Chapter 9: Chapter 9: The Starting Point of Everything, the Crafting Table!

The moment the dirt cube thrown by Fu Zhu hit the ground, it transformed into a one-cubic-meter Dirt Block.

Seeing this, Wen Shiling cupped her small face in astonishment, shaking her head repeatedly.

"Impossible! This isn't scientific! This completely violates the Law of Conservation of Mass! Or is it, Mr. Fu Zhu, that you used some kind of scaling technology I'm unaware of? But I brought this soil myself, and I didn't see you tamper with it, Mr. Fu Zhu! This isn't scientific!"

Fu Zhu smiled and gestured downwards with his hand a few times, indicating for Wen Shiling to calm down.

"Don't worry, this is just the most basic part. The main event is still to come."

Fu Zhu converted the few remaining bones in his inventory entirely into Bone Meal. He then planted the sapling he had converted onto the dirt block and sprinkled the Bone Meal from his right hand onto the small sapling.

March 7th and the others held their breath, staring intently at Fu Zhu's series of actions, afraid to miss a single detail.

Wen Shiling stared fixedly at Fu Zhu's hand, simultaneously taking out a detection device from her waist. This device could detect the presence of the Power of the Paths.

She believed that if Fu Zhu wasn't using some kind of technology, he must be using the Power of the Paths. Otherwise, it would be impossible to increase the mass of the soil tenfold in an instant!

Just as everyone was staring intently at the sapling, the next second, the sapling, originally less than half a meter tall, instantly grew into a five-meter-tall Oak tree in the blink of an eye. Although this Oak tree looked rather blocky, it didn't stop the crowd from letting out gasps of amazement.

"Oh my god, Xing, did you see that?! Your brother just sprinkled some powder on it, and the tree suddenly grew huge!"

"I saw! Bro, how did you do that?!"

Wen Shiling stared blankly at the suddenly grown Oak tree, then glanced at the detector, which hadn't sounded any alarms. This meant Fu Zhu hadn't used any Power of the Paths, nor had she seen any sign of him using technology, apart from the powder he had just sprinkled.

"This isn't scientific!"

Wen Shiling covered her face and let out another cry of disbelief. Then, as if struck by a thought, her eyes turned slightly red as she stared at Fu Zhu, panting heavily like an ox.

Fu Zhu had been feeling satisfied by everyone's gasps of surprise, but he suddenly noticed Wen Shiling looking at him strangely.

"Uh... Miss Wen, what's wrong?"

Wen Shiling, breathing heavily, took a step forward and suddenly knelt before Fu Zhu with a thump, clasping her hands devoutly before her chest.

"Great Mr. Fu Zhu, please sprinkle that magical powder on my head!"

She had one wish: to break through her racial limitations and grow as tall as Lead Researcher Asta!

And the Bone Meal Fu Zhu had just sprinkled on the sapling had shown her hope.

Fu Zhu scratched the side of his face awkwardly. "Sorry, this Bone Meal only works on plants. It's useless on people."

"How could this be!"

Wen Shiling slammed her hands onto the ground in grief, wailing endlessly.

Meanwhile, Asta, after her brief surprise, immediately forwarded the footage captured by the camera to Herta. She felt Ms. Herta might know what technique Fu Zhu was using.

Herta, currently busy with the Simulated Universe project in her office, casually glanced at the video Asta sent. Initially, she hadn't planned to waste time on such trivial matters, but she inadvertently noticed Fu Zhu and Xing in the video – those two little guys who interested her. She put down her work, sat back in her chair, crossed her legs, and leisurely watched the video.

After just ten seconds or so, Herta shot up from her chair, pressing her small face desperately close to the screen.

What did she just see? A sapling instantly grew into a five-meter-tall Oak tree in less than a frame!

One must know that for a sapling to grow five meters tall takes years! And this video showed absolutely no signs of editing or forgery!

Herta didn't believe Asta would deliberately fake a video to tease her either. That meant this could only be real! It had happened just moments ago!

At this thought, Herta immediately abandoned the Simulated Universe project, instantly switched her consciousness to the puppet in the Master Control Zone, and rushed towards the command room at top speed.

When an excited Herta pushed open the command room door, she happened to see Fu Zhu chopping down a section of the Oak tree bare-handed, while Asta and the others were gathered around him, clapping and exclaiming in amazement.

"Don't chop it! Let me see first!"

Herta cried out, lunging forward and grabbing Fu Zhu's arm tightly, refusing to let him chop the remaining wood under any circumstances.

Asta walked over, tugged Herta's sleeve, and pointed at the floating upper half of the Oak tree.

"Ms. Herta, compared to the sapling's instant growth, don't you think there's something even more outrageous right before our eyes?"

"What?"

Herta turned her head quizzically, her gaze landing squarely on the upper half of the Oak tree floating in mid-air. Her eyes widened considerably.

"Unaffected by gravity? Is the space locked?"

Herta muttered, releasing her grip on Fu Zhu's arm. She walked under the floating half-log and began examining it.

"No, there's nothing abnormal about the space, and no anomalies detected on the Oak wood either. It feels like... this Oak wood was just always here? What's going on? Has reality been altered?"

Herta frowned, turning her head to look at Fu Zhu.

"Did you do this?"

Fu Zhu readily nodded in admission. He then opened his inventory, crafted a Crafting Table from the Log he had just harvested, and placed it on the ground with a slap.

Looking at the Crafting Table before him, Fu Zhu finally let out the breath he had been holding in.

"Finally made it. Ah, that feels good."

[Progress Unlocked: Isn't This a Crafting Table?]

[Achievement Points Obtained: 1]

Without a Crafting Table, it always felt like something was missing!

Now that he had one, he could finally start developing! Plus, he could unlock more achievements through the Crafting Table later to gain more Achievement Points.

He was one step closer to buying mods!

Herta's question hadn't even been answered when she saw Fu Zhu place another wooden cube.

"What's this now?"

"A Crafting Table. A type of technology from my hometown."

Fu Zhu explained casually, then used his existing materials to craft an Iron Pickaxe and a Fishing Rod.

"This is technology too?!"

Herta looked incredulous, touching the Crafting Table several times. She couldn't find any parts, electronic circuits, or anything related to technology.

Damn it, what if I suddenly lose interest in the Simulated Universe?!

Herta's eyes sparkled as she looked up at Fu Zhu, who was earnestly crafting items.

I really want to completely understand this mysterious man!
