On Beverly Boulevard, Jamie Spears pulled his car into his daughter's estate.

As he exited, he contemplated getting special guardianship over Britney, ensuring the mansion would be transferred to his name.

Entering the living room, Jamie called, "Britney?" The silence met him, "Out shopping?"

Sitting on the couch, he noticed the kettle was also missing and smirked; he anticipated another scandalous headline about Britney breaking down tomorrow.

Content, he lounged for a moment until flashing police lights and a doorbell interrupted him. Jamie felt gleeful, believing Britney had already caused trouble. She was indeed a stupid daughter.

Jamie hurried over to open the door and saw that the person leading the group was a sheriff. He asked, "Britney was taken into custody?"

Milner produced a subpoena and stated, "Mr. Jamie Spears, you're suspected of illegal drug use and attempted poisoning..."

Disbelief washed over Jamie, "What? That's impossible!"

Milner revealed a search warrant, "We have the authority to search you, your vehicle, and your home."

A couple of burly LAPD officers stepped forward, restraining Jamie and patting him down. Two others searched his parked Mercedes with nothing to show. However, one officer found two pill bottles on Jamie.

Seeing Milner have the bottles bagged as evidence, Jamie suddenly realized he might be in trouble. However, he couldn't fathom how his dim-witted daughter could put this together.

The two strongest LAPD officers held Jamie firmly, escorting him into a police car. The trio of squad cars sped towards the Westside station. Jamie hadn't seen Britney and called in a lawyer.

The Westside precinct expedited his treatment, taking fingerprints, drug tests, recordings, and images effectively. Larry Rudolph, Britney's manager, arrived at the police station and whispered to the lawyer for a time.

Shortly, the lawyer came to inform Jamie that his client was Britney; she had issued a statement barring his participation in the case. Jamie realized he would need to find another lawyer.

At 7 PM, the studio at the Fox Television Center buzzed with the emergence of Renee Russell for the 7 o'clock news. That evening's headline promised to stir the nation.

Video footage of Jamie and Manninger first hit the airwaves, followed by the recording and then images of Britney's outburst in Burbank. Britney was at the zenith of her fame; America buzzed with astonishment.

Not only were the crimes against Britney involved, but her biological father was also involved! Although the identity of the other person was not specified in the news, it was soon revealed: Manninger Jenkinson, the deputy director of Fox 11!

Meanwhile, Milner of the Westside precinct, having informed Fox's legal department in advance, led a team to issue a subpoena to Manninger.

Orange County, Alsa Healthcare Nursing Home.

Hawke lounged on a couch with Megan Taylor, watching the news unfold on screen about Manninger and Jamie's conspiracy to control Britney.

Megan leaned against Hawke's shoulder, her legs propped on the coffee table, scrolling through the internet news reports. Time was tight; even Twitter hadn't caught up with the updates yet.

Hawke's phone rang, he grabbed his arm to answer, "It's me."

From the other end, a voice hurriedly said, "Manninger has been detained by the LAPD."

"Got it. Keep an eye on them," he hung up and turned to Megan, "Are your people ready?"

Megan turned, craned her neck, and kissed Hawke softly, "Whispering rumors is a media person's forte; I've been ready."

Hawke asked, "What about Manninger?" Megan replied, "I'll check first."

"He was the financial supervisor at Channel 11 from 1998 to 2000. I was just a junior reporter while Renee was already the anchor," she began.

Hawke understood instantly, "So Renee may have financial issues?"

Megan rephrased, "That's a theory, but I don't have evidence. Most Fox anchors and producers play fast and loose with budget reports, unlike me."

Hawke stated, "My plan is to provoke him into madness; I have experience in that area."

"I can't just let you do everything and sit back and enjoy the fruits of your labor; I need to contribute." As she refreshed Twitter, she exclaimed, "Look!"

Under Britney's tweet, her fierce fanbase flooded the comments,

[You were betrayed by your own father!]

[Britney isn't crazy; she was poisoned by her dad!]

[Demand justice for Britney! We strongly demand that the judicial department severely punish Jamie Spears and Manninger Jenkins!]

As the news broadcast wrapping up, Hawke received another call. After finishing the call, he saw Megan closing her laptop, kneeling before him.

Megan pulled off Hawke's belt, "You don't care about the little money I earn, and you don't care about fame; I'll repay you in my way."

She tied her hair and looked up at Hawke, striking a pose, "Any position, any way; whatever you want."

Hawke quipped, "If you unlock too quickly, it will lose its novelty."

Megan ignored him and lowered her head. Hawke remarked, "The news is out; Britney's notoriety should provide some stock volatility for Fox."
