The Divine Descent, Year 70, the people of the Black Sand Continent would never forget this year.
At the beginning of this year, Saintess Ling fell into eternal slumber in the morning sun. Her bones transformed into a stone slab and a sword embedded in stone. According to the priests of the Temple of Light, the slab was a divine stone that connected the gods, a wordless celestial scripture. The sword in the stone was the Sword of Light, bestowed upon mortals by the gods, and only the destined hero could pull it out.

与人类相比,他们的手更灵巧,他们的肉体更强壮,力量也非常巨大.启蒙后,他们称自己为大自然的工匠.他们开始开凿冰山,形成社区并在社会上迅速发展.

Gradually, more longfish noticed the changes and swam to the surface, inspecting their altered forms. They were startled to find that their upper bodies resembled those of the humanoid beings on the islands. They recalled that these beings had once called themselves "humans." 
With the upper bodies of humans and the lower bodies of fish, they were now, indeed, "merfolk."
The blood rain did not just affect the Black Sand Continent, the Extreme South, and the Prosperous Isles; it also fell on the Unknown Continent to the east of the Black Sand Continent. This continent, second in size only to the Black Sand Continent, remained largely unexplored due to its remoteness. The land was covered in dense forests, inhabited by various beasts that formed a balanced food chain.
But after the blood rain, the ecosystem would surely be thrown into chaos. Many beasts suddenly stood upright, like humans. Some transformed into humanoid forms with long ears, and they began to sing in the forests as if they were born artists. Others grew to enormous sizes, their temperaments drastically changing. The changes among the beasts pulled this peaceful land, which had remained undisturbed for eons, into the quagmire of war.
The blood rain transformed the entire boxed world, heralding the dawn of a new age of transcendence. According to the annals of the Temple of Light, the Divine Descent, Year 70, was marked by the falling of the blood rain, granting some humans immense strength, making them powerful beyond measure. The priests of the Temple of Light referred to those who awakened this power as "Divine Blooded." They were chosen by the Temple to serve as guardians of the gods.
Another group of followers of the Light developed a mysterious ability, capable of summoning deadly beams of light that could bring others to the brink of death or sear their enemies. They called this power "Divine Magic."
However, the appearance of these two powers did not stabilize the rule of the Temple of Light; instead, it increased the turmoil. This was because no one had yet emerged to succeed Saintess Ling. 
According to Saintess Ling's last words, only those who had seen the gods could become the next Saint (or Saint Child).
In Year 77 of the Divine Descent, the Divine Blooded and the priests subtly split into two factions, each aligning with one side. 
In Year 80 of the Divine Descent, the situation in the Kingdom of Xiya finally collapsed. The leader of the Divine Blooded led a coup and declared himself king. The Divine Blooded army advanced toward the Temple of Light, forcing the priests of the Light to step down from their divine positions.
Inside the temple, the elderly priest, his eyes filled with fury, pointed at the leader of the Divine Blooded and shook with rage:

"Have you lost your mind? The first saint once said that under the gods, all are equal. You would dare declare yourself king, defying the gods!"

The young leader of the Divine Blooded grinned, filled with ambition:

"Indeed, under the gods, all are equal. But the first to ignite the spark is no longer a monkey, but a human. The first to possess divine blood is no longer a mere mortal, but one who stands above all others! We are no longer human; we are above all!"

In Year 80 of the Divine Descent, the Temple of Light fell, and the Kingdom of Xiya was renamed the Xiya Empire.
