There is no happy ending

CHAPTER : 4.5

There is no resemblance between Bianca’s sharply drawn, blood-red lips and Odette’s pale lips in a slight smile.

Therefore, Bliss has never for a moment thought Bianca is beautiful. But for every moment, Odette must have thought her beautiful.

She thought she was beautiful and pathetic and lovely.

Bianca looked slowly into Bliss’s and Odette’s eyes, one after the other, then lifted the teacup still in her hand and slammed it down on the table.

There was an eerie shattering sound. The remaining tea and shards scattered.

‘Boom!’

The scream that followed made Bliss scramble to her feet and scoop Odette into her arms. Odette didn’t resist but obediently leaned her head into Bliss’s arms.

It was a ridiculous sight. Odette Halona puffed herself up for nothing. Bliss Winston, who pretends to be the smartest man in the world but can’t keep a contract, is ridiculous, as is this relationship, as is their love.

But the funniest thing is Bianca. Indeed, Bianca is the most wounded person in the room.

She broke the teacup with her hand.

Her hands were numb from the overflow of hot tea.

Bianca’s hand was cut by the shattered teacup with a small burn.

Bianca was the owner of the blood that mixed with the tea and ran down the table, but no one paid attention to her wounds. Not even Bianca herself.

‘Don’t fuss, I didn’t break it over your head.’

Bianca said, waving her hand to brush the tea off her hand. Bliss, however, paid no heed to Bianca’s hand and shouted at her.

‘What do you think you’re doing? What if she got hurt?’

‘Is it any of my business?’

Bianca clenched her fists. Her nails dug into her scarred hand. One of Bianca’s eyes narrowed at the pain. Her hand flinched reflexively, but…….

‘No, I was startled. Don’t do that to her, Bliss.’

‘Odette…….’

Odette repeated over and over again, her face was mask of frustration. ‘That’ Bliss is swayed by the words of a common woman who had nothing.

To Bianca, it was a very foreign sensation, both exhilarating and miserable.

Perhaps Bianca hoped that Bliss would recognize her injured hand. But Bliss didn’t recognize it. Bianca clenched and unclenched her fist.

To Bliss and Odette, what Bianca smashed would have been a teacup, but not to Bianca.

It was a gift of her choosing.

No, it’s a relationship that Bianca and Bliss have been building for six years.

And…… is Bianca Moening’s belated realization.

Bianca’s fist tightened. Her manicured nails dug into the shallow gash.

The wound widened. The blood speed up. Bianca’s clenched mouth made a clicking sound. Bianca’s breathing became ragged.

Oh, what could be so ridiculous, so cruel, so…… infuriating?

‘You.’

Chewing on her lower lip, Bianca spat it out. The edge of her voice rose grotesquely. Bianca knew now that when she got too angry, her hair would turn white.

‘How could you do this to me, Bliss Winston!’

Through gritted teeth, Bianca screamed again. It was a scream, a sob, a cry. It was more of a scream.

‘What?’

‘Six years! Six years I’ve given to our relationship, and you, you do this to me? You humiliate me, disgrace me, because of a commoner who can’t even compare to me?’

But in Bliss’s eyes, Bianca’s behavior was nothing but venomous spite.

Therefore, Bliss, to prevent Odette in his arms from hearing more of Bianca’s screams, covered Odette’s ears and spoke cruelly to her.

‘Don’t be a child, Bianca.’

‘……what?’

‘You’re acting like I’ve betrayed you, and I have to ask, what is it that I haven’t done for you?’

‘…….’

‘What have I failed to do for you that you keep crossing the line, that you can’t control your greed?’

Bianca made three attempts at a relationship with Bliss.

First, she asked him for the truth, then she tried to hurt him with anger, and finally she screamed at him.

But none of these things resonated with Bliss. …….

Still, Bliss stares at Bianca with withered eyes, and her words pierce Bianca’s heart.

She wants to believe that she’s never done anything stupid in her life…… that she’s smart, that she’s picked and chosen only the right and good options, that she’s made the perfect choices, and that she’s achieved the perfect outcome.

But look at Bianca, the choices she’s made, the choices she’s made so far, and what’s the result?

Six years of betrayal, a torn heart, and a lonely place.

‘Leave your filthy greed behind.’

Once again, Bliss’s cruel words pierced Bianca’s heart.

Bianca’s ambition was called filthy greed.

With those words, everything became clear. What Bliss Winston had chosen was not a contract or a trust, but a simple love.

Bliss Winston had dumped Bianca Moening in favor of Odette Halona.

Bliss may not have meant it, but it happened.

‘It’s called dirty greed…….’

‘Yeah, dirty greed.’

Bliss drove the wedge.

Bianca was slow to realize it, but she loved Bliss and probably had for quite some time.

She loved Bliss Winston’s brilliant blonde hair and hazel eyes that changed color in the light. Sometimes, when Bliss called her, ‘Bianca,’ as if he was calling something lovely in public, she seemed to get excited, even though she knew it was a contract.

But Bianca wanted to throw it all away now. She wanted to destroy Bliss, Odette, and everything else that filled this room.

She wanted to wipe out the last six years.
