Toymaker: Isekai

Chapter 3: The Storm (3)

Early the next day about 4am Jeff finally ended his sketching, the details of the clone trooper armor was simple but he kept doubting himself on which areas had specific details till he reached a point that he felt it looked familiar.

He placed his mechanical pencil aside and after eating a protein bar he would wash his face and go to bed for a bit.

Time passes uneventfully and he woke up again 8 hours after, perfectly on time for lunch, he looked at his balance record on his Holocom and found that he still had a few hundred coins remaining so he ended up ordering a cheap meal online, 12.99 total for two basic cheeseburgers with a side of medium fries and a coke.

While eating he would open the Virtual Market to register a shop.

He filled in the openings except one since it was automatically filled by the system, it was the planet name area which was filled immediately with Copper-1 or Copone for short, Copone was similar to earth except the land areas are closer to each other, though still separated by water.

"City... Citreone... Ditrict... D#5... Country... Cipherone... Age 25... Marital single... Done... Pseudonym... Hmmm lets go with Fun Haus from brave and bold"

After filling up the form and eating his lunch he tapped enter and his virtual shop application got processed in an instant, computer servers are fast in this world.

[Your application has been GREEN lighted, you may choose when you shall open your shop and if you wish to use your physical shop to accomodate customers Virtual Spectres]

Virtual Spectres are the avatars of the customers when they use a virtual portal and a full dive capable system to visit a physical shop.

"Okay the shops ready to go anytime, now to make the clone troopers and market them first"

The college gave very limited materials, the box he received held the following, 6 5" thick/12" long Pale wood, 400g Red crystal shavings, 400g Shattered clear crystal, a 12"x12" sheet of Black Steel, and a can of deep black paint, the boxes held random materials and some mightve gotten better.

"Red shavings? Explosive Garnet or Charged Ruby? Hopefully its charged ruby, hmm i need to buy clay for the characters flesh, how much are they right now?"

Jeff took all the materials with him to the table and proceeded to scan the contents of the Red shavings jar on the built in scanner of the Holocom, while the scanner did its work so did he, he picked a wood piece of appropriate size, returning the wood he grabbed before, then grabbed his carving knife.

He started slowly whittling away on the wood, it was slow in the eyes of other Toymakers but it was fast in the eyes of normal people, though for him he wanted to keep his hands safe from injury so he opted to go at a pace that he was comfortable with.

Pale wood although being a low quality material had very good beam deflecting capabilities when smoothened, and coated in heat resistant paint, and coating.

The only problem is that it also retains too much heat from the beams it deflects causing it to become brittle and break over time if not given time to cooldown, the cooldown time for Pale wood is too long especially in nonstop combat, there are better alternatives but for minion type characters it was the perfect cheap and expendable material since minions dont increase the worlds power limit unless the world is super weak.

After whittling away at the wood he then switched to carving as he grabbed gougers to hollow out the armor and add openings to the body armor, he switched between a smaller V gouger and a chisel to add the details onto the armor, after he finished adding the small details he then grabbed some sand paper of varying grits and started smoothening the first armor he made.

After smoothening it was then he realized something.

"Ah! I forgot to buy the clay!"

Jeff looked at the time and then found out that it took him about 6 hours for the chest piece.

"6 hours.. thats an okay time i guess, im not a genius even in college i only ranked 78th in the list of passers, anyway buy the clay before i continue"

He opened a website that listed all types of clay Toymakers could buy, he scrolled through the different brands and chose a cheap type of air dry flesh clay that was 124.50 coins for 1kg, he bought 2kg, the transaction was processed and 249 coins was deducted from his bank account leaving him with about 96.01 coins dropping him in the red.

"I really need to sell otherwise off to Quarry-7 i go"

He slapped his cheeks and then focused on carving another chest piece again, it took another 6 hours but he lowered it by a 8 minutes or so while still achieving an even better quality than the first, he had dinner at midnight by microwaving the premade meals in his fridge.

He got some wooden mannequins and some tiny strap locks along with some contact cement that was literally just in a drawer on the first floor of his house.

He placed them near the table just to ready up on the next step but first he went to buy transparent anti-beam coating and white spray paint, these expenditures dropped him to 10.01 coins, super red financially.

"I regret buying that meal now, shouldve waited for when i get my first sale AAAAAAAAAAA!"
