Chapter 17: Date With Hansitha
After flying with them for a while, we returned to the hotel. I handed my unlimited money card to Janu and Padma, telling them to buy whatever they liked, as we would be leaving this world soon. I assured them that the card had no spending limit, so they wouldn't have to worry about running out of money.
Their faces lit up with joy, like kids with new toys. To express their gratitude, they each kissed me on the cheek—Janu on the left, Padma on the right. I kissed them back, sharing in their happiness.
After spending some time with them, I checked the time and saw it was 7:00 p.m. I called Masood to ask about the restaurant I had instructed him to arrange. Masood promptly sent me the location and assured me that everything was set up for the romantic dinner date.
I bid farewell to Janu and Padma, excitedly sharing the news that they'd be welcoming a new sister soon. Janu leaned over to Padma and whispered that I had my sights set on Hansitha, the MLA of our area.
They both exchanged shy glances before looking back at me, their cheeks turning a delightful shade of pink. With bashful smiles, they said, "Go ahead and find us more sisters so we can take a break; otherwise, you're really going to wear us out!" Their voices were soft and playful, their embarrassment adding a sweet warmth to the moment.
I sat in my car and sent her a text letting her know I was on my way to pick her up for dinner. A moment later, she replied, saying she'd be ready.
I drove towards her house, my anticipation growing with each passing moment. As I pulled up to her residence, I parked the car and waited patiently for her to come out. After a few minutes, I saw a beautiful woman walking towards my car. She was dressed in a stunning saree that accentuated her graceful figure.
The saree was a deep shade of blue, adorned with intricate gold embroidery that shimmered in the evening light. As she approached, I realized it was Hansitha. Her hair was elegantly styled, and her makeup was subtle yet captivating. She looked absolutely breathtaking in her outfit, and I couldn't help but feel a surge of excitement and admiration.
I stepped out of the car and greeted her warmly, ''Hansitha, you look absolutely beautiful today. That dress is just perfect—it suits you so well.'' I spoke softly and cheerfully, genuinely admiring her appearance.
She smiled and replied, ''Thank you, Vlad. You're looking quite handsome yourself in that outfit.''
''Thank you,'' I responded with a grin. ''Coming from a beautiful lady like you, that means a lot.'' I opened the passenger door for her and gestured for her to take a seat, ensuring she was comfortably settled in before closing the door gently.
After that, I got back into the car, started the engine, and headed towards the restaurant. Along the way, Hansitha and I chatted and laughed, with me occasionally cracking jokes to make her laugh. The atmosphere was light and enjoyable, filled with our shared amusement.
Upon reaching the restaurant, I parked the car near the entrance. I quickly walked around to the passenger side, opened the door for Hansitha, and offered my hand to assist her out of the car. Once she was steadily on her feet, I gently let go of her hand, ensuring she was comfortable and ready to enter the restaurant together.
We walked into the restaurant and were greeted warmly by the staff. They escorted us to the highest floor, where a single, elegantly set table for two awaited us. The room was filled with the soft, soothing sounds of a piano playing in the background, creating a romantic and intimate atmosphere.
I led Hansitha to the table and pulled out her chair, helping her to take a seat before sitting down across from her. As I looked at her face, I could tell she was pleased with the setting. Her eyes sparkled with delight as she took in the surroundings. Soon after we were seated, a server brought us a delicious snack, and we began eating and engaging in lively conversation.
Hansitha curiously asked me about the Dhanush case, as she was aware that it was my news channel that had broken the story and provided the crucial video evidence that led to the report of Dhanush's killing.
I shared with her the details of how Dhanush had been targeting Jaya Prakash's village and the surrounding events. I recounted the story in full, omitting only the personal detail that Janu was my woman. Hansitha listened intently, her eyes filled with awe as she absorbed the information.
In turn, she began to tell me about the projects she was working on, expressing her gratitude for the donation I had made. The conversation flowed naturally, with both of us sharing our experiences and thoughts openly.
I also assured her that she could ask me for help anytime she needed it, as we were now friends. Hansitha then brought up the Veerandra rape case, explaining that the parents of the victim had asked for her assistance in winning the case. She confidently told me that she had gathered all the necessary evidence against Veerandra and was certain she would win.
However, I had my doubts about the outcome now that Dhanush was dead. In the original plot, the judge had been bribed, and all the evidence had been taken away by the parents' lawyer, who didn't show up at the hearing. As a result, Veerandra easily won the case, leading the devastated parents to commit suicide shortly afterward.
I decided that I would intervene at the right moment during the court hearing, providing Hansitha with the support she needed to win the case. I was confident that, with my help, she would succeed, and perhaps then, she would truly fall in love with me.
After that, a server arrived and began serving dinner. To Hansitha's delight, all her favorite dishes were presented before her. She noticed this and smiled appreciatively. I dismissed the server and took it upon myself to serve her food, adding a personal touch to our evening.
We enjoyed a wonderful dinner together, and afterward, I drove Hansitha back to her house. I parked the car and walked around to open her door, taking her hand to assist her as she stepped out.
As she stood there, looking at me with a shy smile, I noticed a soft blush on her cheeks—a sight I found incredibly endearing. I walked up to her and wrapped her in a tight hug, lightly kissing her cheek. Pulling back slightly, I looked into her eyes and said, ''Hansitha, thank you for spending your time with me. I enjoyed every moment of it.''
She replied softly, ''I also liked spending time with you, but I think we are moving too fast.''
''I know,'' I responded gently, ''and I will give you enough time. But don't make me wait too long.'' I playfully teased her nose with my finger, eliciting a small laugh from her. ''Okay,'' she agreed.
With that, I said, ''Good night,'' and left without looking back, driving away in my car.
