Chapter 5: Obsidian Academy (2) Sporty Girl Fiona – POV
We had soon arrived at the station we get off the train to go to school. Me, Mi and other friends have been going to this school since we were in middle school but today, we finally enter the high school side. After dealing with that rude guy on the train we soon had forgotten about him and got off the train. As I started a conversation with my best friend and childhood friend, Mio.
“It’s finally our first day of high school, Mi.” I happily speak out to friend who’s walking beside me.
“Yes. That’s right Fi. I’m guessing you never got much sleep last night?” she smiles back in conversation with me before showing a knowing smirk in her expression to me.
“H-how do you know?!” I had flinched and stuttered whilst blushing in shock at Mi’s words because that is exactly what happened because I was too excited about my first day of high school and I had trouble falling asleep.
“Hah, how long do you think we’ve known each other? You even have trouble sleeping the night before your birthday and you even done the same in every year in middle school.” She sighed at hearing my response but still showing a happy smile to my words, whilst reminding me about old memories.
“Ah! Ahah! You know me so well Mi!” I giggled happily hearing my best friend’s words embarrassingly before jumping at her and giving her a big hug tightly from behind causing her to squeal a little but calms down instantly because she is so used to this habit of mine.
“Kyaa! Seriously Fi? It’s too early for this” she mutters admonishingly at me grabbing my hands before it goes any longer notices multiple blushing boys near us.
“Ahah! Sorry Mi! You’re just so huggable.” I hold my hands up in surrender whilst grinning before we continued towards school.
We had soon arrived at the school early with our friends mostly because we wanted to find our class and meet with other friends before class. But me and Mi are arriving early to help the Student Council which has Mio’s older sister in it as the Student Council President. We were to help her set up the auditorium for the opening ceremony, then greet and help new students at the front gate.
Because there was enough of us helping the Student Council, we had finished within about 20 minutes. I then moved to the gate together with Mio and a few others to start greeting new students arriving at the normal time. It wasn’t long before my eyes flashed in slight anger about 10 minutes later when me and Mi noticed a single recognisable student walking through the gate.
“Him! What is he doing here?!” I flash my teeth in anger and was about to approach him to release my frustration before my arm was grabbed tightly causing me to look around to see who would stop me? It was my friend Mi.
“Don’t Fi. It’s not worth our time. It’s surprising that such a rude and insensitive man is at our school which is renowned for our academics. Lowering ourselves to his level would waste our time and we have our own jobs to do.” She admonishes me showing a stern yet serious expression to me.
“Hah. Ok Mi. I’m sorry, I let my anger take over me for a moment. It’s just seeing him completely made me get really annoyed. Also didn’t he get the same train? Why is he only arriving now?” I say back to my friend spoke to me in a calm and controlled manner. Something she does often and rarely shows her emotions too much. This makes me calm down before I did something I would probably regret.
“You’re right Fi. Maybe he had something to do before coming here.” Mi says to me whilst showing a thinking expression.
“Or maybe he’s just someone up to no good, well we should still warn your sister about him as well. Ok let’s just forget it, it’s not as if we’ll be in the same class anyway. Let’s get back to work and show these new students how great and fun this school is!” I say back to Mi shaking off my anger and frustration.
“Yes, I will do that. That’s right Fi. Let us show how great our school is.” Mio tells me with a small soft smile as she releases her hand from my arm and then we go back to our job of greeting and helping any new students with any queries.
