Chapter 56: The Touch Part 16
[Temple of the Allspark]
While Elita-1 and Orion Pax were talking, the Allspark just floated next to them like a balloon. Since the room was probably shielded so that no one could easily enter without an access code, and since it also had noise-dampening features, it was convenient to make it soundproof as well. It would be impossible for the Guardians of the Allspark to know that anyone was in possession of the relic.
"Don't you think it's stupid that this room doesn't have any more security systems?" Elita-1 blurted out one of her intrusive thoughts.
"The Allspark keeps floating around the room in different directions, maybe they just thought that keeping the door or window closed would be enough to keep an eye on it." Orion vented, still shocked that he was literally in the same room as his creator.
Allspark hovered above Orion's head, catching his attention, even more so when he noticed the cyberglyphs that made up its golden structure, with several ancient symbols that caught his attention.
"These cyberglyphs are quite complicated..." Orion whispered, making Elita look at the symbols curiously.
Elita smiled when she saw that Orion seemed a little unconcerned to be in the presence of the Allspark, even more so as he showed more interest in this sacred place. "Do you understand these symbols?"
"A little, I can recognize some letters from the old alphabet, so just compare them with our dialect to get closer to the real meaning, but believe me, it's much harder than it looks." Orion explained, looking closely at the ancient dialect underneath the Allspark, having a little trouble with it as it sometimes spun in a random direction.
"What is written?" Elita stepped closer and took the Allspark in her hands so Orion could read its cyberglyphs.
"Born from chaos to illuminate the universe with its light." Orion murmured, barely audible, but since Elita was paying close attention, she managed to hear it.
"What do you mean?" Elita rotated the Allspark in several positions, causing Orion to tense up at her recklessness, so he slapped her lightly on the shoulder to avoid being too rough with the relic. "Ahgh... sorry."
Elita looked at the walls, saw the imposing figures that would make anyone shudder, and noticed the same cyberglyphs that were printed on the Allspark beneath them, which obviously made her even more curious.
"It seems the walls have the same symbols." Elita said, making Orion stand up to see what was written on the walls.
Orion approached the picture of Prima Prime, which made him seem small in comparison, even though it was a simple picture. He looked at the writing and needed a few minutes of silence to finally understand the text. "He who wielded the Light to lead the new era after the defeat of Chaos." Orion Pax looked at Elita, seeing her confused reaction. "These inscriptions refer to the main characteristics of each Prime."
Elita walked over, holding the Allspark in her hands, and looked closely at the image of the Prima Prime. "If I remember correctly, he used a sword, right?"
"Yes, the Star Saber, with a power that wielded the powers of the Matrix of Leadership. This inscription is directly related to the Matrix and the sword." Orion went to the next picture and recognized it as Amalgamous Prime. His blue eyes read the inscriptions carefully, struggling to understand the text of this Prime. "Master of change, gifted with powers limited only by his imagination."
This text surprised Elita and she wondered how a bot could have such an ability, a power limited only by his imagination. "He must have been very powerful."
"Amalgamous Prime is a very mysterious bot, there are not many records of how his powers worked, legends say that he had the most versatile ability to assume any form, even overcoming his own mass to assume a colossal size." Orion explained, but he himself knew that these were more assumptions than facts, as Amalgamous Prime was a difficult Prime to document due to rumors of his unpredictable personality. "Legend has it that our T-Cog came from the base of his."
"But assuming our T-Cogs are much more boring than his, I imagine it would be fun to transform into anything the imagination allows." Elita walked beside Orion to the next image of the next Prime. But now she was able to identify the image of this Prime, as he was quite worshipped by many bots. "Onyx Prime, the infamous ancestor of all beasts."
"The dragon who could seek spiritual state and wisdom amidst his burning flames." Orion said, reading the inscriptions carefully, understanding their meaning, for Onyx had a deep connection to the Allspark, while also being known for its immense firepower.
"A winged lizard that breathes fire, that's pretty descriptive." Elita released the Allspark from her grip, letting it float beside her as she walked to the next image, once again feeling the sensation of power as she saw the image of the Prime, recognizing the grandeur of just seeing him like that. "This bot is..."
"Vector Prime, the Keeper of Space and Time. Legends say he may still be alive, but since there were no records of him after the war against the Quintessons, it is difficult to determine his fate." Orion approached the wall and began to read the text below the image of this mighty Prime. "The holder of the power that transcends the concept of time, capable of exploring the unknown."
"An honest question, is he the most powerful? Or was it Prima Prime because he was the leader?" Elita asked, looking at Allspark for a moment, waiting for him to answer.
"Defining who is the most powerful is complex, but using powers as a basis, only four of the thirteen Primes stand out in terms of raw power." Orion said, having Elita's full attention, but knowing that she didn't like ambiguity, he knew that he had to say who was the strongest in his opinion. "I believe the most powerful position is only between Vector Prime or Megatronus Prime, both would be technically in several balanced terms, while Prima Prime and Onyx Prime have much more direct and simple powers compared to the battle aspect requirement according to the legends."
"Just be direct and say it already." Elita demanded impatiently.
"Vector Prime." Orion admitted, a little nervous because of Elita's temper when she was curious. "Vector Prime's power is something practically unimaginable in any context, real or not, it had to be respected."
Elita found Orion's reaction somewhat amusing, knowing that it could cause a conflict of personal taste among many bots. It wasn't uncommon for some to have preferences about which Prime was the most powerful or important, as it's a subject that naturally intrigues many about the first Transformers to be born and walk Cybertron.
"I recommend not revealing that to D." Elita scoffs, her exaggerated sarcasm shining through.
They both stayed in the golden room on this little excursion until they finally arrived at the thirteenth image, which, unlike the others, seemed to be split into two parts, seemingly representing two different bots, but upon closer inspection, it was the same robot.
"Is this Megatronus Prime? Or another Prime? Why is its armor different?" Elita asked Orion, noticing that the Allspark that always accompanied them was farther away this time, as if there was a mistrust now. [Is Allspark retreating? Is he afraid by any chance?] She thought, a little worried about the Allspark's behavior.
Noting this small change in the Allspark's behavior, Orion approached the image and noticed that it now had two phrases, which surprised him, as no other Prime had been given an additional representative phrase.
"The Reincarnation of Strength and Justice, The Creator of Honor." Orion whispered, reading the first sentence carefully, feeling how simple and imposing it was.
"No wonder D is his fanboy." Elita teased, but she was a little suspicious of how reclusive the Allspark was because of the image. She noticed that Orion was more serious, his calm and curious look had changed to a more attentive and worried one. "What does the second text say?"
"Chaos cannot be avoided, but it can be controlled." Orion said, his voice taking on a serious tone. He looked at the image of Megatronus Prime and felt that these words were not representative of subduing chaos, but literally using it as a form of power. "Of all the images, Megatronus Prime is the only one who is shown with this image divided into gold and dark, as if..."
"Wouldn't that be a retraction of corruption?" Elita-1 suggested, but she wasn't quite sure.
"The story goes that Megatronus Prime was Prima Prime's rival, but both knew how to unite when the situation demanded it. The age of the Primes ended suddenly when the war against the Quintessons was already over. The Primes have disappeared, and the only records we have are rumors or conflicting legends." Orion looked at the Allspark and began to understand that perhaps the only one who knew what had happened was the Allspark itself.
