Chapter 16: Chapter 16: Prerequisites for Creative Mode
Seeing so many buff effects, Fu Zhu couldn't help but swallow hard. The Trailblaze Path was being way too generous!
You had to understand, in a Minecraft modpack, getting this many practical buffs would typically require mid-to-late game equipment. But look at him now! All he had was a broken sword from the Curio Collection Room, and he hadn't even crafted a leather armor set yet.
Just the infinite duration Saturation effect alone meant he wouldn't need to eat anymore in the future, not to mention the Fire Resistance buff, which conceptually granted him immunity to fire.
Joining the Astral Express was truly the right choice!
While Fu Zhu was still rejoicing over the buffs he'd obtained, Pom-Pom was curiously looking him up and down.
"Hm? Conductor, is something wrong with me?" Fu Zhu sensed Pom-Pom's gaze and asked curiously.
Pom-Pom studied Fu Zhu, clicking its tongue in amazement. "I didn't expect Passenger Fu Zhu's aptitude for the Trailblaze Path to be so pure, pa! To actually attract such a vast fragment of the Trailblaze Path to yourself. If that fellow Akivili were still around, perhaps he would have happily patted your shoulder and made you an Emanator of Trailblaze, pa."
"Akivili? Is that the Aeon of Trailblaze? Where did they go?"
Pom-Pom's expression suddenly darkened, and it shook its head. "They are no longer here, pa."
Seeing Pom-Pom's expression, Fu Zhu knew he had misspoken. It was clear Pom-Pom had a very close relationship with Akivili.
"Sorry."
"No need to apologize, pa." Pom-Pom quickly smiled again, reaching out to pat Fu Zhu's thigh. "Even though Akivili is gone, the Trailblaze will always continue, pa."
"Yeah." Fu Zhu then asked another curious question. "Conductor, if I want to obtain more Trailblaze Power, what should I do?"
Since the System indicated the Trailblaze Power was Level 1, it implied there were subsequent levels. Just like his other Path powers, if he could figure out how to upgrade one Path power, he could replicate the method to upgrade all the Path powers he possessed.
By then, once all his Path powers reached their peak, they would be comparable to the buffs added via commands in Creative Mode.
Pom-Pom was quite pleased with this ambitious newly joined Nameless. "To become stronger, you just need to walk far enough on the path of Trailblaze, embody the ideals of Trailblaze, explore all unknowns, and those free-floating fragments of the Trailblaze Path scattered across the universe will naturally find you, pa."
Pom-Pom seemed to recall something else and couldn't help asking Fu Zhu, "Passenger Fu Zhu, I heard you came from a planet called Earth, just like Passenger Welt? Are you still completely unfamiliar with this universe, pa?"
Fu Zhu nodded, but still clarified that he and Welt came from two different Earths.
"Mm, perhaps this is a good thing for you, pa. Everything in this universe is unknown to you. As long as you keep walking forward, getting stronger is inevitable, pa!"
"I see, thank you for clearing up my doubts, Conductor."
"You're welcome, pa. Let me show you to your room first."
Pom-Pom led Fu Zhu through the observation car to the passenger cabin car, pointing to two empty rooms. "You can choose either of these two rooms. There are also spare bed frames, bedding, and some daily necessities in the storage."
"Okay, I'll take this one then."
Fu Zhu randomly chose the middle empty room. Seeing Fu Zhu had made his choice, Pom-Pom nodded and left first; it needed to prepare for the Express's next warp jump.
Fu Zhu pushed the door open and glanced inside his room. Although there wasn't much dust, it was completely bare, devoid of any decorations or furnishings, save for a table and a bed frame without a mattress.
Fu Zhu looked at the empty bed frame, seemingly lost in thought. This was a good opportunity to confirm which game mode he was in.
Fu Zhu walked up and punched the bed frame bare-handed, breaking it directly into a dropped item, which he then picked up into his inventory.
[Bed Frame]
[Currently Convertible: Bed]
After converting the bed frame into a single MC Bed, Fu Zhu placed it back in its original position and reached out to touch it.
The expected prompt for setting a respawn point didn't appear.
"It really is Hardcore Mode..."
Fu Zhu recalled some of his previous actions on the space station and couldn't help but take a sharp breath. Thankfully, he had been cautious at the time and hadn't acted recklessly just because he had Steve's identity. If he had died again, it would have been permanent death.
However, Fu Zhu still felt a bit unwilling. He tried to bring up the system interface and input the command to switch to Survival Mode.
[Command Missing. Current Level of Abundance Power is insufficient.]
"Hm?"
Fu Zhu's eyebrows rose slightly. Although the command failed, judging by the system prompt, things weren't entirely set in stone.
As long as he raised the level of his Abundance Power sufficiently, he could switch back to Survival Mode. Didn't that mean other game modes could also be switched to?
Fu Zhu tried switching himself to Spectator Mode. The moment the command was entered, sure enough, the system prompt popped up again.
[Command Missing. Current Level of Remembrance Power is insufficient.]
"Then, what about Creative?"
[Command Missing. Current Power of the Paths is incomplete.]
Now it changed to 'Power of the Paths is incomplete'?
Fu Zhu stared at the system prompt, deep in thought. The previous modes only indicated insufficient levels of a single Path. Did this mean that Creative Mode required him to collect multiple Path powers to unlock?
Although it sounded difficult, it seemed appropriate given the immense value of Creative Mode. After all, activating Creative Mode truly meant becoming invincible.
Even though he couldn't activate Creative or Survival Mode, Fu Zhu didn't lose heart. Besides switching modes, he still had the invincible path of mods to walk.
Speaking of mods, Fu Zhu couldn't resist opening his Mod Shop to take a look. He currently had 16 Achievement Points, enough to buy some small mods.
"JEI item management mod, Vein Miner, Minimap... hsss, what other practical mods were there?"
Fu Zhu scratched the back of his head, realizing he couldn't recall any other suitable small mods for early-game progression for a moment, perhaps because he hadn't played in too long.
After much deliberation, Fu Zhu decided it was best to buy a Vein Miner mod first. Although the JEI mod could show him the recipes for many items, the things he currently possessed were all basic items whose recipes he already knew. He didn't need JEI for now. It was better to use Vein Miner to gather more ores.
"Vein Miner mod, purchase!"
[10 Achievement Points consumed.]
[Vein Miner MOD installed.]
