Chapter 4: (5/8)
The audiences were too focused on the flashy duel between Imreia and Alereth. Not all of them saw how the Phantom Knight, ten Skeleton Warriors, Fire Demon, and Lora Brightwood were slain in ten seconds by the Saint Skeleton Warrior. Alereth didn't even know her conjurer was killed until her body started to fade.
"Eh… it looks like the mage conjured me today is dead. See you next time, Imreia." Alereth faded away as she was saying that.
Imreia was surprised by how the tide of the battle was turned. She turned toward Kain and saw he was smiling at her. Imreia sprinted over and asked, "Human, what did you do?"
"Girl, tell me what kind of Phantom Knight are you first."
The announcer announced, "The winner for this match is Kain Almos. We will take a two minutes break." The arena master ran into revived Lora using [Resurrection] and attempted to walk her out of the arena.
Lora refused to leave because she wanted to ask Kain a question about how he can have such a large mana pool. As Lora was approaching Kain, he gave her a hand signal to stop and say, "Ay, my precious time is not for losers. Leave." This angered Lora by hearing Kain say something like that, but there is nothing Lora could do except swallow her anger and leave. Lora walked out of the arena hoping her next team member could get revenge for her.
"So... you are a Phantom Knight of the Nivin tribe. I have never heard about your Nivin tribe."
"Human, enough concern about my tribe. Your turn to explain."
Kain explained as he pointed at the Saint Skeleton Warrior. "I conjured a Saint Skeleton Warrior before you were conjured."
"Skeleton, do you have a name?" Imreia rudely asked.
The Skeleton shook its head as it could not speak. Seconds later, Imreia loses interest in the Skeleton. She turned toward Kain and say, "Human, banish me back to my realm."
"No, not yet. There are three more battles."
"Wah... what?"
"Hmm... Imreia, I will not banish you. You are very strong. I rather keep you by my side permanently."
"Heh... I dare you to do it. Your mana will not recover until you banish me."
"Haha, you got me. Imreia, will you agree to be bound to my Soul?"
"Nope."
"Eh?"
"You are too weak. You do not deserve me yet. The last Conjurer Mage that bound me to his Soul was at Saint-tier."
"I see. I assumed that Saint-tier magic caster is dead, yeah? Looks like you are not strong enough to protect your conjurer."
"Nuh-uh. She advanced into God-tier, traveled to a higher realm, and broke the Soul bound between us. That was more than two hundred thousand years ago though."
The announcer announced, "Next round, we have-" The announcer stopped after seeing Kain banished Imreia and the Saint Skeleton Warrior. Not even a word of explanation to the audience, Kain walked out of the arena leaving everyone confused. Kain had done enough for today. Sinerin only had three Student Master Mages left in their team. If his team can not win while still having five contenders, then they truly deserve to lose.
Soul-Binding. A Conjurer Mage can bind only one conjured creature to their Conjurer Soul. However, the conjured creature has to agree to it as well for the binding process to succeed. A Soul-bound creature can not be conjured by any other Conjurer Mages. Soul-bound creatures will have permanent abyss links chained to their conjurers which allow them to travel between their realms and the conjurers' realms freely through activating [Soul Bridge] technique once every seventy-two hours without costing any of the conjurers' mana. Similar to conjuring creatures, the Conjurer Mages will not regenerate mana until their [Soul Bridge] is deactivated. The abyss links can only be broken if the Soul-bound creatures or conjurers really died in their realms. No Conjurer Mage wanted to bind a weak conjured creature to their soul. While on the other hand, no strong conjured creature wanted to bind with a weak conjurer. At Kain's current level, no wonder why Imreia did not want to be bound to him. This is like being married, you gotta choose the correct one or you gonna stick with that a..hole / b..ch forever. Well... until death brings you apart. There is no divorce in Toria Continents. Yup... once you married, you are f..ked.
Imreia told Kain she has tasks to do in her realm and asked him to banish her back. She has done a good job in the fight with Alereth, that was why Kain agreed to her request. He likes to defeat all six members of the opposition team, but he wanted to sleep more. Kain had demonstrated his power to this extent. If it was not enough to attract the Mages Council, then he does not know what will.
Kain did not go sit with other Nosh's students in the audience. His intent was to go back to the hotel room and take a long nap. Kain has been training too hard for the past nine years, he deserves some rest. At the exit gate of the arena, he was stopped by two soldiers, one male, and one female. They were wearing full plate armors that have the crests of Bifjorkian Theocracy."
"Honorable Magic Caster, my name is Drew Kreel. This is Margry Cromdor. Our High Priest would like to have a private conversation with you."
"Mr. Kreel, who is this High Priest you are speaking of?"
"She is Zora Faringray, one of the High Priests in Bifjorkian Theocracy."
As Kain thought, they are from Bifjorkian Theocracy, not the Mages Council. It was actually not hard to guess because the Mages Council has no army. That means the Mages Council does not have any warrior work for them.
"I see. Please tell High Priest Faringray that I will be available tomorrow evening."
"Our apologies but this is not an invitation, it's a command. Shall we go now?"
"Mr. Kreel, I am from the Commonwealth of Krorg, not Bifjorkian Theocracy. I could care less about your High Priest's command. If you want a fight, you shall have one."
"Ay, you have misunderstood. We don't need to because you don't have any mana left to fight. Please don't make this harder than it needed to be."
From Kain's observation, these two soldiers were either eighth-tier or ninth-tier warriors. One Ice Gargoyle would be enough to take care the both of them. Kain's mana was depleted but he can still use the blood pool inside of his Blood Pendant to cast magic spells, but that would be unwise. He did not want to expose himself as a Blood Mage. But at the same time, he did not want to go with them. Looks like they don't have any good intention toward him or they wouldn't have to threaten about using force.
Kain thought to himself, "What should I do? If they conduct a search and find my Blood Pendant-"
