"Hmm, would I need this card? Maybe not, but what if I have to face a machine deck?" Jack mussed as he sort through his collection one last time before he have to head to class. For the last couple of days, he has been researching potential opponents for the upcoming Duel Brawl and what kinds of decks he might face. The upcoming event also meant a lot more clients that needed Jack's help to better improve their decks. This resulted in Jack visiting the Trade Center several times a day to look for cards that both he and his clients wanted. Before he knew it the start of the Duel Brawls finally arrived. "Ugh, I wish I can just bring my whole collection." He looked at the several binders of cards around him and his two tall book selves filled with even more binders. Glancing down at his Duel Watch, Jack groaned when he saw it was time for him to go. After quickly putting back the leftover cards away and reshelving his binders, Jack grabbed his bag and ran out of his room. It didn't take long after leaving the boy's dorms for Jack to notice two of his friends running towards him.
"Hey Annie, hey Crimson."
"Hi, Jack!/Heya Jack!" The two girls greeted stopping before they tackled him.
"You two exited for the Deul Brawls to start?"
"Yea! This is my chance to show the rest of our year how great Heroes are!"
"I'm so excited imaging all the Duels I'll be having!"
"Don't you already do at least 4 Duels a day Crimosn?" Jack asked.
"Yea, but sometimes people decline my challenge."She answered sadly while tapping her pointer fingers together. "But with the Duel Bralws happening, the chances of that happening now are non-existent!" Crimson's mood shot back up as Annie's eyes widen at her reasoning.
"Your right!" Annie immediately stopped and pointed at Jack. "I challenge you to a Duel my fated rival!" Jack sighed but couldn't help smiling as Crimson started to giggle.
"Cut it out Annie we still have classes to attend. Also speaking of classes we should probably hurry up if we want to get something to eat and not be late." The two girls looked at each other before nodding.
"Race you there!/Race you there!" They yelled before they started dashing away.
"Hey wait!" Jack said too late. "Come on." He sighed before running up to try to catch up to them. Arriving at the Gathering Hall, Jack scanned the tables as he tried to catch his breath. It didn't take long for him to find the two girls waving toward him at one of the tables. Sitting down at the table, he ordered a light breakfast of scrambled eggs with rice.
"Was Jack's backpack always that big?" Crimson asked Annie while taking a big bite of her syrup-soaked pancakes. Annie paused eating her cereal and glanced at the bag.
"Now that you mention it your right, it is bigger than usual."
"I wonder why."
"Yea, it could be for any number of reasons." Both started shooting several glances toward Jack and his bag.
"You two could have just asked." Jack could only roll his eyes as he lifted his bag onto the table. "I bought a bigger backpack a couple of days ago so I can hold all the cards I need." He opened his bag to show several binders and decks organized with labels inside. "I've been researching popular decks and potential Duelists I might face and have been amassing cards that might help me."
"Ooohh, what do you have to go against me." Asked Crimson, eyes shining as she stare at the cards.
"Wait don't tell her, and don't tell me! The greatest part about a clash between heroes is the back and forth!"
"Hahah, you heard her Crimson I'm afraid I can't tell you what I have prepared."
"Aw." Finishing up their breakfast the trio continued their day as normal until they reached the last class of the day.
"GREETINGS STUDENTS! I'm happy to announce that the Duel Brawls has officially begun." The class erupted into cheers. Romach waited for the students to quiet down before continuing. "To celebrate this occasion I'll be dismissing you all early." The class once more erupted in cheers and murmurs. "Quite now," Romach said, silencing the students. "I know you are all excited but I must clarify some things before I can let you all go. First, keep in mind that all Duels are recorded and filed under your profile. Meaning that anyone has access to any of your older duels. Second cheating is prohibited, especially during the Duel brawls as this greatly affects your rankings. Anyone caught cheating will be subjected to harsh punishments, including expulsion." Several students gulped at Romachs sharp glare. "Lastly remember that classes are still being held and your grades do have a significant impact on your final ranking at the end of the year." Romach turned to the class and gave the students a wide grin. "Your all free to go, and try to enjoy your duels." With a loud cheer, Romach dismissed the class.
It didn't take long after Romach dismissed the class before Jack was confronted by Annie who could barely stand still with Annie closely behind. "Jack let's go! I already booked an arena we can have our duel in." He nodded following close behind her. Arriving at the arena Jack walked to his side of the field while thinking of a strategy to use against his childhood friend. While the two Duelists went to their respective sides of the arena, Crimosn quickly ran to the viewing area to watch the Duel. Deciding on what to do as step onto the lift, Jack prepared the deck as he was lifted up. Finishing his preparation he saw Annie staring at him with a wide grin as he stood up. "You ready!" Jack smiled.
"Whenever you are."
"Yes! Let's get this duel started!"

"I choose heads." As soon as he made his choice a great hologram of a coin appeared and started falling in the middle of the arena. Flipping several times in the air, the coin eventually landed on tails. "What do you say, Annie?"
"As my rival, I'll face you with all I got! I'll go first." She replied as her grin grew. "Ready?"
"Ready." They both nodded at each other.
"It's time to Duel!/Let The Duel Begin!"
