This Is Definitely Not Dragon Ball!!

Chapter 146: Crisis and Opportunity

In the original Dragon Ball series, Raditz's arrival on Earth marked the true start of the Z storyline. Powerful Saiyans, the evil Frieza, and one formidable enemy after another from across the universe would soon appear on stage!

If he wanted, Yuujin could have actually delayed the Z storyline's arrival by quietly eliminating Raditz. Even if Princess Vegeta eventually found Earth, it would take quite a long time. And by not disclosing the existence of Dragon Balls, it was possible to avoid a battle with Frieza altogether.

Yet, Yuujin chose not to do this; he proactively contacted Vegeta, guiding her to Earth. Constant avoidance is the way of the weak, and Yuujin did not want to be that kind of coward. Moreover, for his ambitions and goals, he knew these enemies were ones he would have to face sooner or later.

Naturally, there were other reasons too.

Living peacefully on Earth for all these years was pleasant but ultimately detrimental to a Saiyan's growth. Despite constant training, Yuujin and Goku had clearly hit a plateau. No matter how hard they tried, their power growth had slowed significantly.

One reason might be that their bodies had reached a certain limit, but Yuujin believed it was largely due to the lack of crises and challenges. Saiyans are a race that grows stronger with each battle. The greater the danger, the faster their growth. Right now, Yuujin and Goku needed that pressure to push past their limits.

As crazy as it seemed, only by facing these crises could they shatter their limits and perhaps even achieve the legendary Super Saiyan form!

Upon returning to the temple, Yuujin gathered Bulma and the others, explaining the history of the Saiyans and announcing to all humanity that war was imminent. Realistically, Princess Vegeta alone was no threat; Yuujin and his allies could handle her with ease. But their true enemy was not Vegeta; it was the evil galactic emperor, Frieza, behind her!

Years earlier, Yuujin and King Kaiselukin had publicly disclosed the existence of extraterrestrial life. Since then, they had accelerated Earth's technological and military advancements, including creating an Earth military force capable of interstellar combat.

Hearing the god's declaration of an impending war with an alien race left people both anxious and somewhat excited. This tense atmosphere soon permeated every corner of the planet.

Military movements began, resources were gathered, and factories operated around the clock to produce war supplies. The entire planet was in a frenzy of preparation!

While everyone prepared, Yuujin and Goku spent their days in the temple. Aside from essential training, they indulged and relaxed. Both had reached a plateau in their training, and no amount of effort could bring significant short-term gains; even eating 100 Esenji for 1 month straight barely raised their power by a hundred, while in the past, they would have raised their power by 100,000! Thus, they decided to relax, allowing their S-cells to accumulate naturally, in hopes the upcoming crises would help them transcend into Super Saiyans.

Although cultivating S-cells required a calm state of mind, it was debatable whether their relaxed lifestyle really counted as calm.

Let's just assume it did...

One day, Yuujin was playfully teasing his maids in the temple when Princess Snake, in her uniform and moving gracefully, entered from outside.

"Master, Yamcha and Tien Shinhan are here to see you."

"Yamcha and Tien Shinhan?"

A bit surprised, Yuujin said, "Let them in."

Yuujin patted Suno and Meizhen, who were resting in his arms, and they quickly composed themselves, respectfully standing on either side of him.

Soon, Princess Snake escorted Tien Shinhan, Yamcha, Krillin, and Chiaotzu into the room.

"Lord Yuujin."

"Tien, Yamcha, Krillin, Chiaotzu. What brings you here?"

Even though he spent most of his time with his wives in the temple, Yuujin would occasionally visit the surface to check on Master Roshi and the others, so he wasn't distant from them.

Over the years, Tien Shinhan and Yamcha had grown substantially and become respected martial artists. Their skills in the World Martial Arts Tournament had made them as famous as any celebrity.

"Lord Yuujin, you recently announced that war would soon begin and that powerful enemies would invade Earth. We feel we're still too weak, so we're hoping you could allow us to train with King Kai, as you and Lady Goku once did."

After bowing to Yuujin, Tien Shinhan and Yamcha made their request.

Although they were strong, they lacked the growth potential of Yuujin's hand-trained Goku and Chi-Chi. Still, Yuujin respected Tien Shinhan and Yamcha for their determination and talent. Yamcha, for example, had focused entirely on martial arts, gaining strength far beyond his original Dragon Ball counterpart, becoming a world-renowned fighter along with Krillin.

Seizing the Earth's crisis as an opportunity, Yuujin decided it was indeed a good idea to let them train with King Kai.

"Princess Snake, summon Piccolo."

"Yes, Master."

"Suno, Meizhen, please bring Yamcha and the others some Senzu beans from Eden."

Suno and Meizhen retrieved the Senzu beans, and Tien Shinhan's group accepted them gratefully.

Soon, Princess Snake returned, accompanied by two members of the Red Silk Girls, escorting Piccolo.

Tall and draped in a white cape, this was none other than Piccolo, or Piccolo II, who had inherited the strength and personality of the original Demon King Piccolo.

"Hey, Piccolo. Long time no see," Krillin greeted with a grin.

Piccolo huffed, ignoring him, and turned to Yuujin.

"I finished my last task. What do you need now?"

Piccolo had been challenging Yuujin for years, always losing yet returning to train harder and challenge him again. To put an end to this endless cycle, Yuujin imposed a rule: each time Piccolo lost, he'd have to complete a task. If he refused, he would never get a rematch.

While it irked Piccolo, he accepted the rule, doing whatever tasks Yuujin assigned — from disaster relief to urban development. Over time, people came to see him as a protector rather than a villain, and even a fan club emerged, much to Piccolo's dismay.

"Don't worry, I'm no exploiter. You did well on your last task, so you get a break. This time, you'll be joining Tien and Yamcha to train with King Kai."

"King Kai?" Piccolo asked, eyes narrowing.

"King Kai is a god governing our galaxy, ranked far above me. You'll be training under the North Kai, where I once trained."

Understanding this, Piccolo smirked.

"You're not worried I'll come back and beat you?"

Yuujin simply laughed.

"Piccolo, you're honest with your nature and ambition, which I admire. But make no mistake — you'll never surpass me."

Tien, Yamcha, and the others suppressed their laughter, while Piccolo trembled in anger, his face turning green.

"One day, I'll defeat you!"

"Oh, I'll be waiting," Yuujin replied with a smirk.

Since everyone was present, Yuujin used his godly privilege to send them to the Other World.

Over the next year, Earth entered a quiet yet intense phase, training and preparing for the invasion. Chi-Chi, Launch, and the Red Silk Girls trained tirelessly, while Bulma and Tights managed logistics. Meanwhile, Yuujin and Goku relaxed in the sun, perhaps the only ones at ease on the entire planet.

And finally, as the moment arrived, the long-awaited enemy descended upon Earth…

To be continued.

Bulma says in front of Trunks, "Yuujin, let's make a Trunks in this timeline…"

Earth's Expedition force encounters a ferocious Saiyan on an unknown planet!
