Transmigrated as Sukuna, but the Host is Yukinoshita?

Chapter 19

Chapter 19.17 Great Snow之下, Refreshed!

Chiba was not as bustling as neighboring Tokyo; in the twilight peak hours, there were no overcrowded masses. Instead, groups of students walked on streets bathed in the glow of sunset, while housewives carried shopping bags in and out of supermarkets. Those who finished work early gathered at izakayas illuminated with orange lights.

Amidst the bustle, there was a feeling of peace.

Snow之下 Yukino walked home carrying her bag, following the directions Lin Qi gave in her mind. Two steps behind, Hachiman Hikigaya pushed his bicycle.

“Isn’t this the usual route back from school?” Yukino frowned and asked. Had a curse spirit moved nearby to her high-end apartment?

“Because it’s right by your place,” Lin Qi replied naturally. “It just happens to be within my cursed energy sense range.”

Lin Qi’s voice did not hide but appeared under her collar; no one would notice the three voices between them on the street.

Relying on walking, Hachiman was briefly briefed on the concept and classification of curse spirits.

“So the curse spirit we’ll face later is what level?” asked the cautious fish-eyed boy.

“It’s only a Grade 3 curse spirit, quite weak,” Lin Qi said casually.

“What if we can’t beat it?”

“Then you die.”

“…”

“You guess.” Lin Qi smiled.

Hachiman’s forehead dripped with sweat; he felt Lin Qi was capable of ignoring someone in peril, perhaps not harming Yukino but him unsure.

“Can I go home now?” The fish-eyed boy, disheartened, pushed his bike, dancing a moonwalk in retreat.

“You can try,” Lin Qi smiled again.

“Of course not.” Sighing, Hachiman stopped pretending and hurriedly moved next to Yukino, walking side by side. “Protecting a member’s life would be the club leader’s responsibility, right?”

“How spineless, Hachigaya.” Yukino focused straight ahead, similarly nervous, had she spoken these words during regular times, she would glare at him. “It’s fine, even if you cower like a startled frog behind me, I won’t blame you.”

“Okay,” Hachiman nodded.

Yukino choked. He underestimated the resilience of his subordinate. Even Lin Qi found her persistence amusing.

Since Yukino already bore Lin Qi, she wouldn’t be fatally harmed, Yukino, still feeling a lingering guilt towards Hachiman who was hit by her car at the start of term, wanted to compensate by placing herself in harm’s way. However, it seemed she would have to let Hachigan endure hardship instead.

Yukino knew Lin Qi well enough, despite hesitating over not letting Hachiman be killed by a curse spirit, she might delay healing when he was near death.

“We’re nearly there.”

With Lin Qi’s guidance, they reached a district. The older buildings around resembled an era apart from the nearby skyscrapers.

Yukino saw cheap low-rise rental houses, two-story constructions with outside stairwells, rusted iron roofs making one wonder if they could withstand rain. The once-white walls turned yellowish over years, speckled with stains and creeping vines.

She lived in a high-rise near here—unexpected yet somewhat familiar, as if she had once been here before.

Not long after, they stood near a four-story office building enclosed by temporary metal fences, suggesting renovations. Likely the tallest structure. But clearly unused, exposed walls showed peeling paint.

Yukino’s eyes widened sharply; figures emerged from construction, including one of the most familiar to her.

“Sister!?” Instinctively, she sought a hiding spot but at least 200 meters away, unfeasible.

The group noticed them, standing on the main road mid-block.

Her elder sister Yukinoshita Yono seemed almost clairvoyant. Immediately, her sister began closing in, wearing high heels.

She couldn’t escape, immobilized as if under a spell.

“That’s Yukinoshita’s sister?” Hachiman, confounded, asked hopefully. “Looks like she came from that abandoned building; can we not do today?”

But he didn’t have a chance to continue, for Yono was already in front of both.

Sharing seven-tenths of their looks but more mature, Yono wore makeup delicately. Shoulder-length black hair slightly curled, hinting a wine red hue, dreamy and seductive.

Lower, she wore an OL mini skirt suit, business-like attire indicating meetings.

Unlike Yukino who keeps her tie in order, Yono’s was loose, held up by her ample chest—a stark contrast.

“I didn’t expect to meet Xiao Yukino here! What are you doing here?”

Sweet voices with unexpected joy and hidden interrogation filled the air.

Yuno looked at her lovely sister, the fish-eyed youth seemingly ignored entirely.

“The same question to you: Why are you here?”

She averted her head, unable to look at her sister directly.

“Oh, Xiao Yukino, even someone as smart as you gets confused? You know about the area near Xiao Yukino’s building being demolished?” Yono pointed a finger, teasingly. “Assigned to our company, and it got dumped on me, even though I’m still in college.”

Her charm was magnetic.

Hachiman moved further away, intimidated.

Yukino’s head whirled at the revelation.

No wonder it felt familiar!

These past days seemed unreal, causing her forgetfulness.

“So, Xiao Yukino’s presence here—surely you’re not here to help your sister?”

Her smile perfect but eyes chilly.

After School, then Becoming a Jujutsu Sorcerer.
