Chapter 5: Chapter 5: The Storm Subsides

Fu Zhu glanced at the various miscellaneous blocks he had collected in his inventory. Counting them up, if used properly, they were enough to firmly pin the Doomsday Beast to the ground, immobilizing it.

Just as Himeko was about to command the attack, Fu Zhu spoke up first. "Everyone, can you help me restrict its movements? It would be best to knock it down to the ground. I have a way to trap it."

Himeko hesitated slightly, then nodded. "Alright. Although I don't know what you're planning, go ahead and do it. Leave the rest to us."

"Okay."

Fu Zhu nodded and ran towards the other side of the battlefield. He currently had no armor and didn't know how high the Doomsday Beast's damage was. It would be bad if he got instantly killed. It was best to avoid the direct confrontation while Himeko and the others hadn't yet restrained the beast.

After briefly assigning tasks to Dan Heng and the others, Himeko summoned her drone and stayed back with March 7th to provide cover for Dan Heng and Xing.

Despite this, Dan Heng and Xing were still being suppressed by the Doomsday Beast, forced to dodge constantly, not daring to take its attacks head-on.

Fu Zhu secretly seized an opportunity, ran directly behind the Doomsday Beast, and used some of the miscellaneous blocks he had casually collected earlier to completely encircle its tail.

The Doomsday Beast, which had been about to continue its attack, shifted its body and found itself suddenly unable to move, as if someone behind it was gripping its tail tightly, preventing movement.

The Doomsday Beast looked back and saw Fu Zhu, who had just finished placing the blocks. It instantly flew into a rage. The core in its chest pulsed with terrifying energy fluctuations, and then a chilling beam shot straight towards Fu Zhu.

Trouble!

The surrounding environment was too open; Fu Zhu had nowhere to hide. He had no choice but to pull out a metal fragment, throw it at his feet, and hide behind the newly converted iron door.

He had confirmed earlier – although the iron door could be destroyed, it could at least block the beam for an instant before exploding!

He just needed it to buy him a tiny bit of time!

The beam struck the iron door directly. A violent explosion kicked up a cloud of dust, obscuring the situation within.

"Bro!"

Xing's face instantly turned deathly pale. Although she had amnesia, from the bottom of her heart, she saw Fu Zhu, the first person she saw upon waking, as her older brother.

And now, Fu Zhu had taken a direct hit from the beam. Relying on just that flimsy iron door, she didn't think her brother could possibly survive unscathed.

"Damn you, Doomsday Beast!"

Xing gritted her teeth, glaring at the Doomsday Beast before her. Her yellow eyes brightened slightly, and a terrifying aura emanated from her.

In a daze, Xing seemed to see the figure of a massive, grey-haired man appear before her, golden light flowing around his form.

"Xing, don't lose focus!"

Dan Heng pushed the dazed Xing aside, then dodged to the side himself, narrowly avoiding the Doomsday Beast's claw swipe.

Snapping back to reality, Xing gripped her baseball bat and charged towards the Doomsday Beast. Dodging its claw attack, she ran up along its arm onto its back, swung the bat with all her might, and smashed it down onto its head!

"This one's for my brother!"

Pow!

The force of Xing's blow was immense, directly slamming the Doomsday Beast flat onto the ground. It shook its head groggily, clearly dazed from the impact.

"Nice job, Xing!"

Suddenly, Fu Zhu dashed out from the other side, blocks in hand, rushing towards the prone Doomsday Beast.

Standing on the Doomsday Beast's back, Xing saw the 'resurrected' Fu Zhu and waved happily at him.

"Bro, you weren't dead after all!"

"We'll talk later."

Fu Zhu had no time to retort now. He ran up to the Doomsday Beast and, before it could get up, raised his hand and used the blocks to firmly pin its right arm to the ground.

The Doomsday Beast, recovering its senses, was about to retaliate, but Xing and Dan Heng wouldn't give it the chance. Working together, they struck again, beating the beast, which had just started to straighten up, back down onto the ground.

Fu Zhu seized this opportunity, using up all the blocks in his hand to firmly secure the Doomsday Beast's head and remaining left arm to the ground, immobilizing it completely.

After doing all this, Fu Zhu finally let out a thorough sigh of relief.

An immobilized Doomsday Beast was like a fish on the chopping block, ready for him to carve up.

Thinking this, Fu Zhu gave a wicked grin and pulled out the Godfall Sword again, eyeing the Doomsday Beast up and down.

"Such a big dragon, even its bones should yield at least a stack, right?"

Besides the Doomsday Beast's skeleton, he also had his eyes on the glittering core in its chest. He wondered what an anti-matter core could be converted into.

If it converted into Netherite Ingots, he'd be rich.

The Doomsday Beast roared unwillingly, wanting to attack Fu Zhu and the others standing right before it. But with its hands and head firmly pinned by the blocks, and even its tail fixed in place, it could only lie there helplessly, watching as Fu Zhu and the others swung their weapons down upon it.

Among them, Fu Zhu and Xing were hitting it most enthusiastically. They even felt that attacking with just weapons wasn't enough and started kicking the Doomsday Beast repeatedly. However, after two or three kicks, they obediently went back to beating it with their weapons.

March 7th, providing support from the rear, watched Fu Zhu and Xing laughing while beating the Doomsday Beast. She couldn't help but shiver and shrink behind Himeko.

"Big Sis Himeko, why does it feel like we're the villains?"

Himeko chuckled awkwardly, scratching the side of her face, momentarily unsure how to answer March 7th.

Finally, Fu Zhu plunged his sword into the Doomsday Beast's head, completely emptying its health bar. The Doomsday Beast's body stiffened, then moved no more.

Instantly, a massive amount of experience orbs erupted from the Doomsday Beast's body and drilled into Fu Zhu. Xing and the others saw this, somewhat stunned.

What were those small, faintly green glowing orbs? Why did they go straight into Fu Zhu?

"Finally settled."

Fu Zhu exhaled. The Herta Space Station should be completely safe now. He could finally focus on developing himself in peace.

When he turned around, he found everyone staring at him strangely.

"What's wrong? Is there something on me?"

March 7th pointed at some experience orbs near Fu Zhu's feet that hadn't yet merged into his body.

"What are these little points of light?"

Fu Zhu raised an eyebrow, surprised they could see them too.

Just as he was hesitating about how to explain, Himeko stepped forward to smooth things over. "Everyone has their own little secrets. If you don't want to say, we won't ask. Now that the Doomsday Beast is dealt with, how about everyone returns to the Master Control Zone to rest?"

Fu Zhu gave Himeko a grateful look, but he still declined her suggestion.

"I won't go just yet. This is the first time I've seen a Doomsday Beast. I want to study it a bit."

Especially that anti-matter core in its chest!
