Transformers Prime: I am Allspark

Chapter 58: The Touch Part 18

The Allspark hovered under the hatch for a few seconds until it suddenly levitated and positioned itself perfectly in the center of the room. It didn't take a minute for the heavily guarded, armored door to open, revealing two robots walking inside, one older looking and the other young.

The older robot had a red color all over its body, its face was a little wrinkled, revealing its advanced age, possessing an impressive height of over 8 meters, a true heavyweight.

The second robot was completely yellow, 6 meters tall, unlike his veteran, he was still a recruit, but he had demonstrated a proficiency in military training that stood out completely, he had the potential to be a true warrior in the future, its name is B-127 or known as Bumblebee.

"Amazing, so this is the Allspark." Bumblebee stared in awe at Cybertron's most important relic, not knowing how to express the honor of seeing it in person.

The older robot gave a subtle smile, remembering what it had been like for him to see the Allspark for the first time when he was younger, millions of years ago. "Bumblebee, as much as you have shown exceptional talent to be considered an apprentice to be one of the guardians of the Allspark, you must not rush, but continue to train and mature so that you can prove yourself worthy of the position."

"I promise to do my best! I feel my determination growing just by being able to see the legendary Allspark." Bumblebee gave a military salute, but could not hide his excitement.

"The training to become a Guardian will be much more intense than normal. We will enhance your natural qualities to the maximum, making you a one-man army." The old Autobot crossed his arms and watched the Allspark carefully, making sure nothing was out of the ordinary. "His qualities are speed and agility. It would be good for you to gain more physical strength to create a more destructive combination, but we already have a foundation to build your ultimate fighting style, you have the potential to be a skilled warrior at a high level, perhaps one day you can reach the level of Ultra Magnus."

Bumblebee nodded, but a small doubt came to his mind, and he couldn't help but ask his teacher. "Sensei, why was I the only one chosen for such a position?"

"To select new recruits for this position, we Guardians hold a vote every 100 Cybertronian cycles to train only one new Guardian. The criteria are strength, endurance, dexterity, speed, strategic knowledge and other individual areas." The old Autobot explained, but only to summarize, because the selection of individuals was more complex than it seemed. "This year the vote had two possible candidates, one was you, Bumblebee, and the other is a robot named Smokescreen. Both have the potential to be Guardians, but we chose you because of your personality."

"My personality?" Bumblebee was surprised.

"Yes, it is very common for bots with great potential to be quite anxious, to have spikes of tension, irritability and nervousness. It was a unanimous vote in favor of you precisely because you do not exhibit these traits like Smokescreen." The old Autobot explained, which surprised Bumblebee even more because he had never thought of it that way. "Protecting the Allspark is not a job to be done for fun, there is no room for error when a situation puts the Allspark in danger. When its safety is at stake, there is no time to hesitate."

Bumblebee looked at his sensei and then at the Allspark, the responsibility growing heavier and heavier, a role where sacrificing one's life for this mission was easily considered without hesitation by the other Guardians. "I will do my best to maintain the prosperity of Cybertron."

"Remember, Bumblebee, if the Allspark is destroyed, Cybertron dies, and along with all Cybertronians, our existence will have no meaning as we lose the light that guides us out of the darkness." The old Autobot puts his hand on Bumblebee's shoulder and tightens his grip. "To be a Guardian is to share the same burden that the Allspark has carried for as long as it has existed, the legacy and future of our species."

Bumblebee nodded, understanding that he would have to grow as a warrior to be worthy of such a responsibility, to be the shield of the pillar of his world's creation, even if it meant destroying his own body to do so.

Seeing the determination in his new student's eyes, the old Autobot began to leave the room, Bumblebee following him as he prepared his mind for the training that was about to begin. "One of our rules is that this room must always remain closed, we cannot be tempted by the unlimited power of the Allspark. We can only check your safety from time to time."

"Why is that?" Bumblebee looked at his master as two other Guardians closed the thick, heavy door.

"There is no information on how the Allspark works, we only know that it has existed since the beginning and its power has always been to create life and generate energy for our planet. Since we do not know how all its requirements work, it is determined that the Allspark has no contact with any Cybertronian, lest a disturbance occur that would cause it to stop working." The old Autobot explained, making it clear that he was afraid the Allspark would stop working for some external reason. Therefore, he was quite paranoid that no one should touch the legendary artifact.

Elita-1 and Orion Pax walked together towards the IACON Library, Orion clearly hit by a wave of exhaustion after finally leaving that nest of sleeping Insecticons.

Elita was proud that Orion had managed to remain calm in that place, it was indeed a sight that would make anyone tremble to the point of loosening their own screws.

"It was a fun day." Elita-1 said, making Orion tense up a little out of reflex, which made her laugh a little at his reaction.

"I'm going to make a new rule for my life: always be suspicious when you invite me to something, no matter what it is." Orion was venting, but there was a bit of irony in the way he spoke.

"Next time we can try something more interesting." Elita teased, making Orion blush.

Elita approached Orion and kissed him on the cheek, making him start at her affectionate display. She said goodbye, struggling to hide her embarrassment. "I'll see you later, try to keep D-16 in line, he'll always listen to your words." She extended her arm in farewell and walked in the opposite direction of the library, finally blushing at her bold move for letting her emotions get the better of her. [Was I too direct? No, no, no! He's naive about these things, but maybe he has the courage to ask me out. It's so embarrassing that I have to do this, damn it, because he always leaves me like this! I like him, but why is he so blind to the fact that I like him? I wish your talent for knowing history was equal to your ability to understand my flirtations].

Orion put a hand to his cheek, his operating systems still trying to recover from Elita's unpredictable display of affection. That was certainly more surprising than literally meeting the creator of their species and planet. It was certainly the busiest day he had had in many years.
