There's definitely something wrong with this murder mystery game
Chapter 501: As Long As It Can Support
It was just after the female white-collar worker had moved to the corner of the wall that a sneaky figure emerged from the side path in the backyard.
Despite his towering stature, each of his movements was filled with childlike caution; he walked while constantly looking around as if guarding against something.
When his face turned out of the shadow and fixed on the female white-collar worker watching from across the way, his eyes suddenly widened.
It was the police assistant who had been missing until now!
The tall and burly police assistant crouched and hustled past the bushes, sneaking around to the back gate, then reached out to knock on the red trash can on the left.
"No one."
After a while, the trash can still did not respond.
The police assistant shook the trash can and raised his voice, "That dumbass director isn't here, he's up front fighting with Yueshu right now, come out quick!"
Hearing this, the white-collar woman hiding in the corner couldn't help but turn her head and glance at the "dumbass director" next to her.
Xu Shuo's face still held a faint smile, his body leaned lazily against the wall, serenely watching the man shaking the trash can.
David, who was possessing the police assistant, kept shaking the can until finally, a head popped out.
It was Lily, possessing the photographer, and she snapped irritably, "Yueshu told us not to make any rash moves. What are you doing running over here, you moron?"
David, upon hearing this, froze for a moment, then defiantly said, "I made sure there was no danger before I came out, and if we don't take the opportunity to leave now, what do we do if the orphanage has an accident later!"
"Idiot! Get lost!"
Lily cursed, and then her head retracted back into the can.
Though Lily had a fiery temperament and yearned to beat up that stupid director right away, at this juncture, she knew restraint was necessary.
She definitely couldn't beat that person, so the only option was to avoid stirring up trouble.
Seeing this, David hurriedly shook the trash can again, "Hey, if you're not leaving, then stay. Let Marco out, I'll leave with Marco."
He shook the trash can so hard it rattled, and Lily's head, frustrated, emerged again, along with another little boy possessing the male social worker.
Marco scratched his head and said, "Well, David, since Yueshu told us to stay put, let's just stay for now."
"He tells us to wait without clarifying what's going on; I think now is a good opportunity to leave," David continued. "He didn't even want us to wait for him before, and staying here, we can't help anyway."
"Sounds about right..." Marco seemed somewhat persuaded.
They didn't understand what Time Retrospection was, only knowing they had followed Yueshu's orders and run far away, only to find themselves back at the orphanage in the blink of an eye.
But subconsciously, they felt it must be the director's doing, so they weren't particularly surprised by it.
After all, outwitting the director had become the norm for the kids.
Only this time, the stakes were higher!
Because they had actually escaped the orphanage!
"Let's go, let's go!"
David encouraged happily.
Seeing that Marco seemed really about to leave, Lily clubbed him on the head!
Then she angrily rebuked, "Are you listening to what that underdeveloped brain of his says! If Yueshu wants us to stay, there must be a reason; what if he really needs our help and we run away? Beware Yueshu gets angry!"
Hearing her dead-serious tone, Marco started to hesitate again.
...
The three kids huddled by the trash can, bickering incessantly.
Meanwhile, under the wall of the Qiming Building, two others gathered every word of their argument into their ears.
The female white-collar worker was eavesdropping while continuously comforting the doll in her arms, hoping it wouldn't take any rash action.
Even though the little girl had stayed behind in the cafeteria and hadn't followed, as compared to a human form, Emily's real identity could very well be this doll.
And while in the cafeteria, the white-collar woman vaguely remembered that Yueshu apparently had given Emily orders as well.
Otherwise, Emily wouldn't have suddenly brought her here.
Now, seeing the monsters that had taken over others' bodies in the backyard, the white-collar woman shuddered, fearing the doll would also invade her body.
Yet on the other hand, she felt that Emily's attachment to her probably wouldn't do that, but what Emily might do otherwise was uncertain.
The white-collar woman patted the doll's head and looked toward the youngster beside her, signalling with her eyes.
Xu Shuo glanced at her, then nodded.
The next moment, the red trash can on the other side inexplicably flew up!
It then hovered in mid-air, frantically shaking upside down and, in an instant, violently dumped out the two kids hiding inside!
The white-collar woman watched him, dumbstruck!
Xu Shuo innocently said, "Okay, I've gotten the people out for you; what else do you want to do?"
The white-collar woman: "???" No... Wasn't my glance just now asking you what you're going to do? After all, it's you who wants to stay hidden here, but why has it suddenly turned into what I'm supposed to do??
The white-collar woman's face was full of question marks, and her puzzled expression was undisguised.
The two kids who had just fallen to the ground were also full of question marks.
Although they were hiding in the trash can, they weren't really inside it; it seemed logic dictated that since they didn't come out on their own, no one should have been able to drag them out.
But just now, the trash can had flown up and dumped them out?
Marco rubbed his head and said, "What's up with the trash can; did it mistake us for something else and spit us out?"
Lily, sprawled on the ground, got up in a fury and glared at the trash can, shouting, "Bring that thing down to me!"
