The Werewolf King's Bride

Chapter 586: Be Nice

(From Demetrius's Perspective)

"He looks so much like King Demetrius. Dion looked the same at this age as well," King Ford said, holding a crying Demian in his arms. Since he picked him up, Demian had been crying nonstop. "Well, you might want to take him, Blue. I guess he hates me."

"If that's the case, he hates me too," I said.

"It's not about hate or anything," Blue said as she took Demian from him. "Demian doesn't like to go to anyone other than me. Doctor Dimitri said some kids are like this. It will take some time for him to go to others."

"I haven't carried my own son more than ten minutes in total since he was born," I said.

"Wow, that's really…," King Ford exclaimed.

"You will make up for it later," Blue said, patting my arm.

King Ford came right after getting the letter to take a look at Demian. It was clear he did not do it just out of his duty as someone who worked with us to defeat Azure and his force of dark mages.

I wished King Ford was not a dark mage so I could read his mind and know what went through that head of his. Sometimes, I wondered if he was in love with Blue. But he did not always seem to be so jealous of me and he did not act possessive at all. Rather, he was nothing but supportive.

I might be wrong about him being in love with her. Maybe, he just saw her as a good friend of his.

Either way, he was very respectful towards Blue. He kept a respectful distance which was a good thing. Blue told me all about how King Ford supported her in my absence by being there for her all the time. I was grateful for it towards him.

More importantly, he delivered our firstborn, which in itself was something I could never be more grateful for.

"So, what do you think, Evan?" Blue asked. "I have told you all about I think, I know and I heard of from Cyan. I want to hear your opinion. Does little boy seem anything but normal to you?"

"Well, if you look at him like that, no. I don't feel anything near him either, which is entirely possible because I am not related to him," he said. "Other dark mages or mages cannot feel anything unusual right away if he even has the kind of power you are talking about. But you can feel it because you are his mother."

"Yeah…"

"And your father can too, because he is related to this child. Cyan can too since he is this child's uncle and moreover, your twin. The connection between you and your twin is massive. So, yeah, it's understandable that he also feels something. As for other mages, I think Azure might have felt it as well, when your son was born. He doesn't need to be near him.

He would feel it nonetheless."

"Blue, the best thing you can do right now is track him down," he added.

"Track who down? Azure? By herself?" I asked, almost angrily.

"No, of course not by herself," he said, shaking his head. "I will be there. So, will you, King Demetrius. And Blue's brother Cyan. And Lord Luc. We will make a plan.

None of us can do it alone. More importantly, we must not do it alone. When we are alone, we are the most vulnerable," he said. "I know you two have two little kids to care about, but I do not think it will be a good thing to delay any longer. Things have gone further since he dared to attack you in your own room. There will be more.

And each attack will stronger than the one before."

He was not wrong. But it also sucked that Blue had to step up. Well, definitely not just Blue since I would never let her do it alone. We all had to step up. And we had two kids. Who would take care of them?

At least, one of us had to stay behind when the other was working. I did not want that to be me. It was not like I would not love to take care of my kids. It was just that I did not want her to do all the work by herself and get herself into danger. We were in this shit together. If she went down, I would rather go down with her than step up to win when she was not around.

Winning had no value when she was not here to share it with me.

"How much time do you have, Evan, that you can spare our new planning?" Blue asked.

Dion was literally crawling on King Ford's lap. Unlike Demian, Dion loved his godfather. Even though he had not seen King Ford in a while, he was still close to him.

"Not enough, I thought. But my wife is rather good at managing the work. So, she will do it for a while," he replied.

Blue narrowed her eyes at him. "Oh, Evan, don't tell me…?"

"It's a political marriage. No petty things involved, so well, yeah, I did it just a bit. But really, just a bit. It's not too much," he said.

"But controlling the mind of your own wife… That's a little…"

"Blue, you cannot be that naïve and rule a kingdom. You gotta do what you gotta do," he shrugged.

"He isn't wrong. Most Royal marriages are like that," I said.

"In fact, I don't know any other Royal couple like you two," he said.

"That's a compliment, isn't it?" Blue muttered suspiciously.

"You have to ask?" King Ford laughed.

"No, judging how you called a loving marriage 'petty things', I am not entirely sure what you mean half the time," she said. "Anyway, we will talk over dinner. I am hungry."

Demian was not crying for a while, which was not a good sign. It meant he would cry as soon as Blue would put him down, or the whole damn night.

Now, Blue's nighttime feeding routine involved her walking with Demian on the balcony or pacing around the room. Demian liked the moon, so if Blue showed him that at night, he would stare at it fondly. He specifically liked round moons.

"It's because he thinks that's boobie," I had pointed out.

Blue did not like my point. She said that that could not be true. However, I did not see how anything else could be true other than that. Demian was little and all he knew in the world were his Mama and her breasts. That was all he cared about.

"Why would he like round moons then only?" I had asked.

"I don't know. You cannot question someone's liking or disliking."

King Ford was showed his room. He was staying as Evan obviously. He had changed his appearance like before.

"Will you invite Lord Luc too?" he asked Blue.

"Yeah, both him and Ruby. They need to hear what we think. Listen, Evan, I want you to like study this matter more. I know it's too much to ask…"

"No, it's not. I will do it regardless you asked or not. Your children are precious to me. I will do anything for them, so don't worry," he said, stopping her. "Besides, I am doing it out of curiosity too. You know how I am curious, don't you?

I cannot sit still when there is a mystery like this."

"In that case, thank you. Thank you for coming here. It means a lot."

"You can leave the formality, Blue. We are friends. Friends are always there for each other."

"Alright, that is your room," I said, glad to intervene. "We will call you at dinner. In the meantime, freshen up and make yourself comfortable."

"Wow, what a fortunate man I am that the King shows me my room himself!" he mocked.

"Just go," I groaned.

"Be nice," Blue said after he closed his door. "He is helping us."

"I am being as nice as possible," I said. Explore more stories with My Virtual Library Empire

"Then, you have to work harder. Be nicer. It's not okay to talk to him with sarcasm."

"You know how I talk."

"Dem…"

"Alright, alright," I sighed. "I will try. But don't expect too much."

"Anyway, should we send a letter to Luc and Ruby, or go there to invite them?"

"Just send a letter. If you go there, you will have to explain everything twice. First, to Luc and Ruby in the magic tower, then again, to all of them when they are here."

"Okay. I have to write a letter to Cyan too. He thinks he is all that because he did not tell me where he is staying. He thought I can't find him," she rolled her eyes. "He is my twin, for god's sake. Why would he have to try to be all mysterious and stuff?"

"Well, he knows you can find him. That's why, I guess."

"Don't support him. Sometimes, he gets on my nerves."

Although Blue said so, I knew deep down she cared for her brother a lot. The same went for her brother. Or, he would never come to Blue right when she needed some help.
