Chapter 1: A monster with yellow eyes
A bright flash blinded Klaus's eyes, and he involuntarily squeezed his eyes shut. My head was all muddled. Nausea swept over him, his legs buckled, and he collapsed to his knees, but not to the floor of his bedroom, where he had been just a moment ago. He felt something hard, like a stone, under his palms.
The young man opened his eyes slightly. Dark. A light, cool gust of wind hit him in the face. Is he outside? But how could this happen? Klaus tried to get to his feet, but he screwed up. They don't hold at all.
"What the hell happened?" He blurted out in a hoarse half–whisper, but there was no answer.
Realizing that he would not be able to stand up at the moment, the guy tore his palms off the strange coating and sat down on his fifth point, covering his face with his hands. The nausea gradually began to recede due to the immobility. A long-drawn-out sound was heard behind him, accompanied by a bright white light.
Klaus abruptly turned his head in the direction of the approaching object and groaned from a new dose of dizziness. Was a monster with glowing eyes rushing at him at high speed, emitting an unfamiliar roar? A scream? He didn't even know what to call it.
The young man realized that he would not have time to get out of the way of the creature and reached for his belt. Where are the weapons? He's lying on the bed. A few minutes ago, the heir to the throne was getting ready for bed when he was rudely interrupted. A crowd of soldiers serving (judging by their clothes) in his father's army took the door off its hinges with one blow. The last thing Klaus remembered was the whistling of a sword next to his ear, which clearly indicated that his head was about to fly off his shoulders, but instead he was blinded by a flash, and he found himself in an even more difficult situation. Although, it was impossible to say for sure. Which is better, to be beheaded in your room or to be eaten by an unknown creature?... And actually, where exactly did he end up?
Klaus's whole life It flew by already passed before his eyes, when the beast abruptly stopped, uttering a strange growl and looking sternly with its brightly glowing eyes. Shock. That's what you can call the condition of a man who was sitting on his ass with his mouth open and trying to figure it out. What should he do now? Of course, to run. It's clear to a fool here.
Not only that, it was listed above. One more, no less shocking, was added to the series of events. The monster's torso (well, at least that's what Klaus decided) opened, and a man came out.... human? Yes, it was definitely a man who was talking loudly in an unknown language with a frightened expression on his face. The man was clearly not a warrior (judging by his physical condition, and his clothes were, to put it mildly, strange). The gray-haired man continued to watch Klaus with frightened, dull blue eyes. The prince was attracted by an unusual round scar on the man's cheekbone, as if a piece of skin had been cut out or burned out. Klaus shuddered. Perhaps this man was tortured.
Continuing to say something, the man squatted down next to Klaus. The incomprehensible dialect brought the guy out of his stupor. He reached out to the man and touched the point between his eyebrows, conducting a light electric charge. Everything lasted for a split second, the man opposite did not feel anything, only looked at Klaus in surprise, puzzled by his actions.
"Excuse me, young man! I thought I had stopped the car in time. Are you hurt?" finally, this language became clear, but the use of force had a very strange effect on him. It was as if the energy was drained and the condition, which was already not to hell, worsened. The guy fell into the darkness.
The young man opened his eyes in a completely different place. "What the..." was the first thought. First a strange monster, now an incomprehensible white room with a sickening smell, but at least there was a comfortable bed under it.
An unknown girl in a strange greenish outfit came into the room. A woman in pants. Klaus understood one thing for sure. He is not only not in his city, he is not even in his country.
"I'm sorry" he said to the stranger in a language that he had learned not only to understand, but also to use, thanks to the man with the monster.
"Have you come to your senses yet? How are you feeling?"
"Where am I?"
"You are in the local city hospital. A man brought it in last night, saying that he had hit you on the highway in the suburbs. I'll call the doctor now." Before Klaus could get a word in, the girl spoke quickly and disappeared just as quickly.
"The hospital? The infirmary? I have never seen such white and bright infirmaries, and there are so many unknown things here. If you can't understand the situation, adjust. That's what the teacher always said, and it seems it's time to put his strange moralizing into practice." He thought.
"Good evening. I am your attending physician, Strogina Inna Sergeevna. How are you feeling?"
"Thank you, I feel quite well. Could you return my clothes?" realizing that his leather pants and linen shirt had disappeared somewhere, and they were replaced by a piece of floral fabric that covered the front, which could not be said about the ass.
"You'd better take your time. Don't worry, Professor Skotsky has already paid all expenses and left his contacts. You have serious exhaustion of the body. What happened to you?"
"I'm already fine at the moment. Can I still get my stuff and... contacts?"
"I don't know what exactly the weirdo left with the monster, but it will definitely come in handy." At this time, Klaus was thinking.
The doctor stared at the strange patient in silence for a few more minutes, but still decided to give up.
"All right, I'll prepare the documents. Sign a waiver of hospitalization and you can be free, but I still recommend it..."
"Thank you. I'll do whatever it takes. Just hurry up, please."
The doctor left the patient's room. A young man of about eighteen or twenty years old. He doesn't have any documents with him. How can he get discharged from the hospital? He's obviously some kind of cosplayer, or maybe the doctor is so far behind the times that she doesn't understand anything about fashion at all?
Fashion is fashion, but common sense must be present. How could a normal healthy guy end up barefoot in the middle of the highway? His long, thick black hair is braided into a tight ponytail, highlighting two strange tattoos on her temples. One has a black sun, the other has a black moon.
Deep black eyes, chiseled cheekbones, a toned but not pumped body, quite tall. Is he a model? Then it's easy to explain his overwork and strange clothes. But what was he doing alone in a place like this? There are no drugs in the blood, as well as alcohol.... The doctor decided not to bother her head. As long as no one makes claims, everything is fine. "His bill has been paid, I will issue an extract in the name of the professor who brought him here, and then let them figure it out for themselves."
Klaus had already pulled on his usual clothes and realized that the local fashion was different from the one he knew in Anatodon, his hometown. He had not seen such clothes not only in the city, but also in the whole country, even in neighboring countries, Klaus had not met such a thing. This place is definitely very far away. None of the people he knew had ever been to these lands before, and he was stuck here, not knowing how to get back.
A young girl called Sveta brought Klaus shoes. The first item of the foreigners' wardrobe that he was going to wear. The soft short boots with ties turned out to be surprisingly comfortable.
"I'm sorry, I can't offer you any other shoes. These are sneakers left by one of the patients a long time ago. The size should fit."
"Thank you for such a generous gift. As soon as I get home, I will definitely ask my father to mark your help and reward you."
The girl just smiled and left the room. It remains to wait for the chief physician and i can leave the walls of the infirmary. But what to do next? Klaus decided to act on the circumstances. It is difficult to come up with a plan of action without knowing the customs of the local people. It's hard to play a role without knowing the play. That leaves pure improvisation.
"And here I am" the doctor's voice rang out. "Are you ready?"
"I've been ready for a long time. Can I go?"
"Take your time, young man. We are having difficulties with your discharge. Is there someone who could bring your documents?"
"I have no way to contact my loved ones right now."
"I can offer an alternative option and arrange hospitalization and discharge in the name of Professor Skotsky, but then you will not be able to contact the police and the insurance company about the accident."
"I'm not really interested in the accident. I just want to get out of here and get what the professor left for me."
"I thought so" with these words Inna Sergeevna handed over several sheets of snow-white paper on which the text was written in clear, even letters.
"What should I do about it?"
"Put your signature here and here."
Klaus took paper and a very handy pen, wrote out "Klaus Deffender" in calligraphic handwriting, then looked at the squiggle next to the inscription "signature of the attending physician" and circled his name with an arc-shaped line coming out of the last letter of the surname.
"Done. Now I need contacts."
"Of course. You will be given everything at the reception. Do you need a copy of the application?"
"No, I don't need these sheets of paper, you shouldn't bother and waste time copying them," Klaus waved off, imagining how long it would take their clerk to draw such letters.
Having finished with all the paperwork, Klaus was finally released, and he found himself in another predicament. How do I find a way out?
"Excuse me, but where is the exit?" A young man asked a passing woman in a green suit.
"The elevator is that way."
Klaus followed the route indicated by the woman with his eyes and saw the iron door tightly closed. He came over and tried to open the doors. It didn't work out. Pushed her. It won't budge. "And what should I do?" It was only when another person came to the door and pressed a button on the side of the wall that Klaus heard a strange clanking sound. The door opened on its own, but it was not the way out. It was an elongated iron box.
People began to enter it and Klaus, after hesitating for just a moment, followed them. "Adjust to the situation. I'll find out everything in the course of the play." The doors closed, and a sticky fear arose in the guy's soul as the box smoothly went down. "What kind of infernal device is this?" He thought
Klaus finally found himself on the street and was stunned. Monsters were racing along the roads, and people were sitting in them! After a little reflection, the young man came to the conclusion that they were not living beings, but inventions for movement. "There are so many interesting things in this country! Perhaps I don't mind staying here for a while and studying local customs and inventions in order to introduce them in my country later."
Maybe Klaus will be able to change the familiar and cruel way of life of his homeland. Maybe not everyone should live in fear? Maybe he will become the ruler who will turn the world around? People seem happy here. They walk around the city quietly. No one even has a weapon! At least, the visible one.
