Chapter 6: Passing Days 1
"How are you feeling?" King asked, as Rune grunted, looking at him. Her form was now a smaller werewolf, not growing that much as King did.
"I'm... Fine." She grunted, grasping King's hand tightly. She grabbed his wrist with her other hand, desperately trying to focus her mind.
"I'm here, don't worry." King said, hugging her from behind. "Don't force yourself to control it. It's not an out of control vehicle, it's your own body. Don't bring it to heel, just guide it."
After the tests lasting month, and the visit from the person that brought nothing but dread to King, he doubled down on training, and continuing the tests. Guided by the woman, he came to the conclusion that it required a bite, and just having his saliva enter a wound is not enough to trigger the changes. Right now, they've concluded several stages of the transformation. Right now, she seemed to be turning for the worst, but King instinctively knew what the problem was. Holding her close, he slowly guided her through her first transformation.
"That's it. Just breathe, let your body tire itself out without you forcing it." King said, as Rune began to dig her claws into him. "It's okay, just breathe."
"Rrrrr." She began to growl, the uncomfortable feeling spreading from her core throughout her whole body. With King being the only thing nearby, she dug her claws even deeper into him, before biting down on his shoulder.
"You're good, it's alright." King patted Rune's back, barely bothered by the bite and claws. Slowly, Rune began to pant, finally running out of steam after hours of her transformation. As she dozed off, King leaned back and sighed, more of relief than tiredness. "Heh... good work kid." King kissed her forehead, getting up while carrying her. Walking out of the basement, Nessa and Jessica were sat at the table, drinking champagne.
"Oh? Is it finally over?" Nessa asked.
"It is... Where's Kayden and Aster?" King asked.
"In the guestroom. Is that why you said you wanted a crib? Because you used to babysit Aster?"
"Only got to watch her a couple days, before I ended up leaving." King sighed. "Seems like a good kid... I'm sure she'll grow up to be amazing..." King said, smiling slightly.
"... What about our kids?" Jessica said, making both Nessa and King snap to her. "I'm not pregnant, though not from lack of trying..." she said, making King stare at her.
"I... I'm a fucking idiot..." He said, groaning.
"We've been taking the pill for a while..." Nessa said, before looking at Jessica. "But you... you just made me think you forgot to take your pills..."
"I'm not that careless..." she replied, pouting. "But... I want to hold my own baby too, one day."
"... With who?" King asked. "Before you two get angry, not once have either of you ever brought up getting together." King said, raising his hand.
Looking at each other, the twins looked surprised. "I... I figured with how we went at it every time, we're basically already a... couple?" Jessica said.
"I mean... should we just make it formal?" Nessa asked.
"... Can we? I mean, we're not exactly on the side of the law..." Jessica said, as King sat at the table. "But... that also means nobody can really complain if we both start 'going out' with Michael, right?"
"... Can we really call it 'going out' with? I mean... we're not really equals in bed." Nessa said, causing both the twins to blush. "... Right... Master?"
"... Fuck." King said, looking away. "... You know, you saying that while I have a kid in my arms, and a kid and her mother in the guest room isn't fair..."
"I mean... You can tuck in Rune, then we can show you our... love."
"Or... if you want more, we could show you why we have those toys downstairs."
"Mph... Head hurt." Rune muttered, lifting her head to rest it on King's shoulder. "... Jaw hurt."
"Well, you did bite kinda hard on my shoulder." King sighed, patting her head. "How are you?"
"... Sleepy... hungry." She looked around the room. "... Food?"
"Sure thing. I'll go get something." King said, putting her in his seat.
Looking at the twins, Rune stared lazily. "... So... kids?" She said, as the two looked at her. "... Can I be the big sister?"
"... What?" Nessa looked confused.
"... Can you adopt me?" Rune said, looking at the two. "I mean, I figured Michael would adopt me anyway, since he did just turn me into a werewolf... But would you two?"
"Would that matter?" King asked, placing a large pile of sandwiches in front of Rune. "If you're my kid, and they do end up marrying me, you'll be their kid also."
"But... that's just gonna make me their step sister, right?" Rune said, looking at him. "I'd rather be their actual sister than just... technically their sister."
"... How would that work? You mentioned you still had parents." King sat down, picking up one of the sandwiches. "Are you sure you want to cut ties?"
"... Does it matter? They taught me a lot, but most of it doesn't matter anymore. They've basically misguided me." Rune said, taking one as well, basically inhaling the sandwich. "... Am I going to be perpetually hungry?"
"Yup... Every day, I ate enough to feed three adults. You're still young, so you'll probably eat far less." King said, messing her hair up.
"... Hey, dad?" Rune said, making the twins chuckle. "... You said I'm misguided... Can... can you show me how you see it?"
King stared at her, before shaking his head, a small grin on his face. "Heh... Sure. Can't say I'll change your mind, but I'll show you how I see things." He grinned.
"... Wait, where's my clothes?" Rune asked, as King stopped.
"... Huh? Wait, where are your clothes? You had them on when you went down into the basement." King started looking around, confusion clear on his face. "You had your cloak when I brought you up... Where are they?"
"... Why did we fall for him again?" Nessa asked, whispering to Jessica.
"One, he helped find Blondi. Two, he's cute when he's like this." Jessica said. "Three... for me, it's how he leaves us after almost every night, yet wanting more."
"Oh yeah, those..." Nessa nodded, watching both Rune and King look around for her clothes.
------
Leaning back, King dodged a swipe from Rune, before several stones flew at him. Taking a quick step to the side, the stones flew by without getting close to him, before he casually swept his leg, knocking Rune off balance. Catching herself quickly, she leapt forward again, using her claws wildly with no reason. Taking in her movements, King grabbed her wrist and jumped backwards, pulling her along as her stones flew from his side again. Crouching into a boxer's stance, he dodged and parried her attacks, while striking the stones as they flew towards him.
After a half hour of blocking, dodging and parrying Rune's attacks, she finally began to run out of steam, her form reverting back to human. Grabbing a cloak, King covered her before picking her up. "You're too quick..." She pouted, leaning on him.
"You'll catch up, soon enough." King chuckled. "So, how're you feeling?"
"Better... still drains me like crazy..." She sighed. "What's your secret? How do you handle being just... perpetually hungry all the time?"
"... I carry a thermos of juice, with enough calories in it to kill a small child... or immediately turn them obese." King said, half joking. "It's made of bananas, coconut, mango, apricot, avocado, some honey, and oats, all blended into one. Not exactly the healthiest, but it does keep me going."
"... We're gonna need to work on that." Rune said, as Nessa and Jessica opened the back door.
"Done? You two were pretty quick there." Nessa said.
"So? Feeling more... in touch, with your wild side?" Jessica joked.
"Har, har..." Rune sighed, jumping off King's arm. "So? From the expert, how was I?"
"Annoying." King said, to their collective surprise. "Not like that. The fact you still had your normal powers even with mine, makes you far harder to pin down. If you improve your control over your stones, you could probably take me in my human form."
"... That doesn't invoke confidence." Rune said.
"... Would you rather I praise you and pretend you could beat me?" King asked, making Rune stare at him.
"... Probably not... Still, wouldn't kill you to put it gently, would it?"
"Probably not..." King shrugged. "Still, better than a false sense of confidence, right?"
"... You're not good with kids, are you?" Rune said.
"Not when I have to talk, at least." King shrugged. "... I just thought of a question..."
"What?"
"Rune? What's your name?" The three looked at him for a moment, before Rune sighed.
"Right... We've been calling her Rune this entire time, haven't we?" Nessa said.
"It's Tammi..." She said, hiding her face. "Tammi Herren."
"... Ah, that explains a bit." King sighed. "Well, not like you can't just change after, right?"
"You don't mind?"
"... I mean, I'm already turning you into a werewolf, I'm in a pretty clear relationship with two 'white supremacists'..." King said, making quote marks. "So... I don't think it really matters anymore..."
"So... It might not be official, since they're still alive, but... what do you think?" Rune asked, looking at King.
"Hm... Tammi King sounds a bit weird..." King said, ruffling her hair. "That, and I'm not that good with kids..."
"We're already living here, so we can help with kids." Nessa said, hugging him from behind.
"Wouldn't say no to some... pups, of our own." Jessica added.
"... I am NOT responsible enough to have kids..." King sighed. "But... I'm all for it, if you are." He looked over at Rune.
"Well... I guess I'm looking forward, Dad." She said, grinning. "Oh, but can I get a soundproof room? I can hear you from the basement."
"... Noted." King sighed, as the twins chuckled. "Well... I guess... welcome to the family, Tammi." King said, as Rune jumped into his arms with a tight hug.
