Chapter 44: Jung Da-Jung's JOB
Upon entering the villa, Vladena informed me that the actress was scheduled to meet with Jung Da-Jung the following evening.
I turned to Vladena and instructed, "Announce Jung Da-Jung as the highest scorer of the test. This should incite some jealousy from Kwon Yu-Mi and provoke her into writing an online article against Jung Da-Jung."
Vladena informed me that she had just taken over as the boss of JBC and had settled into her new office that very day. She also mentioned that Moon Sang Hwi would be assisting her moving forward. With a smile, Vladena asked, "Vlad, would you like me to introduce you to the beauties around the office? "
I looked at her and replied, "No, I'll meet them when I go to see Jung Da-Jung. Don't reveal that I'm your brother. Instead, establish a friendly relationship with her in the office. This should stir some jealousy among her colleagues and potentially isolate her. Then, I'll step in to offer my support, leaving a stronger impression on her."
After our discussion, we turned in for the night. When I next opened my eyes, it was morning. I freshened up and headed to school. As I entered the classroom, I noticed Hong Shi-Ah and her friends glancing my way. I greeted them with a smile and made my way to my desk.
Shortly after, Ok Hye-In entered the room, her gaze fixed on me as she began her lecture. As the class concluded, she looked at me and said, "Vlad, please come to my office after school. I have something I'd like to discuss with you."
I looked at her and replied, "Okay, Teacher." I wondered what she wanted to discuss.
After that lunch break began I walked into the cafeteria and saw Hong Shi-Woo and sat down with him and Hong Shi-Ah and her friends also sat with me.
I turned to Hong Shi-Woo and asked, "Are you ready for the basketball team tryouts?" He looked at me and nodded.
Bo-Bae and her friends joined us, and soon the table was filled with laughter and conversation. Everyone enjoyed their lunch before heading back to class. I, however, skipped the rest of the lessons to accompany Hong Shi-Woo to the basketball tryouts.
As I scanned the court, I spotted Choi II Kwon. I knew his crude bet with a friend about sleeping with Jung Da-Jung, and at that moment, I resolved to make his life miserable. Hong Shi-Woo and I performed well and secured spots on the team. But I knew Choi II Kwon would not make our path to playing time an easy one.
After Hong Shi-Woo left, I headed to Ok Hye-In's office to see her. I knocked on the door and entered. She looked up and said, ''Take a seat, Vlad.''
A moment of silence passed before I asked, ''Teacher, is there something you wanted to discuss with me?''
She met my gaze and said, ''Vlad, I'm just concerned about you. I know you've transferred from America and might not have many friends here. If you ever need someone to talk to, you can always reach out to me. Okay?''
Seeing her slight discomfort, I reassured her, ''Okay, Teacher. I'll definitely contact you if I need anything.''
She pulled out her phone and suggested, ''Let's exchange contact information.'' I understood that she wanted my number.
After giving her my number, I said goodbye. But as I exited the office, I saw Choi II Kwon approaching. I recalled that, according to the plot, Choi II Kwon had attempted to harass Ok Hye-In multiple times in the office.
He walked past me and entered Ok Hye-In's office. Without hesitation, I followed him in. I found Choi II Kwon sitting there, clearly making Ok Hye-In uncomfortable. I stepped in front of her, took her hand, and led her out of the office, saying, "Teacher, the students need you for something."
Once we were out of the building, I released her hand. She looked around and asked, "Where are the students who needed me?"
I led her to a secluded spot where we could talk privately. Turning to her, I looked into her eyes and softly said, "Why haven't you reported him for sexual harassment yet?"
Ok Hye-In was taken aback by my question. Tears welled up in her eyes as she explained, "I don't want to cause any trouble, so I haven't reported him. Besides, he hasn't done anything too out of the ordinary."
I pulled her into a gentle hug and reassured her, "Don't worry, I'll take care of it. I promise he won't bother anyone again."
Ok Hye-In was startled by my sudden hug and shyly protested, ''How can you hug your teacher like this? Someone might see us.''
I released her and gently wiped away her tears with my fingers. In a teasing tone, I said, ''Okay, then I'll hug you when we're alone. That would be alright, wouldn't it?''
Ok Hye-In looked at me, her cheeks flushed with embarrassment. She pretended to be angry and stammered, '' Don't... Don't tease your teacher like that."
Ok Hye-In looked at me, her voice filled with concern. ''Vlad, I don't want you to do anything to Choi II Kwon. I can handle myself.''
Seeing the worry in her eyes, I responded, ''Okay, but I need you to do something for me in return.''
She looked at me, curious. ''What is it?''
''Meet me this evening,'' I replied. ''Then I'll tell you.''
Ok Hye-In studied me for a moment before finally nodding in agreement. She quickly walked away and headed to class. I watched her go, recalling her love for game collections. I contacted Vladena and instructed her to purchase a variety of rare and expensive games to be sent to our villa.
Soon, school was over, and I saw Hong Shi-Woo exiting the building. I approached him and said, ''Let's go.'' We started walking towards his house, and I mentioned that my place was in the same direction.
Hong Shi-Woo seemed to have come out of his depression a little bit and was noticeably more cheerful. ''Let's practice together after school, okay?'' I suggested. He happily agreed.
