There is no happy ending

CHAPTER: 4.3

But Bliss did not know Bianca’s patience, and a stern voice interrupted her.

‘Don’t call her that. It’s not her name.’

Turning to face the face staring back at her, Bianca was stunned.

The anger she’d somehow managed to suppress for Odette’s sake. But the eyes look at her as if they could drive her away in an instant, and if she could, …… would tear her apart. And just like that, her eyes glow.

Sadly, Bianca looks into those eyes and realizes again.

Ah, how I loved you. I loved Bliss Winston, and that is why it was so satisfying to be by your side.

Bianca wondered in vain if she had realized it sooner if things would have been different. The future can be calculated, but the past can only be judged, not calculated.

Therefore, it is futile.

In any case, their relationship was not over yet. It was clear that Bliss wanted to end the relationship, judging by her fed-up expression. But even if Bliss wanted to end it, Bianca would be all over it.

Bliss was the one who ruined this relationship, so it was up to Bianca to end it.

‘On whose terms?’

Bliss hadn’t put any weight on Bianca. No one takes a relationship seriously if it doesn’t have weight. This relationship wouldn’t last.

Would Bliss, now that he had fallen in love, ever weigh her again?

Bianca thought not because even if he did, it would always change again when new love came along.

So, let’s just scrap it. It’s already a foregone conclusion that I can’t have you, so let’s scratch your insides somehow. Let me hurt you as much as I hurt myself.

‘This “Im” asking questions, a mere commoner.’

Bliss hurt Bianca without knowing anything about her.

Bianca knows Bliss very well, and she can hurt him. All she had to do was ignore what he valued, trample on it, and bring out the things he hid and buried.

‘I don’t care how much of a Winston you are, I’m Moening, and you can’t order me around and I don’t listen to you.’

‘…….’

‘And I don’t have to listen to you because of that damned woman you’re holding like she’s precious.’

There was a certain amount of hierarchy among the nobility, but when you got to the higher-ups, like Bliss and Bianca, it was as good as none.

After all, the Moenings, though marquesses, were publicly recognized as such, and were treated in effect as dukes. Although Bliss was a royal bloodline, it was a similarly prestigious family……. There could be no inferiority among such families.

Bianca laughed like a child with a frog in her hand that could do nothing. Bianca had given up on getting her hopes up for Bliss.

Still, it was up to Bianca to let go of the frog in her hands or beat it to the ground. It’s the only way she’ll be able to build her lost shred of pride.

She glared at them both. Then she pointed her index finger at Odette’s face and asked.

‘Don’t you think you have very bad taste?’

‘……you.’

‘She looks exactly like Eugene.’

If Bianca’s life was a romance, and if this was a scene from a romance, she thought…… she would be the villain.

After all, romance is when a woman who has nothing is rescued from her lowly life by love.

A woman with a lot of money could never be a romance heroine because people hate that. People don’t like that, so a woman like Bianca is usually clinging to a man and being abandoned. People find it cathartic.

But Bianca is not good at hanging on. Nor does she want to act that way.

Moreover, it’s almost a formula for the villain to say mean things to the hero and hurt the heroine to tear the loving couple apart. It’s exactly what I’m trying to do now.

Bliss is never driven by her own emotions. Bianca’s feelings are worth nothing to Bliss, so what she has at her disposal is a knife.

A well-honed knife was in Bianca’s mouth.

A stifled giggle filled the parlor. An unfamiliar name leaped between them.

Odette stiffened, not knowing who it belonged to. Bianca’s name did not affect Odette, but it worked wonders on Bliss. Bliss’s jaw tightened at the name Eugene.

Bianca saw the look on his face and pulled the teacup on the table towards her. I’ve never been one to put my mouth to a cup that someone might have been drinking from; I just need to touch something to calm myself.

Bianca poured the tea that was still in the cup onto the floor and spoke.

‘I… expected your tastes to have deteriorated, but it’s funny to see it so blatantly. Don’t you think so, Miss Odette?’

‘What……? That…….?’

‘It’s so obvious that Bliss has a taste for puppets… paper dolls who obey her orders.’

‘Shut the fuck up!’

Bliss snapped, unable to stop Bianca from scratching at her flesh.

She wanted it that way, wanted Bliss to be angry somehow. Bianca had her way. Bianca bared her teeth and smiled. The sight of it made Bliss angrier.

Bliss Winston, who will never love me. Since I can’t have your love, I’ll have to have your hate. Somehow, some way, I must break your heart and abandon you.

I must have some dignity, or I cannot bear this heartbreak.

Bianca said her name again.

‘The Countess of Ordowell gave me bad taste…….’

I shake my head and scoff. Bliss, Odette, this situation, and the past. Then Bliss lets go of Odette’s hand and jumps to her feet.

‘Bianca Moening!’

‘Don’t call my name!’

At the same time, Bianca threw the empty glass she was holding. She didn’t mean to, but the glass landed near Odette and shattered. Odette screamed, startled out of her skin. It was as if Bianca had picked up the teacup and thrown it near her.

Bliss’s eyes grew even more vicious as she flailed about as if she were going to faint at any moment. A sucking sound came from Bliss’s teeth.

Bianca’s shoulders rose and fell in a slow, steadying breath, and she jerked her head from side to side to break the stiffness in her neck, then lifted her head to glare at Bliss.

‘Sit down.’

‘That’s not a name that belongs in your mouth. How dare you take her name in your mouth?’

‘Neither does my name.’

‘…….’

‘Sit down, Bliss Winston. It’s one thing to make a man look ridiculous, but now you’re making me look like an idiot in front of the commoners?’

Bianca crossed her legs as she said it. Her eyes were still sharp as she looked at Bliss.

If you knew Bianca, you could see love in her gaze. It’s not hate, but affection that laces Bianca’s green eyes.

Unfortunately, love was often mistaken for other emotions because it came in different shapes. Even now.

Just a little impurity mixed in, and it looked different. Bianca’s love had too many impurities.

Bliss and Odette, who couldn’t feel Bianca’s gaze above all else, knew nothing of her, and that made it all the more so.

‘I am Moening, the Moening, and no one else.’

‘Get out, Bianca.’

‘I am a direct descendant of the first Marquess of Moening, who opened the Moening of Falborn, and one of the bluest bloods in the kingdom. I deserve better than anyone else, and I have no reason to put up with this humiliation, so…… you should have valued me, not some lowly commoner!’

‘Get out of my mansion now!’

A dialogue ensued in which neither of them listened to the other. A dialogue, if you can call it that.

Bianca’s face flushed red at the insult. She had never been insulted like this before in her life, and not by anyone else, but by a commoner who she didn’t even consider a human.

This could not have been done without some sort of disrespect for her.

Had this ever happened to Bianca before in her life? No. She hadn’t, and she hadn’t prepared for it.

Maybe she’d had that faith, that no matter what woman came along, she’d been used to Bliss. That he would choose her.

And then she was proven wrong again.

It’s a harsh winter. Why are Bliss Winston’s eyes cold at this moment, why is he holding on to Odette Halona alone?

I know why. It’s because he loves her so much.

But now that I think of it, I can’t help but ask.

What about me?

Bliss Winston doesn’t love Bianca; not only that, he doesn’t respect her.

‘She’s the one who should leave! This is my space, my touch, my space!’

The drawing room where the three of them now sit was originally decorated to the taste of the former Duchess of Winston.

From the wallpaper to the interior decor, the chairs to the curtains, it was all a gift for Bianca. To my taste, to the way I like it.

There’s not a single detail in the place that hasn’t been touched by Bianca. …….

Even the teapot Bliss and Odette were using was a gift from Bianca herself.

From among the kingdom’s most renowned artisans, she chose those who would best suit Bliss’s taste. And so it was that the room was filled with things that had been created by Bianca’s hand.

They can’t kick her out like this. It’s not her that needs to go. Bliss couldn’t do this.

The pain in her chest, the cold rage that made her head spin, and the emptiness of her heart plagued her relentlessly.

And then, snap, snap.

‘You did this because you wanted to, I never asked you to.’

Bliss’s words snapped something taut. It was something that Bianca had barely managed to hold on to, something that had been torn apart so many times by Bliss’s words.

It was Bianca’s sanity, it was her reason, it was Bliss and Bianca’s relationship,

It was Bianca’s love.

Bianca was disappointed. Bianca’s laughter was almost self-help. Ever since she’d heard the rumors about Bliss from Eris, Bianca had been laughing to herself.

She laughed at herself for being in love and not realizing it until now. Funny that she’d given Bliss her heart, but hadn’t been able to win it.

I’d always thought I was Bliss’s number one priority, only to find out that I wasn’t. And yet, somehow, some way, I still wanted to be with Bliss.

It was a crazy thought.

‘Does my love mean anything to Bliss Winston?

Bianca’s love is worth nothing to Bliss. Give it to him and he’ll throw it in the bin.

‘Do I, Bliss Winston, mean anything to you?

If Bianca confesses her love, even now, will Bliss tell her he loves her, or will he say yes?
