzo explained, "Hiruzen, you've been watching Haruto for a week now, so you must have realized his real objective. He's clearly focused on passing down the Uchiha bloodline—he only sleeps with each woman once. His goal is to increase the number of Uchiha descendants."

Hiruzen nodded, silently acknowledging this observation.

Danzo pressed on. "As much as I despise the Uchiha, I can't deny their strength. Increasing their numbers could be beneficial for Konoha's overall strength. Let Haruto continue—at this rate, he'll be dead from overexertion within six months, and by then, there will be at least a hundred new Uchiha children. If we don't limit him, he might leave behind even more offspring before his death."

"These children will be raised under Konoha's influence from birth. Who knows? Maybe we can produce more loyal Uchiha like Shisui."

Danzo's eyes gleamed with a disturbing intensity. "And even if these Uchiha don't fall in line, we can always wipe them out again, just like before. Their corpses are valuable, after all."

Hiruzen remained silent, lost in thought.
