Transmigrator Commander of Girls Frontline must not be a Reckless man

Chapter 26: Chapter 26: Reminder

"Alright, that's settled then. I still need to prepare the Jaeger. If you guys want to go for a stroll, put on these gadgets." Handing over several Griffin communication devices to M1 Garand, Reno waved to the T-Dolls.

Perhaps it was because the Griffin commander here was more responsible, or maybe because this small town was relatively peaceful, on the way into town, they saw many autonomous dolls.

Since those autonomous dolld could move freely in town, it was evident that the townspeople didn't harbor much hostility toward T-Dolls like M1 Garand and her companions. Hence, there was no need to worry too much about their safety.

Moreover, in such a small town, with everyone wearing communication devices, it wouldn't take more than a few minutes to rush over upon receiving a message.

"Alright, Commander, we'll be back soon." M1 Garand nodded, tested the communication device, and picked up her weapon, addressing Reno.

"Hooray! Off to the tavern first! Let's go to the tavern!" Grabbing a weapon from the ammo box, Simonova immediately dashed out, without even taking any money.

Perhaps some residual rationality existed, as Simonova, after rushing out of the warehouse door, didn't disappear from view but stood there dumbfounded, reaching into her skirt pocket.

Empty, just like her freshly repaired face.

"Ahem, um, M1 Garand, could you lend me some money... I'll definitely pay you back once we get paid by the Commander!" Simonova, with her hands clasped together, smiled and approached M1 Garand, her eyes constantly on the banknotes in M1 Garand's hand.

Just now, in addition to giving them the communication devices, Reno had also given all the cash in his hand to M1 Garand. Hey couldn't just let them wander around town empty-handed, right?

Although not much, there was over two hundred thousand, enough for them to buy some relatively inexpensive items in town.

And it was just a small town, what expensive stuff could they have?

"No! The Commander didn't authorize us to split up! Besides, the situation in this town is unclear. Until safety is confirmed, everyone must act together. The primary goal is to confirm the safety of the town and then record the surrounding areas of the Griffin base. If there's spare time, see if we can buy some essentials and supplies. Of course, alcohol can be purchased, but drinking in local taverns is not allowed!"

"Why not! If we don't drink in the tavern, we won't have that atmosphere..."

"No way, absolutely not! This is to prevent you from causing trouble for the Commander after getting drunk!"

"What! I have a good alcohol tolerance! Besides, Tactical dolls can't get drunk!"

The four T-Dolls and two Dinegrates argued as they walked away, leaving Reno behind in the warehouse. Reno rummaged through a box of components and pulled out a universal vocal module for the Jaeger, preparing to install it.

"Choose the voice you like. You can pick one yourself." Reno brought over a chair, placed the computer next to the Falcon, and let her listen to the voices one by one.

The modular vocal components were straightforward to install. Although the Jaeger was not originally a civilian doll, there was plenty of empty space inside her body, enough to install these things. Even the standard digestion system for converting food into energy was installed.

The only regret was that the Jaeger's body did not have interfaces for simulating skin nerves like other T-Dolls. To enable the Jaeger's body to sense temperature changes and pain like other dolls, a large-scale modification on her base body would be required.

However, this warehouse did not have such conditions for doing so. It had to be left for later.

"Is anyone there?"

Just as the Jaeger was selecting her voice while holding the computer, the warehouse door was knocked, and a rather rough voice sounded.

Hearing the voice, the Jaeger instinctively reached for her weapon, intending to be on guard, but Reno raised her hand to stop her motion and went to open the door. "What's the matter?"

The person outside was a very burly man, with arms almost as thick as the waist of a humanoid figure, and even taller than Reno. He was wearing a Griffin commander's coat.

Seeing Reno, he smiled, "Ah, hello! You must be Mr. Reno mentioned by Commander Helianthus!"

"Yeah, that's me. What's up?"

"Well, the thing is, I didn't have time to inform you earlier, but actually, this town isn't particularly peaceful. Especially for dolls, there's been a group of outsiders, dollnappers, doll traffickers and illegal doll traders, who have been active around the town lately. They often target solitary dolls heading to remote areas, like this warehouse you're in now. There have been two cases of doll disappearances near here. I hope you can be more vigilant."

"Alright, got it." Raising an eyebrow, Reno nodded, watching the man leave with his dolls.

This guy was not bad at all, but cases of doll disappearance? Hopefully, those guys won't jump on him and cause trouble...
