There is something wrong with Hikigaya’s classroom of the Elite, as expected

Chapter 25

Chapter 25: Posture Score

The small incident between Hachiman and Horikita didn’t attract anyone’s attention, or rather, everyone’s focus was almost entirely on Kushida. Who had the energy to pay attention to two outcasts who were being excluded by the class?

The swimming class’s physical education teacher was a muscular uncle, with a broad back and strong muscles, immediately drawing exclamations of surprise from the students!

Everyone could feel the explosive power contained in every muscle on this muscular uncle’s body. These were real muscles, not the kind that can be built through protein powders and steroids!

The muscular uncle laughed proudly, “You’re the class that supports me the most out of all the classes! But it’s a pity that your class has the most students ‘observing,’ though.”

The physical education teacher didn’t mind the fact that one-third of the class was just ‘observing’ and proceeded to start the class.

“Don’t worry, I’ll make sure to teach you how to swim before summer!” the muscular uncle patted his chest and assured them.

However, after a week of adjustment, most of the students in Class D had already gotten used to ‘ignoring’ the teacher’s presence. The muscular uncle’s words didn’t attract much attention, and many students were only concerned with relaxing, casually going through the motions, and admiring the girls’ swimsuits, not really caring about “learning to swim.”

The muscular uncle furrowed his brows when he noticed the students’ indifference. “Learning to swim is really important! Even if you don’t know anything yet, that’s fine. I’ll make sure to teach you all. This skill will definitely come in handy in the future!”

Afterward, under the muscular uncle’s instructions, Class D began their warm-up and proceeded to a simple back-and-forth swimming practice.

“That’s a little strange…” Hachiman stroked his chin. This swimming class teacher seemed different from the previous teachers.

Normally, this swimming class would end up being a fun and easy class where students would fool around in the pool, look at girls’ swimsuits, and have a good time. After all, the previous PE classes were like that—everyone did their own thing during the “free practice” sessions, like slacking off, sleeping, playing on their phones, or chatting.

But the muscular uncle wasn’t like other teachers who indulged the students’ behaviors. On the contrary, there was a subtle sense of enforced proactivity, though it was presented in a very understated way, and his words seemed to have some deeper meaning.

What did he mean by “I’ll teach you to swim before summer”? And the follow-up comment seemed to hint at something?

Normally, school swimming classes would begin in mid-June, and although this school was equipped with a high-standard competitive indoor pool, it was only mid-April now, and the school had just started a week ago, so starting swimming lessons this early seemed a bit too soon, didn’t it?

Also, Hachiman remembered the class schedule from the first semester. There was a swimming class every week until the last week of summer vacation in July. According to the muscular uncle, there would indeed be enough time to teach even the most unskilled swimmer to swim before summer.

After another 50-meter swimming practice.

“Not bad, not bad, most of you did quite well!” the muscular uncle clapped his hands and expressed satisfaction.

“Haha, that was easy!” When Ike climbed out of the pool, he laughed triumphantly and bragged to everyone around him, “Butterfly stroke is my strong suit. In middle school, they called me the agile flying fish, the little Phelps!”

Normally, Ike’s boasting wouldn’t have been a big deal, but his partner, Yamauchi, immediately became displeased. He had a competitive spirit that wouldn’t allow Ike to surpass him, so he quickly shouted, “Is the flying fish really that great? I’ve been in the pool since I was a kid and was called the big shark!”

Yamauchi thought “big shark” wasn’t intimidating enough, so he also called himself the “water giant bear” and claimed that his self-created technique called “giant bear charge” had won him swimming competition titles during middle school.

Then Yamauchi got more and more excited and jumped into the pool to proudly demonstrate his signature move. But the so-called “giant bear charge” was just a dog paddle!

“This so-called competition must have been scored based on the posture, right? That’s definitely a perfect score for posture!” Hachiman couldn’t help but complain helplessly.

Chuckle!

Suddenly, a surprising laugh came from the second-floor stands. It was actually the socially anxious Ostrich Girl… Sakura.

Upon noticing Hachiman’s gaze, Sakura froze like she had seen something terrifying, then immediately squatted down to hide.

Hachiman: “……”

Am I really that scary? (Sad)

But the muscular uncle laughed heartily, thinking that Yamauchi and Ike were just playing around, and he found it amusing. “In that case, let’s have an exciting 50-meter freestyle competition!”

Many students who were about to slack off started complaining, but the PE teacher paused for a moment and said, “How about this? I’ll give 5,000 personal points to the winner, and the student who comes last will have to prepare for make-up lessons!”

Upon hearing this, Hachiman squinted his eyes, both surprised and confused. Was the 5,000 personal points reward something the PE teacher came up with on the spot? Or was it part of a set program?

If it was the former, it was getting interesting.

Of course, Hachiman himself was very tempted by the 5,000 personal points, but unfortunately, his athletic ability was only average. In the final race, the finalists were Koenji, Sudo, and Hirata. Ike, the little Phelps, and Yamauchi, the big shark, had already been eliminated.

As expected, there were no surprises—Koenji, the muscular blonde, easily won first place. His physique was far beyond what a high school student should possess.

On the other hand, the much-anticipated Hirata, the star, ended up in third place. Everyone thought that his popularity would take a serious hit, but when they saw the girls coming up to comfort Hirata, including Sudo, who took second place, most of the boys fell silent and their excitement disappeared.

Compared to the boys’ race, the real highlight was the girls’ competition. Ike and Yamauchi, the silly duo, had their eyes wide open, like they had turned on some strange radar, staring at the girls in the pool, afraid of missing every single frame.

Other boys were the same. Even Hachiman himself couldn’t avoid being a little cliché at times.

In the end, the first place went to a swimming club girl named Onodera, and the second place surprisingly went to Horikita. But the boys’ attention wasn’t on the rankings. Instead, they were focused on another girl who came fourth.

“Wow~~ so fierce!”
“Kushida, little angel, go for it! You’re the best!”
“Little Kushida, I’ll always support you, don’t be discouraged!”

Kushida turned around and smiled at the boys, purposely giving them a cute wink, instantly winning over a bunch of loyal fans.

History, indeed, repeats itself!
