Chapter 5: Chapter 5
Walking back home hadn't taken long with Arthur not having to walk as quietly as before.
As he walked he felt like a headache was incoming.
'Do I just not interfere with the plot at all?' Arthur asked himself.
A moment later, he nodded his head.
'I don't want to be a vampire either way, or as they call it, a cold one in this universe.' Arthur thought his mind already made up when he walked to the kitchen.
Plopping the dead rabbit onto the counter, he took a knife, the only one that he had, and started skinning the prey.
His hands moved with precision and experience, he had been living like this for years.
'The father of this body died in a car crash whilst the mother disappeared without a word three years ago.' Arthur thought as he took the skinned rabbit and hung it upside down whilst placing a bowl underneath it.
'This should be done in a few hours.' Arthur thought before turning around and walking back toward his living room.
'Bella Swan still hasn't arrived in Forks. It should only be around a month or two now before she arrives. With her arrival, the plot of the Twilight series begins. Thankfully she wasn't someone who socialized with everyone, in fact, it might even be better for me' Arthur thought as he laid down on his bed and took out his Physics book, opening the first page.
'With Bella here, most of the students at school will turn their attention toward the new student and leave me alone for a while.'
Hours passed by and soon it was midnight, getting up from his bed, Arthur walked to the kitchen where he took the skinned rabbit and started chopping it apart piece by piece.
Taking a single leg to eat, he bundled up the rest in his brown cloth that he had already washed and placed it in the fridge.
It wasn't that the fridge helped in keeping the food fresh however it was quite well isolated from the world and didn't allow for insects to get in.
Thankfully it was winter time and with how cold the weather was in Forks, the food naturally maintained a decent condition for longer than during the summer.
Taking the leg with him, Arthur turned around and headed to the stove where he started cooking it.
Eating it later and sleeping soon after, the day fully passed and soon the sun showed up over the horizon once more, signaling the start of a new day.
'It's Saturday, I should head into the forest to grab some more firewood as well as to see if I can hunt anything else.' Arthur thought as he grabbed his hunting tools as well as an Axe which he had stolen a few years back.
As he was heading towards the back door, Arthur heard a noise from the front of his house.
"Is this it?"
"Yeah, we were here yesterday but Arthur thought that someone was living here so we went back."
"Yeah as if someone could live in here, let's check if the fire was started or if there are any changes if there are then someone lives in here and we get out, if not then we can make this our smoking place."
'Those fuckers.' Arthur thought in frustration.
He rarely got angry however when it came to the only place that he could actually relax in, a place that was quite precious to the current him. He couldn't not get angry at people who were looking to practically usurp it.
'Well all right then.' Arthur said as he walked towards his kitchen with quick steps, taking a several rusted and unused pans, he quickly started smashing them together.
*Tang* *Tang* *Klang*
Loud noises were immediately made from the pans hitting each other forcefully.
"What is that? Do you hear that, Jacob!"
"Yeah, shit, it looks like someone does live here." The voice now identified as Jacob said before Arthur heard two pairs of footsteps walking away.
'Fuckers.' Arthur thought before putting the rusted broken pans down.
*Sigh*
Releasing another long-winded sigh, he turned around and walked toward the back door once more.
Arriving outside, he walked toward the forest at a quick pace afraid that someone might still be around and see him heading out of the broken-down house.
As he walked through the forest, making sure to keep his stealth whilst listening to any sounds around him.
Arthur heard something.
'Human, those sound like human footsteps.' Arthur thought to himself instantly as soon as he heard the sound.
'What's someone doing inside the forest this early in the morning? No what are they even doing in the forest in the first place?' Arthur questioned however he couldn't come up with an answer.
No, he could, it was just that the answer he came to wasn't even slightly pleasing.
'It could be a Cold One or a Shape Shifter from the Quileute.' Arthur thought before turning around slowly and starting to head in the opposite direction of the sound.
"Arthur?" A voice said from behind him.
'I didn't even hear them.' Arthur thought immediately as he turned around quickly to look in the direction of the voice that had said his name.
There, tens of meters away stood a small woman with a pixie haircut wearing thick clothes suited for the winter weather.
Next to her was another man wearing similar clothes, he had blond curly hair with amber-like eyes just like the woman next to him.
"Alice?" Arthur replied as he straightened himself up and looked toward the woman.
"Yeah. Didn't expect to see you out here in the forest," Alice said with a small smile as she started walking towards him, the man following behind her.
"Yeah, I didn't expect to meet you here either," Arthur replied, his voice sounding dull as he gazed at the two figures walking closer and closer to him.
"Ah, this is Jasper, my brother," Alice said as she arrived a few feet away from Arthur.
"Right, nice to meet you, Jasper."
"The pleasure is mine," Jasper replied with a clear Southern accent. His expression was calm though it still looked like he was slightly in pain or rather it looked more like he was uncomfortable.
