Chapter 416: Leaving The Other World Forever
(From Blue's Perspective)
We talked for a long time. Max and I had barely touched our food and left the restaurant. Cyan had enjoyed himself though. He had a lot of things of different varieties.
"Where will you go down?" Max asked as we decided to take a walk in the nearby park.
"Go back," I said. "I have a family now, Max. A real family."
"A family… Oh, yes… A new family," he mumbled, looking at his feet.
"Max, you are my first family," I said. "That will remain the same."
"Then, give me your address. I will visit you if that's okay."
'How? We live in two different worlds, my brother…'
"We…"
Another lie did not come out. I could not lie anymore when it was the last time Max and I would ever meet in this lifetime.
"Hey, will you listen to a bizarre story?"
The story was about a girl with nothing but a name and a man with demonic nature who did not love, trust, or so everybody believed. But the twist was- the man did love, and when he loved, he loved harder. It was a tale that told the unusual form of love and proved there was no fate. Fate was shaped based on a person's determination, practice, hard work, and needs.
A story so unbelievable, who would believe it?
Who would believe a girl claiming she had gone to another world that did not consist of humans, but werewolves? Those creatures looked like humans, but they possessed inhuman strength, some of them had magical powers and most of them could shapeshift into wolves. On the full moons, nature affected them, drove them crazy, and brought out the real selves of the werewolves.
I felt foolish saying all those things, but it was the truth. No matter how ridiculous it sounded, I kept going on.
"… Blue, I will believe if you say you married a rich good-for-nothing guy who is on the verge of death because of his age, but saying you married a king of the werewolves in another world where magic exists and a lot of more other things…"
"I know it sounds ridiculous, Max, but… I knew you wouldn't believe me. I don't blame you. It's unbelievable, I know. But I could not bear the idea of lying to you like this…"
"Blue, how can you expect me to believe that? It's… impossible!"
"It sounds impossible, but it's not! I am the proof! Cyan is too! He knows it too!"
"Blue, you are showing signs of…"
"No, Max, don't," I warned. "Don't say I show signs of a disorder. I may have some disorders, but one that makes me imagine another world exists and imagine my life in that world."
"She is telling the truth," Cyan added. "Although it is quite hard to prove, it is true indeed. I am from that world too. That's why I wanted to taste the food of this world. The taste is quite different but in a good way. Rather interesting…"
"It's… Haa…," Max sighed. "What do you want me to do?"
"Nothing," I said. "Just… live well. I want you to live well and happily."
"Can't I meet my sister again?"
"I don't know…," I mumbled. "I don't want to lie and give you false hopes, Max."
"Stay with me for a few days. It's been almost two years since I have last seen you," he said.
"… I am sorry…"
"Haa…," he breathed out deeply, his eyes gazing at a distance.
"I will go take a walk. This atmosphere is oddly emotional," Cyan muttered, walking away.
"There is a movie theater nearby. We used to sneak out sometimes," he said. "Remember, when we almost got caught by Draven…"
"That was scary. But we had fun," I chuckled. "That night, I was scared, you know. I was really scared. When Demetrius took me there and said he would marry me, I did not believe him. He told me I would be the Queen.
It was too dreamy to be true, like a hopeless fantasy. I thought he was gonna kill me. No matter how many times he tried to assure me, I was afraid. In the end, he did what he promised."
"Does he make you happy?"
"He does," I nodded. "None of us are perfect. I have some points of me that others might not like, and so does he. But we could embrace each other just perfectly."

It was clear what Max was thinking just by looking at his face. He was probably thinking Dem was a red flag. Well, Dem was. But, he was the type of sweet poison that I could not just stop taking, I never could. I was addicted.
"It's alright if you are happy," he said after a long pause. "I want you to be happy. It would have been better if we could meet again. But it's alright since it seems to be impossible. Will you leave tonight?"
"Yes, I need to," I said.
He let out another sigh and suddenly gave me a hug. "I am sorry for all those times. I am older than you. I should have been more responsible."
"It's alright. What matters is where we are now," I said. "We are away from that toxic family, so it's fine. It's really fine."
"By the way, I don't like that twin brother of yours," he said, pulling back from the hug. "He is weird."
"Isn't he?" I laughed.
Just as weird as Cyan was, he could be that much scary.
"Have you met…?"
"No," I replied before he could finish. "I haven't met any of them again, not after that night. I don't want to."
"I met Mother last night," he said. "She looks better now… at least, sane enough to ask me how I was."
I did not say anything. Mother was a stupid person. She eloped with Father because she fell in love with him and her family did not approve. I heard her family was a wealthy family with great honor. It was a virtuous family that followed tradition greatly. I was not a person who supported forcing someone to follow traditions.
But I still believed Mother's parents were right to oppose. Father was not a good person. When he married Mother, he already had some serious criminal records, including robbing and being a possible murder suspect.
Father's family, I was not sure of it, was a family full of criminals. I did not exactly know the details, but I heard a neighbor talking about our family, just usual gossip. Max also did not know anything about Father's family.
"What time is it now, Max?"
"Eleven," he replied.
"I got to go now. It's been quite a while."
"This soon? Can't you stay a bit more?" he asked.
"I am sorry," I said. "I really… Wait, there are some things…"
I started taking off my earrings and two rings on my right hand. "Take them," I said, handing them to Max.
"What? Why?" he asked, completely taken aback.
"I brought them to give to you. They cost a lot. I have lots of them. These are made of pure gold and diamond and some other valuable gems. Make sure to take them to the right place to sell them. You will get quite a lot of money."
"These are yours, Blue. I can't take them!"
"No, as I said, I brought them so you can take them," I said, refusing to take them back. "Take them. Consider it a thank you from me."
"For what?"
"For being my brother," I smiled.
The night was chilly. My dress was definitely not fit for the weather. The time when Cyan and I finally crossed the door, it was way past four hours. I showed Max the door to prove that the other world was real. He looked quite shocked. It seemed no matter what I had told him, he would not have believed it if it was not for the door.
Although he refused to take my jewelry, I forced him to take them. I did not know I would be meeting him today. If I knew, I would have brought a lot more. Along with power, Azure also had a lot of wealth. And he had given me quite a good part of it.
Before coming back, I asked him if he wanted to come to the other world with me. I knew the answer, yet I did. The answer was as I expected.
Max was an ambitious person. To him, his goal was the first and foremost thing he sought. He wanted to know more about human psychology and wanted to pursue a career on that path. I respected his wishes. I wished him all the best.
Having my best wishes or not, he would still be successful; he was that kind of person.
"Took quite a long time. Can't object. Must have been a heartfelt reunion."
There was no doubt regarding who sent the letter to Max saying I would meet him there. Aside from Alphas, dark mages had the ability to go through the doors. Humans could do that too. But humans did not have the power to open the door. They could go through open doors only. Dark mages and Alphas had that ability.
I did not know about it until now.
I also found out another thing that had been bothering me for a long time.
