Chapter 29 - 29 Fetal Movement
Chapter 29: Chapter 29 Fetal Movement
Li Fei was taken home by a car from the Inspection Bureau.
He still didn’t know that because of his issue, the Inspection Bureau had stirred up quite a storm; he simply ate his meal as usual and then returned to his room to train.
First, he took a Withered Fire Pill, then took the medication for the Embryo Cultivation Stage.
This time, after taking the Withered Fire Pill, he felt like something under his skin was trying to burrow out, creating a stronger sense of hunger than before.
He had never felt this during the previous days of medication.
“What’s happening?”
Li Fei was taken aback.
He glanced at the Myriad Blood Pearl; the Blood Soul was depleting faster than before, and the increase in energy was greater than in the past as well.
“I don’t know if it’s good or bad, I’ll ask the teacher tomorrow.”
Since the Blood Soul was depleting within a controllable range, Li Fei wasn’t panicking and planned to seek Hao Yi’s advice tomorrow.
Next, he took two more Nourishing Embryo Pills and also applied more Golden Kui Ointment than usual to alleviate the hunger caused by the Steel Armor Implant.
It wasn’t until after 10 PM that Li Lei returned home. He didn’t eat first but went straight to Li Fei’s room:
“Xiao Fei, the investigation results are out.”
“Hmm, was it orchestrated by the Tiger Saber Gang?”
Li Fei asked.
Li Lei shook his head, “The person who led the attack on you is called Liu Wen, the Gang Leader of the Bear Power Gang, which is an affiliate of the Tiger Saber Gang. I originally thought it was ordered by the Tiger Saber Gang, but when we pressured Liu Wen to confess, he said it was the Chen Family that approached them, offering 2000 yuan for one of your legs.”
“The Chen Family?”
Li Fei was startled, immediately thinking of Chen Lixin.
If there was anyone in the Chen Family who wanted to deal with him, it would certainly be Chen Lixin.
He had initially thought the Tiger Saber Gang was behind this, but it turned out to be this Eldest Young Master Chen.
It made sense; the other party held a grudge since Li Fei had embarrassed him during the graduation exam and had found someone to settle the score.
“2000 yuan, this Eldest Young Master Chen is really generous.”
Li Fei laughed.
Li Lei sighed, “Chen Lixin didn’t contact the Bear Power Gang directly; he’s not that foolish. So if we keep investigating, at most it’ll lead to some servant of the Chen Family, who will step forward and take the blame for Chen Lixin. It’s unlikely that we’ll be able to do much to Chen Lixin.”
“Hmm, I understand, Uncle Li.”
Li Fei nodded in understanding.
In this era, even martial artists from the Tiger Saber Gang could get away with murder, let alone the Eldest Young Master of the Chen Family?
“However, don’t worry, the ruckus I kicked up was significant. Even if the Tiger Saber Gang really harbored any intentions, they wouldn’t dare touch you now after this.”
Li Lei to Li Fei.
Despite not uncovering a direct involvement from the Tiger Saber Gang, the Investigation Bureau had clearly showed their stand that certain lines cannot be crossed!
It also preemptively eliminated some future threats for Li Fei, and Li Lei didn’t feel that his effort had been wasted.
“As for Chen Lixin, I will continue to investigate this case and demand an explanation from the Chen Family, and also serve them a warning. Chen Lixin will soon be going to university, and probably won’t have the time or inclination to bother with you anymore.”
Li Lei continued.
“Okay, thank you, Uncle Li.”
Li Fei nodded.
“Kid, no need to be so formal with me.”
Li Lei ruffled his hair, “Alright now, you go rest.”
Then he left the room.
“Come and eat, I just reheated all the dishes.”
In the living room, Zhang Yuqing spoke softly to Li Lei.
“Okay.”
Li Lei walked to the dining table, picked up his chopsticks, and began eating.
“Is something wrong with Xiao Fei?” Zhang Yuqing asked with concern.
Today she had seen Li Fei being brought back by a car from the Inspection Bureau, and Li Lei returned home particularly late. He immediately went to find Li Fei upon arriving, so she suspected something.
“Yes, there was a slight issue, but it has been resolved, so don’t worry.”
Li Lei never talked in detail about dangerous matters. In front of his wife, it was always ‘a minor issue, which has been resolved.’
In this respect, Li Fei was similar to him. After returning home today, he did not mention the attack to Zhang Yuqing or Tian Yu at all. There were no signs of anything unusual from start to finish.
But Zhang Yuqing still felt some anxiety, “Even if you don’t tell me, I can guess as much. Xiao Fei wants to grab that university quota from Martial Arts Hall, but you’ve said the situation there is complicated. By entering, he’s stepping on other people’s toes, so he’s bound to be targeted. That happened today, didn’t it?”
Li Lei nodded while munching on his food.
Old Li, isn’t it too dangerous for Xiao Fei? Shall we not compete for that quota? If it comes to it, we can save up for a few years. After Tian Yu graduates from university, we can send Xiao Fei to college then.”
Zhang Yuqing was clutching Li Lei’s sleeve.
Li Fei was raised by her from a young age; to her, he was no different from her own son.
Li Lei put down his chopsticks and turned to his wife, taking her hand:
“Don’t worry. I made a big fuss at the Bureau today, and the Inspector General made it clear he supports me. From now on, nobody will dare to casually mess with Xiao Fei. Any conflict with them should now be out in the open, and everyone will rely on their own abilities.”
With that, he recalled how Li Fei fought over a dozen people alone today and what Lu Sheng had told him, and he couldn’t help but smile:
“Also, don’t underestimate Xiao Fei. This kid is getting more promising. In the future, he’s definitely going to become even more formidable. No one who wants to mess with him will find it easy!”
…
The next morning, Li Fei repacked two bags of Lime Powder on himself, wore the anti-stabbing clothes, placed an iron rod from Liu Wen into his canvas bag, and then ran out, heading towards Martial Arts Hall.
On his way, he safely reached Martial Arts Hall.
However, today, instead of going directly to the practice building to fire up the Medicine Bath Room, he first went to Hao Yi’s office.
“Teacher.”
At this moment, Hao Yi was drinking tea in the office. Seeing Li Fei, he was startled:
“What’s the matter?”
Then Li Fei told him of the unusual feeling he had developed.
“Do you feel like something under your skin wants to break out? Has the hunger from the Implant increased?”
Hao Yi looked at Li Fei somewhat surprised, “That shouldn’t be.”
“Teacher, is there a problem with the Implant?” Li Fei asked, a bit nervous from his reaction.
“Your Implant is the Steel Armor, and feeling this means that the embryo you’re nurturing is active. This is a sign that you’re about to breakthrough to the Body Breaking Stage,” Hao Yi said, giving Li Fei a peculiar look.
“Ah?” Li Fei was also surprised.
Although he practiced the Heavenly Gang Dominator Body technique twice a day and had taken the Withered Fire Pill, he had been in the Embryo Cultivation Stage for less than ten days. Was he really about to reach Body Breaking?
Wasn’t it said that even for the most talented individuals, progressing from Embryo Cultivation to Body Breaking normally takes a month?
“Have you done anything unusual in the past few days?” Hao Yi asked.
“Anything unusual?” Li Fei thought back. He suddenly remembered that yesterday, during his scuffle with Liu Wen and the others, he seemed to vaguely feel something moving under his skin, but at the time, he was focused on the fight and hadn’t paid much attention to it.
Could it be related to that?
He then recounted yesterday’s attack to Hao Yi. If there was anything unusual recently, it was only that.
“You said you were attacked?!” Upon hearing this, Hao Yi’s expression instantly darkened, a surprising evil Qi emanating from him.
