Twilight's Wolves

Chapter 7: Ditched

A dark silver fur giant wolf rushed at a similar-sized wolf with brown fur, darker over the face.

Snarling and snapping at each other, they attacked one another. The dark silver wolf ducked low, dodging a bite, countering with a full-body ram that threw the browned-fur wolf several feet onto its back but recovered in time for the follow-up strike.

(Good job Paul, you're using your brain more, I like that, just because we're wolves doesn't mean all we can do is bite, Jared good recovery get back in there and show him what you're made of,) said Dean.

(You know it,) came Paul's cocky response.

(Yes,) said Jared.

(All we can do is bite though, vampires won't be affected by a hit like that,) argued Sam.

(It's our main weapon but relying on our bite alone won't get us far. We're giant wolves Sam, we can do more. Hitting opponents with our bodies can catch them off guard allowing us to reposition, free up space, and help defend against multiple opponents when we can't bite everything at once. Our claws while not as effective as our bite can be just as deadly, don't be so narrow-minded,) lectured Dean.

(Using our claws is a tall order though, it's not exactly natural to use them for anything other than running,) said Sam.

(That's why we practice, what do you think happened to that female vamp's face,) said Dean.

The two sparring wolves came to a halt.

(Hold up, you've already faced vamps Sam?) questioned Paul.

(Did we not mention that? I took Sam out hunting once to get a taste, don't worry I'll be taking you out soon,) said Dean.

(When?) asked Paul eagerly.

(Soon, let's wrap things up, it's about time for Leah to come home, see you boys later,) said Dean taking off.

(Same for Emily, see ya,) said Sam.

(Guess it's just you and me,) said Paul.

(Actually...)

Paul groaned.

(I've started going out with Kim, I'm not ready to tell her about us yet, but it's getting serious,) said Jared following after the other two.

(Everybody's been whipped, am I the only man left?) Paul complained.

(We can still hear you,) said Sam.

(Good, tell me when you guys get your balls back,) said Paul.

(He's just jealous,) said Jared.

(Tch, of what, one pussy for the rest my life, get real,) said Paul.

(Whatever man,) said Jared.

(I'm heading to the bar, I'll be rolling in bitches by the time you get back,) Paul bragged.

(Fun fact, alcohol no longer affects us,) said Dean.

(The fuck you say?!) asked a surprised Paul.

(You shouldn't be drinking anyway Paul, you're too young,) said Sam.

(Fuck off, I can't believe this shit, now what am I supposed to do to get a buzz besides fighting?) asked Paul.

(You can't fight anyone normal anymore either Paul,) said Sam.

(FUCK OFF SAM! FUCK! WHAT THE FUCK CAN I DO?!) shouted Paul.

(You can fuck those bitches you were talking about, carefully of course,) Jared joked.

(Fuck you, fuck all of you, where's a fucking vamp when you need one,) said Paul indignantly, ignoring the echoing laughter in his head.

...

Dean showed up right as school was getting out. A group of girls passed by, "Hey Dean," they called out in sync.

"Ladies," giving them a nod as they walked off giggling to each other.

A frowning Leah walking over afterward, "What did those bitches want?"

"Nothing, just said hi is all, do you know them?" asked Dean.

"Tch, they think they're the hottest thing around and look down on the rest of us, they've been eyeing you and the guys for a while now, whispering to each other and giggling like dumb little bitches, I'd take a bat to their face if would get them to shut up, god are they annoying," Leah griped.

Dean smirked, "You should set them up with Paul, that'd take care of both of them for a while."

"I'd rather set them on fire if they think for one second I'll stand back and let them near you or the guys," said Leah.

"Who?" asked Emily walking with Sam from behind.

"Those bitches made a move on Dean," said Leah.

"No, I can't believe it, those, those, bitches," said Emily, surprising not only herself but Sam as well. It was a rare sight indeed when Emily decided to curse.

"Right, we have to do something, teach them their place," said Leah.

"Uh, what's going on?" Sam asked Dean as the two ladies went off into their own little world making plans to retaliate.

"I don't know, some ladies said hi to me and now Leah wants to burn them alive," said Dean.

"Okay," said a perplexed Sam.

"Hey guys," said Jared walking with Kim.

"Kim, it's good you're here, come with us, you're a part of this now," said Leah.

"What just happened?" asked Jared, watching his girlfriend get dragged off by Leah and Emily.

"I don't know but I think your girlfriend just got recruited," said Sam.

"You mean we were ditched," clarified a put-off Jared.

"I think it's best we leave it alone, I might as well go looking for vamps then, I'll see you guys tomorrow," said Dean.

"We could join you," offered Jared.

"Maybe next time, still need wolves to stay on the reservation, I'm only going out to scout real quick, see if I can't catch a scent, and then I'll take you and Paul to face whatever I find," said Dean.

...

The next day, Dean met up with the guys.

"You doing okay?" asked Sam sensing Dean wasn't at his best.

"I'm fine, just a little tired after pulling an all-nighter," said Dean brushing away his concern.

"Is that all you did?" asked Sam knowing it would take more than that to make him tired.

"No, not all I did," said Dean evasively.

Sam smirked, "I thought you said you were 'only going out to scout real quick', is what I believe you said."

"And you'd be right, I came back after finding what I needed and found a very horny girlfriend waiting for me, don't tell me Emily didn't also sneak out and jump you or were you not up to the task?" Dean mocked.

Feeling embarrassed, Sam wisely kept his mouth shut.

"You're right though, I shouldn't be feeling this way, not like this was my first time," said Dean.

"Woah, player, didn't know Leah had it in her," said Paul, only to shrink back from Dean's glare.

"You're starting to annoy me," warned Dean.

"Eh, don't get mad, I'm with Paul on this one, you're a lucky fellow, wish Kim would have snuck out too," said Jared putting his arm around Paul who shrugged him off, "Get off me."

"Alright, enough, time for some first-hand experience, Jared, Paul with me, Sam you're holding down the fort," said Dean.

"Yes! Let's do this! I can't wait to tear into some frikin vamps," said an excited Paul.
